Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.

The vote tally seems to be collating separate Task votes. Something it's explicitly not supposed to do. If I sort by "None" I see vote blocks containing the following:

[] [DWARF] No purchase.
[] [DWARF] No purchase.
[] [DWARF] No purchase.

Which IIRC isn't supposed to happen; the different Task names are supposed to force the different "No purchase." votes to be separate.

[X] [PURCHASE] A fancy sun hat for Pan
Yep, the Tally seems to be a bit glitched right now.

EDIT: Checking something:

[X] [college] No purchase.

EDIT EDIT: Seems to be fine now.........?

I think you have to divide it by Line or it gets wonky.
By Task was working fine. Line seems to be working now too though (wasn't earlier).

I think me manually dividing the categories up may have accidentally fixed it though. That's the box that currently says Library,Dwarf,College,Purchase for future reference. That's how to format them (comma dividers, no spaces)

Maybe it was getting confused trying to sort them on its own.

That's why I made a single vote for [college] no purchase, to see if it would count only that. It seems to be.

I read their argument earlier and it seemed correct, but if a better plan comes up I want to flex over to it, and I may not be able to give it the attention it deserves so vote-tracking it is - I trust pickle to change if there's good reason to.

I mean, to all the people namevoting me, I'm currently voting for both library plans because I wrote both plans* and am honestly divided about the benefits of "maxing out the Imperial bonus right from the start helps us start strong" vs. "all the really good shit isn't written down to begin with and we might want those 4 CF for something else." I'm deeply flattered by all your trust, but seriously, currently my entire life is "the move I am doing" and I'm not even thinking that clearly on that, so if you decide "one of these is clearly superior to the other and Pickle is an out-of-touch old man for not recognizing it," I won't be hurt, really. I guess if someone comes up with a dynamic genius plan that I throw my weight behind, having a legion of namevoters helps it get traction, but I certainly won't be engaging in any acts of genius any time soon, and so namevoting me doesn't actually change anything at this point besides making my heart grow an additional size (seriously, this is very touching).

*Though Jyn is the one who suggested the merits of Geography and I incorporated it into my CF-less plan rather than grab two extra points of Beastmen from Bretonnia, since more maps of the Empire should come in handy for this.

Fine - I'll make my own decision then.

Ekes out a lead, normally I'd be all for the spending college favour option, but with the Great Library about to come into existence and the potential of a new bankroll from our new employers I'm willing to wait.

Fine, I'll do it myself

On a completely different subject, I was just thinking about what sort of familiar Pan might eventually pick up, and what would be the cutest complement to Wolf. I'm kinda thinking a white ferret? Something that pan could wear as a scarf and could also ride wolf?

I'd have guessed herbivores were more common with the Jades, a bit more directly connected to their core Thing.

Fascinating. Votes formatted like this are actually getting sorted correctly into the [library] category. Tally is smarter than expected.
But what happens if I...

[X] No purchase.

Edit: Added straight to [dwarf] category, even if the categories are shuffled so another comes first. Some kind of precedence thing I guess. But not a linear one.

More confused than when I started, but it doesn't seem to be causing any issues.

Idk- cats or ferrets as the defenders of granaries from rats and other pests is pretty strongly associated with agriculture and the growing of tamed things? Like the way dogs would be gyrhan instead of ghur.

Are different animal familiars tied to a specific wind? I assumed if an animal has potential to be a familiar it could attune to a wizard of any wind.
How common is it for a wizard to have a familiar anyways?

Maxes out Eonir and Waystones, brings us to a +6 on Beastmen. 4 CF out of pocket.

[X] [DWARF] No purchase.

[X] [COLLEGE] No purchase.

[X] [PURCHASE] No purchase.

I want everything on beastmen, I still want to know if my Karag Dum theory was correct.
BoneyM probably still has the correct guesses bookmarked, and I want to know.
Someday, I will fulfill my plan on having Mathilde become the quest giver and send a team of plucky adventurers to find out what happened there.

[X] [PURCHASE] A fancy sun hat for Pan

Important.

Since our big project is about waystones, I think the best thing to do is get as much reading material on it as possible.

No, except for Gold and Amethyst Wizards being unable to have them.

More so among Jades and Ambers than the other Orders, and more common for sedentary scholars than travelling adventurers. Some see it as a poor investment, as it's a significant amount of work or expense for something with a mind of its own.

Whereas when we polled our cohort of sedentary traveling adventurous scholars, they love their Wolf and consider it an excellent investment of time and scritchies.

"So they're happier than the other Old Holds, which are doing 'better' by Dwarf standards but are still miserable, and you said Karak Vlag seemed in good spirits despite their circumstances."
I couldn't quite parse this, with the switch from singular to plural. Azul is the happiest Old Hold, got it.
But who are the other Old Holds doing 'better' than, in this case? I thought they were doing 'worst'?

Sending a plucky team of Warhammer RPG (ex-)ratcatchers, barbers and agitators deep into the Chaos Wastes isn't going to produce much in the way of successful academia, I don't think.
Still, (non-suicidal) Inscrutiable Grey Wizard mission-giving to Plucky Young Hopefuls, Accomplished!
You shake your head. "Not in recent years. There's still enemy strongholds nearby, Iron Rock and Thunder Mountain and Black Crag and the like, but that would be rather overambitious." You give it some thought. "If nothing else is stirring there might be work in southern Stirland, where the Dwarves are building the canal. The Black Water is full of nasties that might be stirred up by the construction, Karak Varn is uncomfortably close, there's still survivors from the Ghoul Woods in the area. You should be able to pick up some straightforward bounties. Or you could come back out here. Karak Vlag is going to need to rebuild its ties with the greater world, and the Dukhlys Forest is home to a fair number of Forest Goblins, and I'm sure Snorri would be happy to have you helping out the Redbeards."

"Wouldn't mind working with Dwarves again," Barbitus says thoughtfully.

"Good pay and decent food," Citharus agrees. "We'll keep those in mind."
More in the CRPG Exclamation-point marked, multiple quest describing NPC mode, but still.
Even warned them that Sylvania was a High Level Zone for powerful, combat-specced wizards.

Last time this came up, we settled that sending a team of 13 dwarfs and one halfling is the ideal.
And while it's the wrong game for it, old wizards giving quests is a genre classic that we should aspire to
