I get why you're not bothering :V
It just completely slipped my mind, whoops.

Cool ideas though.
What about Australia, Ireland and... I wanna say Hawaii and the island nations between China and Australia?
I know nothing about Pre-Colonial Australia. Ireland at this point in time is more or less Christian. Hawaii doesn't have anybody living on it yet, that happens — in our timeline — in the year 1000.

Voting will be called in an hour and a half, so vote if you haven't yet!

Yeah I know, but that means best cases scenario at the end of the turn the men from the Jarl have just arrived unless they take time to prepare, best case scenario they just started monster hunting and a few going be skulking around still.
Ah, my mistake, skimming it i misread your worry as "what if a draugrs stumbles upon the unprotected farm".
Would making it explicit that we explore safe areas (like visiting the friendly farms), would that help your worry?

I am currently taking a class about African culture and communication for my minor. I think I will take a shot at guessing some aspects of African cultivation. (its a fun class and subject so ill even be source what I can). Hey later me here, I was gonna do this but then realized its a lot of words so I will just touch on ancestral spirits.
Oh yeah forgot to mention, there are many cultural ideas and concepts that are kind of omni present in Sub Sahara Africa and even in parts of North Africa like polychronic time, aspect of gender roles, and community structure/purpose. One is the beliefs that everything (every person, event, place, thing, or animal) is spiritual to an extent, aka that the concept of the secular does not exist. Also parts of Africa have unique takes on Islam, as when Islam spread it mostly spread with the Arabic language and culture with it but in west and central Africa sometimes only Islam arrived.

Very cool, thank you! I'm probably mostly going to focus on North Africa, to try and salvage as much of my sanity as I can.
Perfectly reasonable African religious beliefs can get real complicated since the seculars isnt a thing its heavily intertwined with cultureand then it even fuses with other religions that get introduced to contain aspects of both, add in the fact Africa is a heavy on oral tradiaiton and thus there is little written down (this video on Swaziland taught us only the native Arabs count trace their ancestry because you need a written family tree to do so (doing it by memory is too complex for people) and the Arabs wrote it down)

So how's the Jarl going to react when it turns out he's rolling up and one of the things he's here too save us from is already dead? I expect some annoyance myself.

Are you going to tell us when we get half right? Or do we need the entire puzzle solved for confirmation? That or will you wait till next update to list which parts are right in character?

So in marrying Abjorn, do we move to Abjorn's farm?
Yes.

Well, technically you would move into the farm that Abjorn's currently starting to build, but since he's not done that's a bit beside the point. This 'courting period' (not really something that the Norse did, but whatever) is already stretching a bit long and even if your and Abjorn's families have a good relationship, the question of your continued maidenhood is starting to really make itself known. In order to avoid having to kill Abjorn, both families have agreed to go ahead and hurry things along.

I dont think our niece would find that exciting, preferably we bring her to a place with an illusion of danger but its actually safe (so actual exploring).

Uh... context?

Also, I'm surprised that we haven't bothered to invest a single dice into learning how to farm. Seems like that'll bite us in the ass eventually.

So, I'm making the rolls.

Holy Shit, Halla.

Normally I'm able to contain myself, but WHAT THE HECK.

She do got 7 Hamingja. She's a lucky gal.

Don't be stupid, wear protection. Illegitimate offspring is a rather potent source of nid that extends to her whole family, as is besmirching a maiden's honor by singing love poems about her, which might imply that you know her more intimately than is seemly.

Vidar and Steinarr have a strong friendship, which is a very, very good thing for you and Abjorn.

...
So Abjorn is being less than smart about how he is courting Halla?

Courting is probably one of the single most dangerous activities a young man can undertake. There is a reason that you haven't had very many Abjorn actions as of late

I haven't talked about this much, as you are currently on the other side of the equation here

I know we have a long way to go(hopefully), but I'm really excited for the child character creation/generation system when we eventually switch characters. Seems really interesting.

I'm kind of playing around with the idea of going Wanderlust and a sort of "Young Odin Adventurer" sort with the next character. Guy who's all about travelling the continent, learning from all sorts of places, with the intent to bring some of it back home to advance the Craft.

Or something along those lines. This setting is cool and a character that's about exploring it would be a fun cooldown after Halla proceeds to build a foundation of loot and pillage from.

Yeah, wandering explorer definitely sounds interesting and like a good change from some of Halla's likely stuff.

My only issue with the whole Odin adventurer thing is that questors wouldn't vote the whole Odin curiosity thing cause oh no it could cause us problems. Otherwise it would be fun.
