I missed the prc discussion but funnily enough we have access to a few due to looting books.

Content: Several minor spells of desert magic (all level 1-2 arcane spells from Sandstorm), knowledge of ancient Qathi courtesies that may serve when encountering constructs or lingering spirits of the Red Waste (+2 Diplomacy), ability to train Sand-Shapers.
Here's the demon caller's iron bound tome. I did not include the spells because there is nothing in there you guys do not already have access to from buying and in the case of these spells you would have to spend research actions to eliminate the corruption associated with the incantations. That said the wild magic also needs some research to get, but at least that's a full class you guys can train mages in:

Iron-bound Tome
Iron-bound Tome (Demon-caller's Spellbook)

By: Cultist of Abraxas

Description: A book with covers wrought of thin sheets of black pitted iron marked with the sign of Abraxas. Though there is no lock binding the pages, the tome refuses to open. Even if with all the strength of your dragon-blooded form it feels like you are trying to move a mountain with your bare hands.

Contents: As one peruses the first few pages the reader finds much of what one expects, knowing the history of the tome, spells of conjuring and and evocation with prayers to the Lord of the Final Incantation wound around them a poisoned vine around the trunk of an old and withered tree, but as the pages turn the madness within them grows, a malign desire to not only cast spells but wield the fires of magic raw and untamed. Is it the fel influence of the Pit, or the madness that had lead the nameless acolyte to pledge his service to so foul a master? Though none can know for certain the insights into the nature of wild magic are certainly unique. perhaps worth exploring if one finds a patch of barren wasteland to do so in. Grants the ability to train Wild Mages.

Gained Access to the Blood Magus Prestige Class
Gained Access to Prestige Class: Lesser Runesmith
Rare Lore
  1. Eldritch Bestiaries (Roll twice to identify beings of the Far Realm and take the higher result; if both fail one gains misleading information*)
  2. Compilations of the Inner Eye (Allows characters of level 5 or higher to exchange one of their feats for Psychic Sensitivity if they fulfill the prerequisites of obtaining the feat)
  3. Tome of Dark Fire (Can train Darkfire Adepts)
A few might be really niche (Sandshapers and Darkfire Apepts) but Veiled Illusionists would be a boon for the Inquisition and Runesmiths would be super useful class. Iirc there were a few people who wanted Leila to promote into that.

Every evil overlord needs a private volcano island. ;)
We should properly deck the place out when we have a minute. Part of it can be used for a dragon spa, then we can zone the rest to use for exotic nonsense like a pool of downscaled Oil Sharks.

Just imagine giving a supervillain speech to someone while tossing treats (i.e chunks of bloody meat) to a school of blind oily black sharks swimming in a massive pool of lava.

Those are quite common on the Sea of Fire so you know where to find them at least.

It's neat in general, but I could never see Tarly as an Illusionist.
He'd be good in a technical sense, but he lacks the confidence to sell his illusions.
And Runecaster is divine.

... why would you downscale them ...?

Ok. I can think of a reason. Decorative fishies for a burning "aqua"rium. But the man-eaters should be properly augmented with templates.

I didn't mean making them fully miniature or something, just taking them from huge to large so that we'd be able to keep a respectably sized school in the area of the volcano.

Having full on huge sized ones would be great if we actually have the room to support them.

If the volcanoes are not big enough, you make bigger volcanoes.

We are calling ourselves "Imperator". You should adjust your measurements of proper supervillany.

But!

If we keep them huge, they are large enough that we could put Lantern Archons in place of their eyes (no big deal since they seem to be blind).
So, we could have Oilsharks with frikkin laser beams.

Finally back!

I cannot say how much I missed this quest, this site and most of all you guys. I was keeping all my tabs open so it was a bit like looking at ghosts for three days. I've also had this message up since the first ETA came up. I'm not sure if I will manage an update today simply because I am going to need some time to re-familiarize myself with where we were and what we were doing. Part of me wonders if I should save the story posts somewhere on my hard disk simply so I can at least keep working on background when the site goes down, but it is rather a long series of posts to archive.

With that out of the way onwards and upwards.

Finally back! FFS, that seemed to take forever. I wasn't consciously aware of how much time I spend here each day until SV went dark for three days.

I probably refreshed the status page a thousand times since Sunday (if not more...).

Missed you crazy bastards.

The site is still running with the speed of molasses for me , but I seem to recall where we are now at least. Next update is likely to be more of a bridge update while I get my bearings wholly though.

And not reasonable, room temperature molasses, either, but the stuff that has been refrigerated to nearly freezing.

A watched pot never boils? Pfft, a watched rating button never activates!
