So I have a tiny bit of a crazy theory that I think we might want to ask Blackhand questions to test but I can't think of any.

You know how it seems pretty clear that the bits of Blackhand have different spheres of expertise? How we think wolfy boy got the Flygya bits, that sort of thing.

I'm wondering if when we beat our Kinsman in that castle raid if we might have gained some Blackhand wholeness along with the Osthirr, I just have no idea what his Blackhand's sphere would have been as it's substantially less obvious than wolfy.

It might be that such a thing is impossible, or more likely imo(as no author can resist a Highlander mechanic) that it requires other methods besides just winning in the story.

edit: Now that I think more on it it's likely that if possible we would have to do the thing where we nid someone up right as they die to vamp some of their Osthirr(iirc). Not something I want to do to Kin unless someone gets really high on the shit list.

So I think IF expounded a bit on this. But Blackhand has to loose a bit of himself in order to gain something new. Like he interacts with his other soul bits and regains something from the interaction but we essentially have to trade Hallrs to get new info.

IF has specifically said it's not working by Highlander rules, so it definitely doesn't work exactly like this. I'm pretty sure that the way we get things from the other Hallr instances is by talking with their current bearers and swapping tricks, or just watching them for inspiration.

Notably, this plan makes a choice regarding our present for Vagn. Specifically, we can either get him a magic spear for 12 oz. of magic iron if we learn the Spear Skill-Trick, or we can make him a GIANT WHEEL with 150 oz. of forged Iron if we get the Vehicles Skill-Trick. There are arguments for both positions...but this plan goes WHEEL. I don't know if that's the right choice, but it's the choice being made.

GIANT WHEEL

GIANT WHEEL

GIANT WHEEL

More seriously, I support this!

Although I can't find it in the plan currently? Is it meant to be in the same action where we're making the Standstill training item?

In terms of actions, I think we need to talk to Steinarr about the whole Gabriel situation...he deserves a head's up.
--[X] Steinarr
--[X] After the more prosaic training conversation mentioned below, talk with him about the Gabriel situation and what exactly happened on that raid, particularly in regards to Gabriel's companions.

So this got brought up ages ago and tentatively agreed upon as far as I recall, but anyway, while we're talking to him, let's ask him if he'd like us to Realise Crowfeeder? If he doesn't, then obviously we won't, but if he does, then we should.

--[X] Use bone-ash from a ?

Hmmm, what about a badger? They're fairly tough. Or a regular non-magical bear, if we can find some bear bones.

Actually wait, Sten or someone killed Bjorney's mother, didn't they?

It's easy to rationalise there being bear bones available in that case.

--[X] Train Time Stands Still 1d6

I would like us to unlock this quicker so we can see what it does, but I'm willing to wait a turn until we've got the Standstill training item before I start relentlessly nagging you about it. :V

I vote GIANT WHEEL and furthermore I think we should Realize it. Just. I want to see peoples reactions to it. Also. It being able to do tricks by itself should be very useful for a GIANT WHEEL.

[X] Plan More Dwarf Talks

Some questions on the armor.

Can we add a war mask to the Helm like we talked before? If everyone is okay with that of course. Maybe shaped like a Owl.

Can we add bracers to the armor? Halla can have the idea after watching the armor of that warrior-priest in Wessex.

Will we add the Fenrirkin hide to the armor?

Can we spend time with Erik and get a handle on Krysvikingr politics before everything goes down? We keep passing up opportunities to talk about it and it will bite us in the ass sooner or later.
We would 100% no doubt rank up Atgeir. It being lower ranked than Sword is kind of weird and an issue and we definitely want more of it. I guess if it was against a new Twist or something maybe not, but it is very likely that we'll pick it.

This is also because very rarely are Hugareida rank ups against each other, and ranking them up is impossible any other way.
I would rather we test it out now, because I don't want to have to remember to suggest it again if or when we get an Atgeir Rank Up.

It's only a single d6, we have a lot of it. If we're that pressed for d6s it I can use a reward dice to supplement that.

We first need to learn how to make one. This plan chooses to learn Vehicle over Spear, so it's making the choice which to do now, but we won't be making it for a few turns.

I believe IF confirmed he did not want that in the thread a while back.

Bear is solid, yeah.

Heh. I'm not sure heavy investment in getting the mystery box is worth it when it's so close. My inclination is to stick with 1d per turn until it hits Rough and we get a description. That's only a few turns.

So...we're still learning how to make Plate Armor, which we'd need for the bracers, I think. Once we learn that, we probably make it rather than sticking with this, which is why we're not using the Hide. It's worth the half action to not wait ??? turns for good armor, but if it's just gonna be replaced we don't want to use the Hide.

As for the mask, it's a closed face helm already. An actual theme would tempt me, but going owl reveals information to our opponents, which seems bad.

Can we spend time with Erik and get a handle on Krysvikingr politics before everything goes down? We keep passing up opportunities to talk about it and it will bite us in the ass sooner or later.

We tried that on the trip. He ducked us. He's on the list, but I don't think trying again this soon will be productive.

I don't think 'we'll forget about it' is a good reason to prioritize something we don't need now over things we do potentially need now.

If you want to spend a Reward Die that's certainly your prerogative, though. What exactly do you want to spend it on? Research? Training a new Trick? Whatever it is I'll add it to the plan.

Research I guess?

"See if it is possible to overlay or reinforce Sagaseeker (or an Atgeir generally) with our Atgeir Hugareida, either directly or with a trick."

I understand, so for the next turns we will also focus on Researching Plate Armor and the Knightly Armor?

What other theme we could use? Something related to our Hugareida like flames? Or just make a scary monstrous face? Any ideas?

We're gonna be doing 3d per turn for the next couple after this one, then see where we go from there. Skill Trick? More research? Not sure, really.

No ideas, sorry, which is a large part of why it's not in the plan.

Fair enough. In that case, it looks like we could fit a second thing into the crafting action where we're making the Standstill training item? Might as well use it.

I believe IF confirmed he did not want that in the thread a while back.
It's not so much that Steinarr doesn't want it and more that Crowfeeder can't be Realized

Huh, fair enough. I remember you saying it was fine to ask him the last time this came up, but good to avoid wasting time if it's just barking up the wrong tree.

Sadly no. The clothing is one action all on its own (with the armor and training item sharing the other), we only get doubled crafting per action on smithing. Which, after the clothing, will be the only crafting we do for a while, but it doesn't work to get a new wardrobe.

Do we want to put runes on the clothing?

I agree that its not as urgent, but when we do take care of the underhouse what are we intending to do with it

Last question, can we try feed Odr to Sagaseeker?

Hm.... Interesting outcomes...
Taking it slow and careful, you and Stigmar thoroughly explore each path. The middle leads to a large storage chamber that's mostly empty save for a couple large stone pots—cracking them open revealed nothing but a weird sort of loose substance that glimmered in the light. It has the consistency of grain while leaving a clay-like residue on your fingers. Odd, very odd
Glitter?
No wonder they were exterminated :V
The left-hand passageway leads to what appears to be a workshop. Anvils, grindstones, furnaces, and all sorts of crafting tools litter the room haphazardly, like the previous owners couldn't be bothered to put it away after using.
Ho.... Call sten and see what's what? Although, we got a whole workshop of dwarven tools, that's an incredible haul.
If only we got some schematics or receipts too...
(The Underhouse is now available for your use, should you so desire it)
Hm..... Definitely need a clean up, but I am curious if we can clean it of lingering bad juju if it has any...
You know, like when you repaint a new house.
Asgeirr's Silver-Tongue: 6x1, 5x2) 6 Successes. (Sigurdr's: 6x1, 5x3, 3x1)9+1(Friendly)=10 Successes. (Eyvor's: 6x1, 4x1, 3x2) 5 Successes. (Hallbjorn's: 5x1, 2x1, 1x1)0+1(Friendly)=1
Hm... Pretty good dice pools so early.
(Journal Entry Added: Underhouse Swaddle)
Hm... Speaking with dead is kind of divination, right? Should we ask the seeres, see if she knows anything about this or ask how to summon the dead for a talk if she don't?
Or go ask our friendly ducklings about it?
(Doubt it's a queen, but eh..... Why would they have a human baby down there?)

Onto the comment now!
