Many mysteries. Dwarves that seem to have eaten each other, save for a human(?) child. Dwarves have no cannibalism taboo, but why was the baby untouched? There must have been a human influence around somewhere. And what's with the grain?

So, tentative plan here.

Notably, this plan makes a choice regarding our present for Vagn. Specifically, we can either get him a magic spear for 12 oz. of magic iron if we learn the Spear Skill-Trick, or we can make him a GIANT WHEEL with 150 oz. of forged Iron if we get the Vehicles Skill-Trick. There are arguments for both positions...but this plan goes WHEEL. I don't know if that's the right choice, but it's the choice being made.

Aside from that, this plan continues working on a variety of things we've been working on for a while and focuses a fair bit on Hamr. A few more turns of this and we hit Hamr 8, and can then move on to other big projects (probably Perfecting Slowing Slog).

In terms of actions, I think we need to talk to Steinarr about the whole Gabriel situation...he deserves a head's up. Plus we need to talk to the Dwarves and get more Magical Iron and Socket Stones for various presents, and we definitely need a Standtill Training Item, better armor, and particularly clothing that doesn't cause soot-related issues.

So...that's the plan. We do want to adapt the Underhouse, but I don't think it's urgent, and I feel like all this stuff is. We can ask the Dwarves about the swaddle thing while we're at it, too...that seems useful to know.

I still need to figure our good bone-ash to use on the armor...any suggestions?

[X] Plan More Dwarf Talks
-[X] (Personal)Spend time with...
--[X] Asva
--[X] Ask her to make us a new wardrobe designed to look good with soot, offer her favors (including teaching her stuff) or supplies (we have a lot of sprang) if she wants it
--[X] Additionally, catch up, and talk about swapping useful tricks. Specifically, see if she has any good household seidr, Campfire, or Clearwater Tricks she can tell us about, and make sure we teach her the basics of Sickness Sear and, if we can manage it, Time Heals All Wounds and other medical seidr if she doesn't have any of them already (we'd also teach her other stuff if she wanted). Because we definitely want her to have medical stuff if she's thinking of moving away. If she already has them great, but we should make sure.

-[X] (Personal) Speak with the Dwarves,
--[X] Buy more crafting materials,
--[X] Specifically note that we gave them more Food than we should've on the one-time deal last time (which is true, doing that is why we were personally not gonna make it through the winter without the expedition), and will thus be doing a lot less of that going forward (though all existing deals stand, obviously).
--[X] Maybe ask them about the weirdness of the Underhouse

-[X] (Crafting) Try to make something (1)
--[X] Reforge Our Own Armor + Create Forged Iron Mail-Necked Helm (+15 successes from Tools/Workshop)
--[X] Name it 'Emberguard'
--[X] Use bone-ash from a bear
--[X] Quench in Hearthroot Oil
--[X] Putting the following runes on the Helm: This poem by Shard (as are all other Rune-poems), or, if that is not a valid option "May my wearer's eyes track prey like a predator." - Either way hopefully granting us an extra Target-Tracking Eyes bonus
--[X] Adding three Socket Stones and putting the following runes on them:
---[X] Rune #1: "Strike me, my skin of iron./All that would harm and hurt./Find your blows, now are flames./Etch upon me, embers alone." or if that is not a valid option "Blows become embers against my bulwark" (= All damage dealt to the armor counts as fire damage either way)
---[X] Rune #2: "I felt heat, born of fire,/Blackened burns I know well./Fireborn-worn, fireproofed I am./Persist as you against pyroclasm." or if that is not a valid option "I gain my wearer's resistance to flame" (=The armor gains the wearer's fire resistance)
---[X] Rune #3: "Unbound, unchained/Free of fetters high and low/Movement, momentum/Wearer's will alone abided" or if that is not a valid option "My wearer's chosen movements will remain unbound." (=Generally keeps people from grappling or tying us up against our will)

-[X] (Crafting) Try to make something (2)
--[X] Iron Sphere For Standstill Training (+15 successes from Tools/Workshop)
--[X] Putting the following Runes onto it: "Motion I have, movement I possess./Inexorable inertia pushing me onward./Halt me, hobble me./And be skilled in Standstill." or, if that is not a valid option "May skill in stillness be granted by opposing my motion" –Either way hopefully a Standstill Training Item
--[X] Stoking Frami (for +1 Success) and burning Virthing and Saemd (for +3 successes each, +7 total) to enhance the Runes we are putting on it.

-[X] [Social](Personal) Spend time with...
--[X] Steinarr
--[X] After the more prosaic training conversation mentioned below, talk with him about the Gabriel situation and what exactly happened on that raid, particularly in regards to Gabriel's companions.

-[X] (Exploration) Go on a walk through...
--[X] The hills!
---[X] (Optional) Send your fylgja in your place (Does not cost an action)

-[X] Special Note: On all Crafting add the following if possible unless otherwise specified:
--[X] For metal items, switch Forgefire Slots to Dice (+7d6 total) before starting and back afterwards and have Heat Hold available just incase
--[X] Using Frenzy during the crafting process, under careful observation(+6 successes)
--[X] Stoking Frami, Virthing, and Saemd (for +1 Success each, +3 successes total) to enhance the crafting process

--[X] Feed 1 Odr in honey to our new pet bear, Bjorney, and see what happens.
--[X] Use the seeds we acquired in Wessex to further improve our soulscape's farm if possible, also adding manure, water, and sunlight as needed 1d6

If we have any wolf bones lying around, I'd like to try testing the effects of bone-meal fertilizer from elementally aspected monsters on crops. I'll donate a Reward Die to pay for the research if needed.

On that note, has clearing the Underhouse increased Halla's Odr Cultivation rate at all?
Why would it?
Can we turn the underhouse into a training/cultivation/research place? Or maybe a workshop?
Sure!
How well hidden is it?
Very!
Hey Blackhand, do you know if its possible to influence our Fylgja using our Hugareida/Muna? Do you know if its possible to create 'improved versions' of tricks mastered/perfected? Do you know if alloys can include Muna?
'In order, no idea, I don't really understand the question, and probably.'

Voting is now open

Maybe also ask him about farming trick's? we want to improve our soul farm and getting some good ones traind could very much help with that.

We were told the area felt 'clogged' when we cultivated in it. Clearing out the Underhouse seemed the logical solution once we found out about it and that it was sealed up.
The reason it felt clogged when you cultivated specifically is because that was when you opened your soul up enough to feel the oddity beneath your feet. The clog has lessened, but it's still there. Likely won't disappear until you've solved the mystery

We did? Must have forgot.

we should probably train them then. We know that the rank dos more then just making it cheaper, maybe that's the answer.

So, we have two of them, one is Sowing Sight which adds 1 to our Food number on Resources per level it's trained to. The other is Harvesting Sense which gives 1 Work Die per level to use on Food. We have plenty of Work Dice right now so I don't think Harvesting Sense is a priority. Progressing Sowing Sight is in the above plan.

Too early.

Honestly, I'd like to go after we've reached Realm 2, but apparently we're going next turn based on the Schedule.

@DeadmanwalkingXI Do we have enough spare dice to research the earthblood and bottled sunlight? I'm willing to put some of mine into those to get us closer to that Fiery Ale of the Heavens and the Earth.

It isn't actually sunlight in a bottle it's just water from a magic river

Edit: when the war starts we should probably hide anything important down there instead of leaving it on the farm

Actually, with the need to spend an action talking to Buri I've revised that timetable. We do that next turn and the Hading in Summer of the new year (post Second Realm, though pretty soon thereafter).

As others note, the 'bottled sunlight' is water from one of the rivers in Ginunngagap. So this idea sadly doesn't have the resonance we were hoping for. I do think checking it out is valid and have it planned in the next few turns, but I thought other things took precedence.

That said, obviously, if you want to spend a Reward Die, we can add on looking into whatever you want.

Can we test out trying to overlay our Atgeir Hugareida over Sagaseeker, or if an Atgeir trick can 'passively' reinforce Sagaseeker? It also becomes a lot better the moment we get any ranks of Atgeir.

Is reading the Frysian manual in thr plan? I didn't see it, but I might have just missed it
@DeadmanwalkingXI

Ah crap. I forgot. Gimme a moment and I'll add it. EDIT: And fixed.

I'm not inclined to do that until we either have an immediate use (ie: have in fact gotten Atgeir up), or alternately have fewer Alloy things to check. There are a lot of those and we need to get through them.

What kind of bone ash were we going to use for Halla's armor upgrade?

Honestly, it might be better to just not use any yet, the option of employing it later will still exist when we do the next refit.

Bear is a possibility for obvious reasons...I was planning on wolf when I was thinking we added the Fenriskin Hide, for the synergy. I;m not positive at this point, but I'm not sure I buy not using any, as we probably don't melt this down to make plate, we just wind up with both, so I don't think we reforge this.

Would we rank up Atgeir as a Hugareida though? If we prove that this is possible then ranking Atgeir up becomes more attractive, and if we prove it isn't possible then ranking up Atgeir becomes less attractive. If we know beforehand we can make better decision if or when Atgeir Hugareida rank up shows up as an option.

We would 100% no doubt rank up Atgeir. It being lower ranked than Sword is kind of weird and an issue and we definitely want more of it. I guess if it was against a new Twist or something maybe not, but it is very likely that we'll pick it.

This is also because very rarely are Hugareida rank ups against each other, and ranking them up is impossible any other way.
