So we probably want to steal the goblet and buy cows. We haven't put a social on the red wizard yet, and I think we should.

A comment I want to make in general. Maybe it's a mistake to do this thing where we spread social actions around and try to "hit everyone". If we had consistently done a social action with Borek at every opportunity, he might well have given a better explanation before he left.

There's some merit in deciding who we need a deep relationship with and mashing that button over and over versus the idea that we've got to touch base on everyone at least once.

Ok, I will join the bandwagon...
[X] Frozen Sea
I will vote for every side mission Boney present us though, if not speaking with the expedition while traversing a frozen sea is going to get old soon...

@BoneyM If the expedition arrives at Praag without any major accidents, would Mathilde have the option to stay there for a few days before returning to K8P to unwind and pass some time ding things there (i.e going to the opera/ballet, buying souvenirs for her friends, sightseeing, etc)?

I would appreciate it if comments like this were not made.
He's saying he prefers having to leave with a mystery behind us, then having the quest end because we died. That is not exactly a very contentious opinion, because I figure that most people would be breathing a sigh of relief at Not Dying.

I thought he was celebrating leaving with an active mystery behind too at first, but on second reread I noticed the "more palatable than the end of the quest" bit which cleared it up. Not having answers might suck, but not having Mathilde Quest would suck more.

Unsure which to vote for right now. :V =/

Praag is... maybe not the best vacation spot?

Like, it still has a district where the houses sometimes eat people, and other times decide to not exist.

Also I think by that point Mathilde would just want to be home.

Maybe so. But that's not what we decided to do for this adventure. And I don't want someone to feel that Mathilde slight'd them by ignoring them when we have been "making the rounds".

Depends on the circumstances.

But what if it's someone who it's okay if they feel slighted? That's where deciding who is important comes in. Like, in the end I don't think that social action with Cyrston was worthwhile at all.

Yeah, the insulting implication being that if it hadn't won we would have died. In other words "Good thing we won the vote, so the quest didn't end as it would have if their choice had won."

But what if it's someone who it's okay if they feel slighted? That's where deciding who is important comes in. Like, in the end I don't think that social action with Cyrston was worthwhile at all.

Generally I don't think we should be trying to talk to everyone, her specifically when her aims included explicitly "Recognition" probably needs an action when we've made a point of talking to most of the other wizards.

True enough. And for an example of that for the future...

I want to spend actions on Snorri.

Both because he strikes me as having been the most affected by Gotrek's death -
"We're three weeks out from the borders of Kislev," Snorri says, his voice distant. "If we turn back now and switch to half rations as we approach High Pass, we should remain battle-ready until we're out of the area where we're likely to encounter enemies."
by Borek's actions,
"None of those possibilities are the sort of thing that covers Karag Dum with glory," Snorri says darkly.
"I want to know what Gotrek died for," Snorri says. "If whatever's in there isn't boiling out of it to take a swing at us..."
"I'll make a note to warn Karak Vlag that a desert might knock on their door in the year thirty thousand," Snorri says wryly.

"I take it that means we're done here?" Sir Ruprecht asks.

"If that's definitely Morghur and those were definitely Beastmen, then that's all we need to know," Snorri says. "Karag Dum has fallen. Let the experts on Grudgelore argue over the exact degree."
Social actions can be spent not just to first get a first impression on people, but also on how they have changed after their experiences. And Snorri seems to have been the one most affected by Vlag, Gotrek, and Dum.

Also... Snorri is the only Dwarf leader here and now. Which means that his is the voice the Karaz Ankor -- and the more local Karak Kadrin (and now Karak Vlag!) -- will pay the most attention to.

Which means that any Dwarf politics and beliefs and reactions and thoughts and so on, will be most influenced by Snorri over... well, any of the other Councillors here, for natural reasons.

And finally, Snorri is the person most likely to have dealings with Karak Vlag in the future, what with its return. Since as one of the members of Clan Redmane, he's part of a clan that patrols the High Pass.

If he doesn't go Slayer over Vlag, Gotrek, and Dum, that is. Hopefully he doesn't.

And hopefully, if he's considering it, then Mathilde can prevent that.

... Also, I guess I just want to get the Dwarf POV on things, too. And Snorri is going to be that point-of-view, as he's the only Dwarf choice available.

[X] Frozen Sea

Now that the politics is out of the way I would like to check on the Bright Wizard. BoneyM said that info about the 'use magic on boilers' project comes from her social.

If I read the update right one of the reasons the Sea path is considered more tenable is that we know know about the Dhar-Fall.
The Dhar-Fall, the place where Dhar filters out of the overhead torrent of Wind magics, is the place where the Chaos Wastes start in earnest. When your childhood home tries to eat you and where demons share the skies with predatory clouds. And it is a blatantly viable border, a line cut into the ground rather than a gradual worsening of conditions. Below that point the terrain isn't significantly worse than what you would find in the Empire. The expedition intends to head dead south till they hit the edge of the Dhar-Fall then skirt along it rather than just drawing a path from Dum to the Sea. Slightly longer, but immeasurably safer.

On a related note we are going to have so many papers to write when we get home.

If we're still talking about big/important things we've stolen, how has no one brought up Karak-8-Peaks? By Belegor's own admission if it wasn't for use it would never have been retaken (as early as it was if ever) from the Orcs, Skaven, and Trolls. Shouldn't that count for anything?
