Not entirely happy with the compromise plan but it's better than some of the options and doesn't do Lay the Foundations to boot so I'll approval vote it.

[X] Plan Compromise
[X] Plan Starting up debt free

I'd like to have a starting/fallback point for our snooping that Alric can't just trivially invalidate with Hysh.
If we are worried by Alric's ability to see through our sneaking, we could just go full elephantine school of grey wizardry. Travel there and start asking question without caring about people knowing we are asking them. What is Alric gonna do, fight us ? Also I imagine a grey wizard asking about you can't be good for your political image, so we'd be killing two birds ,with one stone.

I think Mira expects some degree of discretion and it would behoove us not to be caught too obviously... since you know taking sides in another College's politics is a bad look. Not saying it is going to be a disaster to be found out or anything but we probably should not flaunt who we are and what we are looking for.

Hey just a quick curiosity questtion, is taking a college class multiple times viable?

Also i really think it would be best to use the gambler for both waystone scrutinizing and starting the the project so,

[x] Plan Waystone scrutiny, payments promised and Wind herding

Huh. For all the plans, there is not a single one that has both eonir trade and Quinsberry.

Guess I have to make my own.

[X] Plan Quinsberry Compromise
-[X] MAX: Study an artefact: Kurgan enchanted weapons
-[X] EGRIMM: Attempt a Windherder enchantment with Egrimm
--[X] Shadowsteed & Clarity, allowing the user to ride all night without sleep
-[X] WEB-MAT: Investigate Gryphon Wood with one or more members of WEB-MAT (JOHANN)
-[x] Personally scrutinize a Waystone as thoroughly as you possibly can.
-[X] Explore one of the Wards of Laurelorn (Frost)
-[X] Investigate Alric
-[X] EIC: Investigate what trade goods the Eonir might be willing to import from the Empire.
-[X] Library: Seek an agreement with a Cult to have access to their libraries (Quinsberry)
-[X] SERENITY: Write a paper: Observations of Johann's prosthetic arm (FRESH)
-[X] COIN: The Protector

Built off of political protector, mostly, because I liked the wind herding and I liked the protector coin in the mini adventure turn.

Did we ever have some of those?😅 Since the moment I joined the quest, I've had the impression of always being swarmed by things to do😁

I mean we have always had things to do, but there have been turns with little or even now actual for work project. The turn where Belegar asked for an anti-Dragon measure and we unloaded in on the Ambers comes to mind. Or the post-expedition turn where we had no actual project at all since it was out last as loremaster.

It's looking too late to matter, but here's the updated Plan Stacking Advantages. I'm swapping both the MAX action for Rituals, and the Ward of Frost action from Exploring to direct Recruitment. I hope the latter isn't seen as overstepping myself, but it's basically the same intent of action.

[X] Plan Stacking Advantages
-[X] MAX: Learning: Rituals from the colleges. Mathilde pays gold costs.
-[X] WEB-MAT: Investigate Alric with one or more members of WEB-MAT (JOHANN)
--[X] COIN: The Gambler
-[X] WEB-MAT: Investigate Gryphon Wood with one or more members of WEB-MAT (EGRIMM)
-[X] Personally scrutinize a Waystone as thoroughly as you possibly can.
-[X] Lay the foundations: work with the current members of WEB-MAT and the Waystone Project to build a single unified framework for understanding the Waystones.
-[X] Attempt to bring a Major House or Ward into the Waystone Project (Frost)
-[X] EIC: Try to uncover what's going on in Gryphon's Wood.
-[X] LIBRARY: Seek an agreement with a Cult to have access to their libraries (Verenans)
-[X] SERENITY: Write a paper: Observations of Johann's prosthetic arm (FRESH)

[X] Plan Pickle's Political Protector Proposal
[X] Plan Compromise

Plan Compromise seems fine for what it does for the most part, something of a pity not to lay the foundations this turn, but for what it does it's solid with most of the actions. The only one that really doesn't seem suitable is the Verenan one. I just don't see us getting a deal we'd like with it at this stage, so we either say no deal and lose the action and potentially make deals in the future more difficult, or we get stick with a deal going into the future that's leveraged strongly against us.

I'm still open to altering that, since library purchases are a pretty minor aspect of the plan.

That said, I'm not sure what I would switch it to? Bretonnia doesn't seem likely to have much of interest to me and our negotiating position is just as bad as the Verenans, and I don't think we have the ties to the Quinsbury lodge for that to be a reasonable action.

Is it just Bretonnia you're not interested in or any foreign acquisition contacts? As we're probably pretty well set up for inroads into Tilea, considering the heavy influence it had on the Undumgi population, plus Francesco.

Huh. I hadn't considered it, but yeah, I'd be very open to getting Tilean ties for the library - especially given that during the roughly equivalent IRL time period, there was a tremendous amount of movement into book collections in Italy.

The suggestion wasn't for the Lodge, it was for the priesthood. I don't think the Lodge members are priests, and I strongly believe that there exists a following beyond them.

Hmm. Did some digging, and I think I'm coming around on Quinsberry. We do have indirect halfling ties through K8P, and more pertinently K8P already has a major halfling presence that would likely be happy to have a copy of their important records on hand.

The thing is, I want the Verenans to know about the Library early and interacting with it early, even at the cost of 'bang for your buckness'.

once past the early suspicions, they are the people that will be most gun-ho about helping and applying for jobs or even offering support of their own volition (later... and obviously not that sub-cult) once they realise that A) we are being honest about the 'for everyone' bit, B) want to do something that will really help human history and study that hasnt been done before. and C) see the 'hollllllyyyyyyy Shiiiiittttt!!!!' level of funding that we will be getting from the dwarfs.
