Why are people passively assuming the Ice witch will go along with what ever we want regardless and wont try and make a solo play for the chalice, keep in mind if she's willing to go for it with just Mathilde helping her she must be pretty sanguine about doing the same solo because from her perspective I doubt she views Mathilde as massively more competent than her.
If we want to hold off on snagging the Chaos artefact we should absolutely be talking with the Ice witch.
or take care of your side of the deal with the Ice Witches now if you think it would be better than doing so on the way home.
How do you plan on counting these? Just normally? Or will you compare wether more people voted for one of the cumulative options than voted for the previous ones only?- For the Rite of Way vote, vote cumulatively. For example, if you want to use two of Mathilde's four choices on it, vote for both the 'rough terrain' and 'moderately difficult ground' options.
Does this include discussions on bypassing that stretch of road completely, by going through Kul territory, the frozen Lake and more Wastes or by going through Ogre Kingdoms and looking for an easier way down, as far as Cathay if need be?- I am declaring a moratorium on all ideas and discussion about how to get the steam-wagons past the narrow part of the ascent until it's time to embark on the journey home once more.
If we don't vote for this we would still be the contact person for the Dolgan once we encounter them with the whole convoy, right?
We met Solmann, in update 4 of Expedition. What is Hubert doing? I assume aerial reconnaissance for the Winter Wolves in near scouting?
[x] Attempt to make contact with the Yusak with Johann
[x] Magister Michel Solmann
[x] Journeywoman Alexandra Kohler
[x] Ranging far ahead of the convoy
[x] Use Rite of Way for the worst patches of rough terrain
[x] Attempt to make contact with the Yusak
[x] Preceptor Joerg von Zavstra
Rationale:
Barring clarification, I think one degree of RoW is enough.
I want to visit the Yusak before the whole convoy does, and if feasible connect it with Ranging Ahead, and if there's still a slot left also talk to Joerg while doing so.
Finally I am approval voting talking to one of the Wizards we haven't get met.

Whoops. Editing.
@BoneyM how does the distance on the alternate (northern) route compared to the Skull Road? And, while we're at it, do we know of any specific dangers on that path that would threaten the expedition, particularly terrain-related ones that Rite of Way would not help with?
(This isn't really about solving the gap, so I think this should still be legal)
I am not sufficiently familiar with sea ice, or the Wastes, to make a risk judgement, so that's why I'm asking what, specifically, we know.Well you would be driving over sea ice deep in the Wastes. I would rather take my chances with gravity honestly.
as Boney put it, until we know the situation at Dum this discussion is premature and will just go in circles. We do not have enough information and can't get enough information until then.Gah. Are we not allowed to know if the return trip might be longer than expected so we can prepare accordingly? That seems like it might change our behavior.
At the current mass of the landships, not really going to be all that noticable unless the lubrication fails. Then it'd be very noticable, but in a "things go snap" way in general. But friction - even rolling friction - scales linearly with mass, so it's not constant and you use more fuel with heavier load.
Count the top 4 options. The number of distinct Rite of Way actions in there are the degree of commitment. It can't fail unless someone does silly buggers and votes for the higher option without the lower option. How do you plan on counting these? Just normally? Or will you compare wether more people voted for one of the cumulative options than voted for the previous ones only?
