You mean veggie-warpstone?Shyish and Chamon mushrooms? Bah I say, Bah! Dhar mushrooms is where we should be aiming.
There's a terrible idea for the skaven to get their hands on.

Dwarf logic says:Pretty sure the blade is hers since Codrin wasn't there to participate.
Out of character sounds like 'yes, it prevents decay'.Very high Shyish levels tend to result in more dried, shrivelled, 'mummified' corpses. The exact mechanics of why this is is unknown, and successfully investigating would require a better grasp of microbiology than the Empire currently has.
I hadn't intended this to be gendered (a bit like you'd say the "Realms of Men" and not mean to exclude women) but on review Thorek uses "descendants of Thungi" on turn 28, so corrected.Only critique is here. I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure that any descendant of Thungi can potentially learn Runesmithing, male or female.
Darn it I thought I'd caught all the switches. Thank you for pointing that out, I think they're fixed now.First off, @Humbaba , really liked your omake! There was some unexpected switches between second and third person perspective (she vs you) early on before you settled into 'you', but the letters were note-perfect and I liked the way you made the journey feel torturously long.
But ooc we know that living beings (bacteria) is needed for decomposition, and shysh prevents bacteria from reproducing...Out of character sounds like 'yes, it prevents decay'.
That makes sense, even if it doesn't help.
... that's what I just said? The corpse would still dry out and mummify, but not rot. It's in keeping with what we know... but the why is not understood in universe. But ooc we know that living beings (bacteria) is needed for decomposition, and shysh prevents bacteria from reproducing...
All you get is oxidation

The spellbook in the threadmarks only includes non battle magic, in terms of battle magic Jades are ridiculous healers. Their Lore Attribute (equivalent to Smoke and Mirrors for us) lets them heal themselves or others everytime they cast a spell (assume battle magic spell), and they have Earthblood and Regrowth, two very strong healing spells. The odd thing is that all of that is restricted to Battle Magic and weaker variants aren't available for some reason.Well... uh... accelerated regrowth requires a good deal of precision to result in healing rather than megacancer or something, while going all 'you are now restored to your perfect form' is a simple application of Sufficient Magic.
... still kind of odd the Jade College doesn't have some healing spells - a less powerful/longer cast but versatile sort of thing?
Their healing being effective but difficult to wield would fit with that. The spellbook in the threadmarks only includes non battle magic, in terms of battle magic Jades are ridiculous healers. Ah, well I got the list of battle magic spells from the Collection of Important Information threadmark under College Rep, which has a list of battle magics. It had this:Their healing being effective but difficult to wield would fit with that.
Earthblood is also in their non-battle spell list, but it's self-only.
Being fair this is an enchantment, so maybe the base spell only heals you but the enchantment also heals others.Earthblood (10 favors): You grant yourself and nearby allies regeneration.
I think there's a Relatively Simple 'Heals you over time' version and a Battlemagic 'heals you and the formation you're embedded in, fast enough to be combat-relevant'.Being fair this is an enchantment, so maybe the base spell only heals you but the enchantment also heals others.
This reminds me of the Bright College having a Moderately complicated spell named "Fire Ball" and a Battle Magic spell called "Fireball".I think there's a Relatively Simple 'Heals you over time' version and a Battlemagic 'heals you and the formation you're embedded in, fast enough to be combat-relevant'.
Hmm... I wonder if we can convince some pyromancer to create the spells 'fireball', 'FIREBALL', 'fire Ball', and 'Fire ball'?This reminds me of the Bright College having a Moderately complicated spell named "Fire Ball" and a Battle Magic spell called "Fireball".
This is one thing I hate about the Colleges.
At least one of those should be a spell that makes certain dance choreographies more energetic and exciting.Hmm... I wonder if we can convince some pyromancer to create the spells 'fireball', 'FIREBALL', 'fire Ball', and 'Fire ball'?
Flame In Rightfully Exquisite Ball Allowing Ludicrous LuminationHmm... I wonder if we can convince some pyromancer to create the spells 'fireball', 'FIREBALL', 'fire Ball', and 'Fire ball'?
Well, in the Quest canon many Colleges are atrocious with naming things. Doylist explanation is simple - battle magic and "normal" magic lists are from two different products - battle magic is from the tactical game with miniatures (what most people imagine when someone says "Warhammer"), while normal magic is from the RPG. Some spells (like fireball) are so iconic for the College in question that both products have some version of it. QM just decided that in those instances it is not the same spell, but two different spells, similar in name and purpose, but different in power level. This reminds me of the Bright College having a Moderately complicated spell named "Fire Ball" and a Battle Magic spell called "Fireball".

Can i interest you in fireballs and fireBalls? Two different bedroom enhancers brought to you by the bright college.Hmm... I wonder if we can convince some pyromancer to create the spells 'fireball', 'FIREBALL', 'fire Ball', and 'Fire ball'?
There is a decent portion of the thread that would absolutely do something like this on purpose (including me), so I'm not surprised that someone would call their spell that. It's not unrealistic either, scientists/academia has an
