We were confirmed to have access to this template, anyone have any ideas on how to use it? The aesthetic is unpleasant, to be certain, but we do plenty of blood sacrifice as it is.
After some research, we could lean into it and give this template to the Kapre, as it scales of Charisma and Kapres have 18 Charisma base.
@DragonParadox So question for you. Fire & Blood in-universe a rough manuscript from some of Archmaester Gyldayn's work--allegedly. They were 'discovered' by one Maester Yandel, who wrote some pretty damning Lannister propaganda The World of Ice and Fire that, in the nature of all things Maesterly, staunchly claims to be apolitical while being so absurdly partisan that it's almost in abject poor taste from a "modern" perspective, as anyone reading this in the year 300 AC circa Purple Wedding could peruse the sections touching on House Targaryen and House Lannister and compare how obviously biased it is, without the rose-tint of history obscuring some very obvious facts, which can, as you imagine, illuminate how all the histories through the long reigns of various Kings have conflicting accounts or murky details.
Controversially, Fire and Blood IRL repaints some of the background details of Jaehaerys' reign and shows the sordid details of his court, not trying to obscure his competency or some of the more well-accounted highlights, the big weddings, the decrees and international politics, but definitely claiming definitive sources about interpersonal interactions that are eyebrow raising, like Jaehaerys callous disregard for Alysanne even when she called a halt to any more pregnancies and she died of childbirth... as his own mother Alyssa died the same way.
To some of the outright wink-wink nudge-nudge going on with implying he was lusting after teenage girls (Alicent) or his own daughters.
So I can't help but think, The World of Ice and Fire is about six years out from now IC, and he started writing it shortly after the Greyjoy Rebellion while discovering articles of "Gyldayn's work" and I use quotes because again, I don't put it past Yandel to fabricate something to sling a little mud around on the few Targaryen monarchs who actually have a touch of a good reputation still without being called a complete hack by his peers. And it was a "commented on" thing by people in the Citadel, so I imagine if we had people bending ears to the Citadel politics, we could hear about that at some point.
Given any number of ways to confirm the truth of the matter if we had a mind to (but really how little bearing it has on the plot beyond strongly considering burning all his notes and shanking the bastard), either by delving into the Dragon Dream, divination or any number of spells that could let us peer backwards into rooms in the Red Keep on the happenings from centuries ago... is it all bullshit?
Is some of it bullshit?
Is very little bullshit?
Did Yandel just ditch his Lannister brown-nosing half-way through and start writing a Pro-Targaryen set of both? Did he continue writing one set of each and drop into seclusion so he could release the "definitive final draft" when he was sure whether or not Tywin or Viserys would win the game of thrones?
On a related note, if we do go poking around in the Citadel leading up to the invasion, I hope we hear about this little rodent. I will get a mighty chuckle out of the update where Viserys has been rooting through his notes.
Hey, a plant that isn't a glorified trap. Large, rather strong, can throw entangling frag grenades, and has a Con draining poison that creates that spawns another jesulan should it kill the victim.
A leshy variant with multiple acidic bite attacks and, far more importantly, the ability to Voltron up to 25 of themselves into a superleshy with extra HD, size, and a metric fuckton of bite attacks. We have to make at least 25 of these once, just to do that, it's hilarious.
A cactus-man, with all the abilities you'd expect from a cactus; close-quarters spine damage, and a spine-launching "breath weapon". A basis for templates.
Now here's something special. A Small flying rose-pixie thing with poisonous thorns and very impressive stats, including base 21 Charisma. A perfect plant-based caster.
An aquatic plant swarm that clings to anything that touches it, dealing continuous damage. Give this thing Quickling and a boost to intelligence, so it can be aimed at targets.

The Jesulan is interesting, but we would need to remove the spore spawn ability. Neat chassis to build upon, though.
Flytrap Leahy are individually fairly decent, but the Voltron act is potentially very strong. The combined bite attacks are ridiculous, however, and should be reduced, IMO. Not sure if the cost of that many of them to make Voltron Leshy is worth it.
EDIT: Growing 25 Flytrap Leshy would cost us a total of 15,00 IM (600 IM each). All of them combined into the maximum to from a 30 HD Super Flytrap Leshy should have a CR of 10. Growing a CR 10 creature in the Forges only cost 4,800 IM, though. With a cost more than three times something of comparable power, I don't see us making many of them, but it's something to keep in mind for special projects and circumstances.
When did we get the Blood Magic Creature template? I don't recall that, though my memory is unreliable.

Someone mentioned it in a build for some sort of barbed octopus, and DP rolled for it and gave it to us.
Yeah, a full size Flytrap Leshy is dropping 27 bite attacks with acid damage on each one. That may need some tuning, but the concept is too ridiculous to abandon.
Found some more plants, edited them into the post, plus one more:
It's a plant that's immune to cold, and heals upon exposure. That alone makes it worth considering for the Northern Front, though the brown mold issue may need considering.

I'm about to go to bed, so I don't have time to comment on all of the new Plant creatures you posted, but I do know that we've been on the lookout for Roselings. For reasons I cannot recall, we can't outright grow them in the Fungal Forge, so we need a template to work from.
Blood Algae has been discussed before, but some of us were leery of using it, considering how many aquatic allies we have who might be exposed to the stuff.

That's a fascinating question, also one I have not considered before. Id say that is something that deserves IC attention though. The next rumor post may well include 'Fire and Blood published' and then Viserys can have a personal look at it, maybe at Yandel too.

Former Naezn Estate, Yunkai Hinterlands, Slaver's Bay
"You know, this isn't quite where I imagined myself buying a manse in the countryside," Shara Rogare said as she looked out over the dusty red of fields and waxy olive leaves of the willow wasp and teak, and beyond them to Yonkay the Yellow, slowly crumbling upon its bed of chalk and bone. Even the golden pyramid of Qaggaz at its heart had seen better days, the stone harpies that perched upon its steps defaced in the riots that drove out the Sons of the Harpy, or as one was likely to hear of them in Yunkai these days, the Sons of Ruin. Their loss is your gain, the young inquisitor thought as she turned to look upon the balcony fringed in sweet blooming flowers. They were, in her not-so-humble opinion, the best part of the Inquisition's base here. A far cry from hiding out in ruins and old warehouses like they did in Meereen.

Likely reading her expression, Anya shook her head in faint reproach. "We also aren't up against devils' work and Harpy assassins, and whatever else is crawling under those rocks. And even so, if it hadn't been for the magister Talero we wouldn't have had a prayer of discretely buying this place." If anything, her expression grew even darker at the mention of the Lyseni magister. Sorbi Talero was a bit of a rarity in the Inquisition. A proper magister, not a third son or second cousin of one, and not the last heir of a House all but fallen into ruin like Shara's. Unlike so many others, in the wake of the conquest he had handed off the intact family properties to his brother and set off for a life of adventure in Imperial service.
"You know most of it's an act, right?" Shara asked seriously. "He's not really that flighty, and if it wasn't for the fact that he looks so harmless we would be under a lot more suspicion by the neighbors, and the priesthood for that matter."
"I know, I know," the younger inquisitor huffed. "It's just that he never sets the mask down, so you can't tell how much of it isn't acting and, well... he traded with these people before. Perfect record in liberating his slaves or no, it makes my skin crawl alright. The way they train their 'dancers'..."
Shara sighed, though truth be told she was glad her friend had finally said the words aloud instead of dancing around them like she had been for the past two weeks. "There's no way to do any sort of business in Yunkai without benefiting from slave labor. It's everywhere. It's the food on the table during banquets and the people picking up dung and trash on the streets. That's not going to end until the city falls. At least the slaves here are spared the whip and the hot coal box. That seems a fair enough thing to spend the king's coin on, even leaving aside the Room."
"So you are saying we should free all the slaves now?" Anya asked, at least trying to smile. "I'm pretty sure Lady Lya would personally show up to hold the manse against the full armies of Yunkai if it came to that."
"Assuming she does not get lost in there studying like Mia did," Shara countered as she moved away from the balcony and back inside the manse.
The 'Room' was actually more of a gallery, illuminated by fine Myrish glass widows during the day and scented whale-oil lanterns at night. It was filled with hundreds upon hundreds of books, from slender tomes of poetry to heavy manuscripts purportedly dating back to the days of old Ghis, watched over at even intervals by the marble busts of long dead 'Wise Masters'.
House Naezn had taken the first part of that deceptive title a little differently from most of their peers, hoarding lore the way a miser hoards gold, not just knowledge of glorious victories long crumbled through the dusty ages, but philosophy, mathematics, theology, and natural science. Behind a hidden door opened by pressing upon a harpy's talon, they had even found books of alchemy and blood magic. It was these that Mia was studying and copying to pass to the Scholarum. Still, she wasn't a Companion to be able to go days without eating...
"If you don't come out to eat I'm bringing a plate of honey-glazed baklava in there," Shara mock-threatened.
"Barbarians," Mia grumbled in her best impression of a Tyroshi magister as she came out, drawing a laugh from Anya.

Here's an edited version of the chapter, @DragonParadox.
Very nice find! The Imperial Library is ever hungry for more lore to consume.
We'll be getting lore on Aberrations (full) and Psionics (basics) from GIth, the full Storm's End's library, and the secret lore of the Faceless Men next month, as an already established thing.
We're not slowing down
To give a sense of scale finding out information about pre-Long Night history is DC 100, Age of Heroes is DC 80 and so on, with additional increases to DC if you want to find out about information that was restricted or hidden in the period.
I've been meaning to ask, but keep forgetting; we are trying to acquire a variant of the Psychic Vampire template which can be applied to living creatures, right, @egoo? Because normally it's a template which can only be applied to Undead, and those don't grow in a Flesh Forge.

Yeah, the scale helps a lot.
We are massive by modern standards, but not to the point anyone but Viserys really holds any chance of finding stuff beyond the Age of Heroes.
Draconic Akashic Record ftw!
