1.2K is pretty damn good! We're not an Absolute Mass Combat Machine like Gabriel is, but that's still damned respectable.

Well, that worked out great! As for rewards, it seems clear to me that a mere +3 Orthstirr/year feat is the least rewarding of the options. Being able to connect the dots on something and mastering Sagaseeker seem like much bigger payoffs.

Yeah.

Anyways, Good News Everyone! We'll be at 500 Orthstirr after our yearly Feat drip! Which'll happen next update! We're catching up to Sten's gas tank, even if we've got a ways to go to match his Numbers!

This puts us at 18 Odr per turn, a princely sum!

Yeah, that went fine.

In terms of choices, we're hitting the point where +3 Orthstirr a year is just less shiny than it used to be. It's still really good and it hurts not to take it, but the Atgeir thing seems better, and plot hints are always interesting and useful.

486 was the actual important number, that's where we hit 18 Odr per turn. 513 is the next breakpoint for 19 a turn, and we'll get there.

Matching Sten's numbers may take a minute, though, it's true.

These are rare things, we can get more Orthstirr relatively easily, but the other two options are rarer.

Blackhand scoffs, his eye roll nearly audible. 'I'm sure you'd change your tune if Abjorn were the one doing the wrestling.'
'Gary Tuskpuncher sells both whale and olive oil, for a reasonable price at that.'
The beedover is real!

Or rather this is Blackhand's revenge for calling him a liar.

Actually it's totally both.
Looking to the cliffside — where a mountain of bodies leans against it — you find yourself witnessing a slumbering Stigr sleep-grappling a wide-awake and very-unhappy Stigmar. You smile as Stigr reminds you of how clingy Asgeirr can be. He simply refuses to sleep alone, the belligerent little guy.

Absolutely adorable.
So cute.

You know, come to think of it, this is the first time Eric's seen Halla in action since her build really started to pop off.

I wonder what the hell was going on in his mind watching his sister fly around, cackling, and unleashing Suns Beneath The Earth on the swarm of Troll Men while otherwise incinerating them with fireballs.

Eric quest must be out of their minds. First they leave home to make their way, successfully rise to prominence, find love, find loss, and return to see home while on official business. Next they see their adorable ankle-biter of a sister utterly eclipse their combat contributions against a horde of troll-men. And she's got some kind of Christian super-soldier???

We should hopefully get some insight next update since we should be talking to Eric, and specifically about fighting at that. We still have three things to do this turn by my count:

1. Invite Eric to join our sparring.
2. Get Sten's advice on Forgefire Tricks.
3. An actual scene training Drifa.

In fairness, Eric Quest can't be completely surprised Halla is hardcore, she did win the last spar they had together. They might have expected their own progress to be faster than hers, though.

Ericquest really wanted to go the peaceful-ish craftsman route. Unfortunately things were not to be that way.

I wonder if the same happened to Sten. As in, was he more like Eric before he left for Finland, or was he already more on the hardcore side before everything went to shit for him?

We know he was hardcore by the time things really went to shit since he fought his way out of the situation. I think he was going for a balanced build focused more on crafting but with enough combat to handle it if things went sideways. Honestly, I think that's still the way his build is.

Like, I'm pretty sure we're more combat-focused than Sten is (or Eric, for that matter). He's just also enough higher powered that our greater focus doesn't make up for it.

Halla: "I don't understand my character sheet. Why does it have "Bloodlust" listed as a Flaw, and under what circumstances would I NOT encounter something trying to kill me?"

Who needs orthsirr when we can have PLOT

Incidentally Blackhand,

To earn Orthsirr, words of my deeds need to be heard by others. Does it matter who those deeds are heard by, such as if it is a thrall or jarl instead of a karl? Would non-Norsemen like the Finnish people count? What about beings like Dwarves or Svartalfar or Jotun? What about if my deeds were heard by a different Norse village that hates my guts?

The broken-necked troll-man sails through the air, bowling over a trio trying to flank around Eric. They never stand again, Eric's axe makes sure of that as his sword splits a fourth from head to hip. A fifth leaps up from the edge, but Eric drives his axe's handle into its eye and out the back of its head.

Going back to this Eric is dual wielding, interesting. I wonder if that's typical of the Kyrsvikingar.

Stigr ran out of arrows long ago, so when you next turn your attention to the cliffside, you see him with spear in hand as he drives his weapon through the faces of flanking troll-men. He's running up and down the edge of the cliff, removing heads and splitting skulls as he goes.

Hmmm. I wonder why he isn't using Wanderlust? We helped make him a really nice sword and he isn't even using it! :p

You are one vote late. Luckily, things have gone fine.

Can we make some time for learning farming from Steinarr? Since he is supposed to be a genius at farming, he likely has really good tricks for it. I know that we have not had any difficulty with farming, but his knowledge will be lost when he is gone and his time is coming up soon.
