So the thread seems pretty set on capturing an armored eight-limbed Rider in Red for a 'Sudden Knight' spell, but has anybody gave thought on using the naked four-limbed ones for a spell instead? Well I have, the spell I thought of summons Greenskins to fight for you. Use Mathilde's inner Waaaghilde with her deep instinct towards everything Greenskin combined with apparitions to create the Greenskin summoning spell you never knew you wanted!

Rincewind is still a fun protagonist, though.
Yeah, but the last continent has him while also mostly fitting the tone of the later books. Not that the early ones are bad, but there is definitly a lot of early installment weirdness. That's the case even for Guards Guards (which I personally consider the weakest of the Guards books), though to a lesser degree.

I do not wish to volunteer.
- Rincewind, The Last Hero
That was, in many ways, a perfect place for Rincewind to end up as a character.

Cadaeth had required several patient evenings explaining to her that no, there really are no other defences beyond the scant few that are plainly visible. She'd been rather taken aback when you told her that if something came from the east that those defences could not handle, then in all likelihood any of the local population that couldn't or wouldn't flee would die. She'd been significantly more taken aback when she heard the same from a local, who then told her that it had happened twice in the past century, but not to worry, if it happened again the restless dead wouldn't have long to chew on their bones before the Hunter's Daughter would bring the army down upon them.

Cadaeth: It's unfair that you're destroying our ancient magical forest that we use for defence.
Middenheim: You have a magical forest? All we to protect ourselves is a normal mountain.
Nuln: Wait, you have a mountain? I have to make do with walls and a river to protect my city.
Stirland: You guys have defences?

Er guys I just realized something... We gave Eike a spell that makes you tireless. Eike the girl who idolizes Mathilde, you know the woman who thinks overwork should only stop when the lack of food and sleep might get in the way of doing the job right. I think we might need to have a chat with Eike about how she is still growing and shouldn't to as her teacher does in this instance.

The warnings against chain casting will ensure that already.

a trio of Journeymen with a knack for rituals, currently employed by the swineherds of Grimmenhagen
Grimmenhagen is on the eastern edge of Middenland for those wondering

Updated Eike spell list:
Drop, Glowing Light, Magic Dart, Marsh Lights, Sleep
Aethyric Armour (Mastery - Indefatigable)
It seems kinda crazy how fast Eike is learning spells, but if you think about it, she has; top class facilities, a wealth of informational texts, the personal tutoring of a Lord Magister, and started with a Mark of Ulgu, so this pace might actually be fairly reasonable.

A question: do elementalists specialize in one of the 4 elements, or are they expected to learn multiple / all 4?
