Sure the Imperial Politics had a lot of voters going for it, but the Necromancy faction has spirit!

Boney's long had a basic maxim of "putting a spell into a small item is harder than a larger item", so I'm fairly confident a ring is harder than a gauntlet, or even a bit of metal that attaches to a gauntlet.

Not that this is particularly relevant to the spell idea, which I rather like.
Instead of a ring, a full arm bracelet thing?

[X] Kill: Branulhune

There ain't no kill like overkill. And if he's got some protective spells on him then Kragg's "watch me flex on Thorek" rune will finally get a chance to shine.

Most implementations of this wouldn't get around only being in one place at once, merely making it so that travel time between places is effectively instant. For a human to be working on two different things in two different places at the same time would require radically altering the nature of their consciousness, and the list of beings and powers capable of making those alterations is very Daemon-y.

I see. An effectively instant travel spell would still be very neat, but we probably simply don't have time to spend on developing it. If it was in any way easy it would have been created long ago by one High Elf or another.

For the sake of argument, what about "Mother of Learning"-style Simulacrum spell? A weakened, temporary, soulless magical construct created in your image that nevertheless possesses a fully functional copy of your mind.

If it can make its own decisions its a daemon

What kind of response time are we looking at from the Soldiers, if the first strike doesn't kill The Target and we start dueling?

If Mathilde calls for reinforcements, Regimand will probably be there within the minute and the Taalites will start arriving soon after that.

Not a warp entity in any way.

Anything that can think and doesn't have a soul is free real estate for Daemons.

Time for some shilling: If we had completed the apparition spell we could probably have used an Apparition death squad to support us.

Ah, that makes sense. A pity.

Does this mean that all thinking undead have a soul of their own?
Vampires are souls bound to their body, as are Liches, and I think Mummies are too (though with less secure bindings) but I'm not certain on that one.

All other forms of intelligent undead I can think of are just souls, without the body.

Is there a category I'm missing?

I think that raising any Nehekharan undead, including even skeletons, involves invoking a soul from the Underworld.

"Introducing Universal Soul Plug and Play, the driving force behind the new, easy-to-use necromancy network. Making necromancy as accessible to tomorrow's magic-users as cantrips are to today's."

Rewritten from a turn-of-the-millennium CES advertisement.

I feel like most Grey wizards are more like realistic irl spies, meanwhile Mathilde is the explosions everywhere James Bond kind of spy.
I mean, our master had a running battle with a tzeentchian sorcerer through half the Empire, faked a spectacular failure to lure it close and then killed it.

That's not the most subtle mission either...
