He is saying 'Look if you had at least as much honor as the savages you would now be at a place of honor, with gold in your treasury from rich trades and maybe your mother would not be dead either. Must be tough being a traitor '
That story must also be very evocative to Reachmen, since the Fields of Fire is the preeminent westerosi example of someone going and getting themselves burned to death by a dragon on the field of battle, but with honor and stuff.

It also happens to contrast with Mace never actually taking the field against anything that could possibly beat him, neither in the Rebellion nor against the fae trying to steal his land out from under him.

A big 'if you wanted some respect, you only had to do what was expected of you, you didn't even need to succeed' vibe.

A less merciful despot would have burned the Tyrells root and stem and in a full blown war between the Court of Stars and us the Tyrells would must certainly be the 1st to die first.

Suck it up Mace.

Bloodraven has a Valerian Dragon familiar... so a familiar with a capped intelligence...

That brings to mind the Mauler familiar archetype (it trades a familiar's increases to INT for increases to STR). However, it also trades away the familiar's touch spells ability for the ability to become medium sized. Which can be very useful for using your average tiny familiar in combat, but is... less helpful for your average Valerian Dragon.

And it trades a Familiar's Spell Resistance for 5DR/magic, so it probably wouldn't be worth it. Oh well.

If only Bloodraven could make Deathwind a Familiar Animal Companion Mount for all the illegal cheese.

These were the ones with no real holders. I believe there were some plans to make stony shore an industrial area and there are a few Reacher areas that may have be turned to governorships. Skagos...it's Skagos. We could just hand that to the Fire Outsider we plopped there and leave it...which I am inclined to do

Those are all definitely going to be governorships, last but not least to ensure that the Curia is balanced properly.

Mace apparently learned that lesson too well and not well enough.
While it is folly to face someone stronger than you and avoiding needless death by NOT suicidal chasing of those impossible threats is merely commonsense. It is also true that lords and knights are only valuable because of that ensured loyalty and willingness to serve. ESPECIALLY in times such as these.
While during times of need you are too valuable and powerful to dismiss. Being a fence sitter does not make people inclined to trust you during times of plenty.

In his defense you don't expect the complete and utter defeat of your closest allies to happen so suddenly and with so little warning.
Good game Mace. Shrewd but not wise. Your loyalty has forever become questionable and the trust you loss will be impossible to regain.
Walder Frey was cunning..... His situation having greatly improved because of his gamble.

Where exactly is the Payne lands are? If it's in the Golden Mountains territory then wouldn't Viserys need to make a judgment on it?

[X] Finding new lords for the seats and lands left vacant that you do not wish to keep
I think there were a bunch of loyal knights we had playing bandit in the Riverlands who are deserving of some rewards after they took a great deal of risk raising the Dragon banner so close to the Westerlands at the height of Lanister power no less and immediate aide from the dragon king an uncertain prospect should the golden shields had come after them in force faster than we could respond , such loyalty must be rewarded not to mention rising a few favored knights to the empty lordships would go a good way to calming the nobles
