If the Order forces end up being wiped out by cannon fire over the next couple of turns because you guys had to be loot goblins I am going to be angry.

why? Either way we win in the longer run. Honestly whatever happens, happens. Also we wont really get anything from wiping out the Dawi Zharr in kislev, we have to kill them all down to the very last member of the chaos dwarves in order to get ANYTHING from the dawi.

and frankly, were doing quite well for us so far, once the foundation is set for the future...honestly whatever happens happens...and the fact we still have one of the largest armies in the world is a good thing. Plus, the Order gods are far more fricken active then you can expect and are probably waiting for the right moment to strike.

Quote of the day: Lives are the Emperor's currency. Spend them wisely.

The Hellfire Drone: One trend across the Undead is their agility. Namely that the majority of their forces are a slow moving thing. They are definitely still a force to be reckoned with but speed is definitely not their strength. Their power lies in their vast numbers, technology, and ability to resurrect. A slow moving titan that hits hard and excels at grinding away at the enemy. Still this is not an ideal thing for them. As it often gives their foes time to prepare and create defenses. It is especially true for the Ebony Steel legions with their mechanical forms.

Unfortunately the Necrotects of the Undead and their master are well aware of the issue. So they devised a new weapon to make up for it. Creating a new machine specifically to fill such a role. A fast moving and hard hitting machine. One intended to harass and break down enemies before the army proper arrives. Primarily by targeting vehicles and fortifications. Crippling the enemy in more ways than one.

Five meters tall and around half again that wide. The primary chassis suspended between a pair of hoop like treaded wheels. The parts connected by casing that covered part of the rings on the lower half. Capable of moving at great speeds over open ground and shallow waters. Directly below the chassis was a lascannon to act as a secondary weapon. It's primary weapons however are the two missile racks on top. Each holding around a dozen of their payload. Their pale green eye situated at the front. Being able to lock onto ground and air targets alike.

The missives are a form of hextech on their own. Each holding a limited degree to correct their course and pursue enemies. Exploding with great force when they reach their target. Worse is the sorcerous effect they release. Not only is the detonation enough to break most tank armor, but it releases ghostly fire into the area. This flame eats through what the explosion does not. Melting any metal it can reach. The effect on flesh is even worse to behold. Flesh and blood seeming to almost fossilize under the effect. Adding a psychological element to the assault. After their task if sone the machines will rush back to their lines to resupply. The lascannon holding off attackers.

The chassis is lined with a number of runes. One effect is to negate it's weight and increase it's speed. A second is to increase durability on all fronts. A third to manage temperature and ensure there is no heat build up. The wheels are lined with more runes to help ensure traction regardless of terrain. Finally a sequence to prevent the environment from interfering with it. Such as high wind and moisture.

[X] Fort Ostrok: One of the primary set of forts that stand at the border between Kislev and the far north and Troll Country. It was amongst the first to fall to the forces of Chaos. The servants of Khorne here are varied, having not only the gods' human worshippers but also Chaos Trolls dedicated to Khorne.

The Blood Tide - Unholy Ground Part I
The Chaos Gods were many things, the enemy of the sane, the bringers of madness and despair, but they were also gods, and so they had their holy grounds scattered across multiple planes of realities, some were easy to access while others were difficult to both reach and step into. Chamon Dharek was the first, having been created during the first invasion of Chaos centuries ago, the corrupted Kurgans, having built it in the name of the Chaos Gods who, as a reward for their service, killed the builders and mummified their corpses.

They then consecrated the ground in the name of each one of the Chaos Gods. From Tzeentch's sorcery to Slaanesh, excess all had a part in the so-called sacred ground of Chamon Dharek. With this in mind, inevitably, the servants of the dark gods would move towards Dharek, for in this sacred ground all bloodshed and feud between the rival gods must cease, for no matter how exalted one is in the eyes of the gods he will be struck down if he or she breaks the rules laid down by their masters.

But this time, it wouldn't be only the forces of ruin that would come to the Sacred Ground of Chaos. For the forces of the Dragon had come at last, to burn down Chamon Dharek. The Necromancers could feel the taint of chaos in not only the Aether, but also on the land and on the air. It really spoke of it, since the taint present on Chamon Dharek was stronger than even in the Ritual City. For far more horrific acts were carried in here, than in the burned husks of Zoishenk.

Chamon Dharek was built on a hill overlooking the horizon, while at the beginning, it was a simple wooden totem. Now it was a fortress, with a dark tower surrounded by thick walls, not even on the fact that it was defended by servants of all the Four Gods of Chaos, who would not attempt to kill each other thanks to the fact that they were on holy ground. So they would face the Forces of Ruin with the fact that their most common weakness was effectively eliminated.

But even them, they did not falter, and started planning on how to take the fortress...

The Army of Death
- Undead: 5,354,025 Skeleton Warriors; 3,522,614 Zombies; 13,710,705 Grave Guard; 16,326,673 Black Knights; 153 Undead Giants
- Magical Forces: 90 Necromancers

Plan of Attack

[] Focused Barrages: Have both the Giants and the Necromancers launch artillery barrages at the walls when they get closer enough so that your troops can enter the fortress.

[] Charge: Have your forces charge at the walls, using their very bodies as a method of climbing them.

[] Write-in

[] Plan Bring Down the Walls
-[] First Wave: First, Giants launch rocks as Artillery. Probing Strike By Black Knight Forces. Black Knights are to capture Enemy Forces attention and attack out of position troops or the Gates. Necromancers are to be focused on traps discovered, keeping Knights together as long range 'healers' or preparing Magic artillery barrage.
-[] Second Wave: Zombies make their way through whatever safe path the Black Knights carve. Knights disengage. Necromancers launch Magic Artillery at walls.
-[] Third Wave: Skeletons and Half our Grave Guards move up. Shredded Zombie Forces should be tearing at the Gates, or forming a macabre stair case for incoming reinforcements.
-[] Fourth Wave: If third wave fails then Giants kept as Artillery are to be sent in as melee combatants.

So, I see speed is an issue, and we need time for our slow moving Zombies to get to the walls. Time our Black Knights will have to buy. I fully expect to find Chaos Flavored Land Mines which we need them to clear.
Thoughts?

Edit:
Hmm, there might not be any land mines then.

Edit2:
Listen guys, you can either give the Funny reaction, or you can post why the plan sucks and how we can make a better plan. I'm not kidding. I would 100% throw the Knights in first. My concern is if we led with the Zombies, then by the time they reach the fort Chaos Forces will already be prepared for further attacks.

My good sir, your using our black knights for the wrong reason/way. But you definetly are doing well.

I'll give my plan and we can compare the two. I do like some bits of it

My idea is to keep necronancers in check to dispel magic thrown from the fortress (50 of them), 10 to buff our undead, and the last 20 on artillery duty.

We keep the rotation going, this is a siege rennet that. Also we have numbers in the MILLION's, so surrounding the fortress to give it a constant pressure on all sides is a good thing. Daemons may not tire, but even the mortal servants will.

We have ALLOT of chaff undead to throw at the walls.

Quote of the day: Lives are the Emperor's currency. Spend them wisely.

Field Repair Unit: The greatest advantage of the Undead is their capacity to resurrect the fallen. Their forces rising time and again to fight. Not just their own for that matter, but those of their enemies as well. Ranging from their ragged Stitched puppet undead to their more powerful machines. Parts clicking back into place with wires reconnecting. Flesh knitting back together and bone reforming as a whole. Metal undenting itself and becoming sound once again. So long as the necromantic energy continues to flow they will never stay down barring near total destruction. Making their worlds near impossible to truly invade.

However that is not always the case on planet. As the Undead expand their armies go beyond their network. Depriving them of the usual bounty of sorcerous energy to fuel their revival. They still possess other methods to do so, but it is not as powerful or as rapid. Machines in particular seem to suffer from this. Having always been slower than their organic counterparts to rise again. This noticeably slowed down the mechanical legions as they advanced. Yes they could build new infrastructure quickly, but true support like in their home territory took extensive time even for them.

Unfortunately the Necrotects soon realized this problem. So they came up with a method to help get their machines up faster. They designed a new engineering unit who's purpose was to aid the others. Originally the Builder unit was proposed, but it was shot down. They needed a more robust unit for the dangers of field work. Something that could work and fight rapidly in short order. So the FRU was created.

An FRU appears as a multi-tentacled creature, with its head the size of a man, with multiple sensors that moves effortlessly through the air. It possesses twelve of these appendages. Each being able to shift through different tools and lethal metal claws. Not only do they possess these powerful appendages, but wield a powerful laser weapon on the bottom of their chassis. One capable of cutting through aircraft and smaller tanks alike. From it's torso come several smaller insectoids like limbs. These are conduits for work droid power. For within the hull is a necromantic crystal that provides energy to facilitate resurrection. All together the machine can rapidly get its fallen comrades back in working order.

At the same time it often acts as an attack unit when needed. Claws tearing through grown men with ease. Being able to rip an Ogryn In half. Frequently intercepting shuttles and other aircraft in the sky. While it's laser rips through tank armor.

The chassis is lined with a number of runes. One effect is to negate it's weight and increase it's speed. A second is to increase durability on all fronts. A third to manage temperature and ensure there is no heat build up. Finally a sequence to prevent the environment from interfering with it. Such as high wind and moisture.

If we have Gunpowder, we maybe able to pull a Vampire Coast Bloted Corpes for our zombies. It would make one heck of a chaff clearing weapon.

Runic Circuitry: This form of technology is one of the most widespread in the entire Ascendancy. If it can really be called such. I believe I previously mentioned just what Runecraft is in another transmission. It is only now that I received more in depth details about it. Still I feel that the basics bear repeating.

Rune craft is in a way akin to the sorcerous version of programming. Nothing like the messy scrap code of Chaos or the venerable machine spirits. It lacks the method to truly corrupt thankfully. Though it is still highly flexible and dangerous. In short it introduces and enforces a specific phenomenon once engraved. Then it is ignited with arcane energy to activate the effect. So long as the fine work persists the effect will be far longer lasting than any other known sorcerous effect. Far more stable and less costly too.

These effects can be any number of things. One would be greatly enhancing the durability of the device in question. Another would be enforcing the concept of cold on it. Reducing any form of heat production by the mechanisms. Greatly extending its time of use. A third one would be to greatly reduce the weight or pull of gravity on the artifact. A fourth still would be to serve as an amplifier for any form of sorcery. Essentially any number of effects could be possible with sufficient runework and energy.

Which leads to the runic circuitry. The Ascendancy has a fondness for engraving runes into a wide variety of machines. Using them in combination with advanced technology to produce terrible effects. This allows them to instill all manner of effects among them. It also means that they can exert other effects on the field. For one runic circuitry is how the Necrotects control their creations.

As you all know machine intelligence has always been a touchy subject for the Imperium. Leftover scars from the Dark Age of Technology. Especially those left by the Men of Iron. The Silica Anima that nearly destroyed all of mankind back then. Since then AI has been banned for good reason. Whether due to its own corrupt nature or the risk of Chaos corruption is up for debate. Which leads us to depend on the machine spirits to properly function. Unfortunately they are unusual and fickle entities at the best of times.

Which lies in how the Ebony Steel legions function. The fact of it being they have no intelligence of their own. Sure the runework and cogitators allow for some degree of intelligence. Threat assessment, simple problem solving, and networking with each other for example. Still there is no actual intelligence behind them. Rather they are all controlled by the minds of their masters. Relays of hextech design allows a single strong mind to directs large armies of these machines.

Midnight TTS Episode 1: The Reveal
Omake: Midnight TTS Episode 1: The Reveal

Kitten stumbles into the throne room. He looks exhausted and annoyed greatly despite being completely covered in armor.

The Emperor: Where the fuck have you been you overgrown gilded banana man? You said you just needed to run some paperwork down to the clerks. It has been six freaking hours.

Kitten: (Making appeasing gestures) My apologies my lord, but I ran into some delays on the way. The elevator was out of order and the tech priests were unavailable to fix it. So I had to go the long way through the hallways and stairs. Again the palace is massive in scale. Then it took a while to get a hold of the clerk I needed. Then I had to hide from my brothers for an hour and a half. After that I climbed back up here.

The Emperor: (Annoyed) Those fucking oiled up strippers. I thought I told them to put on their armor and be at least somewhat respectable. I guess that was too much to ask though. Anyway as my living encyclopedia I have a question for you.

Kitten: (Perking up) Of course, my lord I will answer to the best of my ability.

The Emperor: Fucking automaton. Alright what the hell is that ominous fucking swathe of shadow over in the Ultima Segmentum? The really big one that is centered around the Ghoul Stars. I noticed it a while back and it seems to get bigger whenever I am not looking at it.

Kitten: (Grimacing) Oh that my lord. That would be the corruption of the Dark Dragon you're seeing.

The Emperor: (Growing annoyed) The what? I am going to need more than that you golden yes man. Need I remind you that I have been stuck on this damn toilet for the last ten thousand years. The only dragon I know is that asshole C'tan. I would know if it was him and if he was out and about again. It would be kind of hard to miss Mars exploding or otherwise coming apart.

Kitten: (Rapidly growing concerned) What was that about Mars my lord?

The Emperor: (Waving it off) Nevermind that part it is not important. Answer the fucking question already.

Kitten: (Obeying) Well my lord the Dark Dragon is a monstrous and terrible entity. A new evil god that became known to us about three hundred years ago. That dark patch you mentioned is it's influence in the Warp. A reflection of the territory it has seized since then.

The Emperor: (Rapidly growing annoyed and angry) What? Your telling me that yet another asshole god has shown up to fuck over mankind. Great just great. As if I did not have enough shit to deal with already. And you didn't bring this up earlier?

Kitten: (Bowing apologetically) I'm sorry my lord, but it didn't seem relevant before now.

The Emperor: (Still annoyed) Alright from now on tell me about this kind of shit before I have to ask. You fucking moron. So what is this new asshole's name?

Kitten: (Shifting warily) It's servants refer to it as Dracul my lord.

@Alucard Vampiry

I have no claim on the tts series or anything to do with the Warhammer franchise.

Oh...this is going to be fucking good Ancient...this is going to be DAMN good with Dracul in 40k.

Dont forget we MIGHT end up pulling in the other order gods to fight chaos on even ground, with the Empire gods+dwarven gods+Elven gods fucking about getting shit fixed.

I mean the high elves alone would style on the fucking eldar for being such assholes. Loec would clown on chegorach (if not absorb the construct to become even greater then before), lets also not forget the Dawi becoming a space empire would be utter bullshit with the ancestor gods guiding them.

And then comes the mortal gods of mankind...Sigmar making a appearance to talk with E (being a intermediate god and trying to get E's help in fighting chaos, because Dracul being a greater god can mostly handle most of the shit).

the explanation of what they are and how the fuck they got here will be LEGENDARY!
___
Plan time!

Theres a few problems with this plan:
for starters we have numbers in the millions now, and fortresses no matter how big are designed to be defended in depth, otherwise the enemy army and occupy parts of it and not suffer retaliation, so surrounding the fortress in 4 directions would be good.

second using the black knights as fodder for the walls is not a good idea, but think of medeival tactics here, Knights are walking tanks of the battle-field, meant to take ground and not hold it. The Grave-guard are our holding forces while skeletons can focus on keeping the chaos heads down and keeping our rear secure.

What i propose is that we split the army into 5 parts, and use a 2 wave tactic to ensure we are not attacked in the rear by those trying to reinforce the fort.

use a X formation when attcking the fort, heres what were working with:
- Undead: 5,354,025 Skeleton Warriors; 3,522,614 Zombies; 13,710,705 Grave Guard; 16,326,673 Black Knights; 153 Undead Giants
- Magical Forces: 90 Necromancers

so what we should do is by splitting our forces into 5 groups (one group will be attacking the gates, while the rest assault the walls in the best positions)

Using a mix of Barrage and charge here, each force should contain: (have any excess groups hanging in the back such as decimal number units)
1,070,805 skeleton warriors
704,522 zombies
2,742,141 grave guard
3,265,334 Black Knights
30 undead Giants
18 necromancers
(the remainder are to be used as to plug in holes and such)

now for the fighting combat, we know that zombies are chaff to be thrown aside, as in we have untold numbers of the buggers back in wallachia, so having them make a rampart would be ideal here. However, @RookDeSuit is correct in getting the black knights up on the walls, but i prefer to keep half of each assaults numbers back in order to ensure no attacks in the rear, so once the seige begins have the zombies make the rampart while the black knights attack the walls, the grave-guard will walk (after being split in 2) after them to hold the ground taken by the black knights as they back them up.

the skeletons and giants would again keep up the pressure of siegeing the enemy so they cant fight back, with the giants focusing on either siege engines the fortress has (or towers), and the skeletons firing at anything in the sky OR keeping the enemy pinned by arrow fire on a constant basis.

add in 10 necromancers from each side dispeling any magic thrown at us, the other 4 buffing our forces, and the last four throwing curses and dark magic at the defenders should allow for magical combat to be dealt with in good order.

now this is for the 4 sides combat...for the gate-house this is going to be VERY diffrent as the giants are going to concentrate on breach the gate-house or collapsing it in total with rocks+magical enhancement, so 10 necromancers throwing curses while the other 8 are focusing on dispeling the magic. Once the gatehouse is breached or collapsed, then the black knights charge in with the zombie horde and grave guard moving in. All the while arrow fire is shooting at them.

so a plan like this @RookDeSuit
[ ] Plan: Divide and Conquer
-[ ]Group 1-4
1,070,805 skeleton warriors
704,522 zombies
2,742,141 grave guard
3,265,334 Black Knights
30 undead Giants
18 necromancers
--[ ] attack the walls with a combination of barrage and zombie pile-climb, Giants are to focus on towers and siege engines while skeleton warriors are to barrage the walls and any aerial forces with arrows. Necromancers are to be divided into 10 being on dispeling/banishing duty, 4 on buffing the undead, and the last 4 on throwing curses at the enemy forces. Black knights are to take ground while the grave-guard come to back them up, ensure that the forces are split in two (two waves just in case things get hairy)

-[ ] Group 5
1,070,805 skeleton warriors
704,522 zombies
2,742,141 grave guard
3,265,337 Black Knights
33 undead Giants
18 necromancers
--[ ] Attack the Gatehouse with a combination of barrage and magical attacks, using the giants and skeletons to aim for the gatehouse and its defenders, once the gate is breach and the gatehouse itself a wreck, then zombies will swarm to provide a ramp for the black knights to charge in, while the Grave guard will follow suit for the harsh duty of punching through the lines by grinding them down. 18 necromancers on dispelling/banishing duty this time, to ensure that chaos cannot fully send daemons or other worse things at us.

this will be a grueling siege, but this is aimed at the chaos forces morale, if we take this then MAYBE we can force the ever-chosen to come down early on or be facing a mutiny by the other forces of chaos for allowing us to take this sacred place and burning it to the ground, though if we do this I'm pretty sure were going to be seeing allot of chaos raids over the next few years, but even then them getting through very angry sea-type dragons will be a grueling exercise of doom, considering they can just aim at the bottom of the hulls and let the forces of chaos drown in the oceans.
