Go nuts, I don't care about that, did what was asked of me.
But no, seriously, lay it out for me step-by-step here so I don't write incorrect shit. What's the exact goal of each group?
Please.

I am reading either lack of care, or tiredness of it all in your post above, so sorry if incorrect at that, and doubly sorry if correctly.
But if I just write shit in a guesstimating way, it'll be worse for everyone involved.

Just took the tack @Azel suggested, in that it was unlikely that the Indigos wouldn't be hostile.
Could you point me to where he said that?

Because we heard literally nothing besides "Mask is wounded and fled in the Feywild" about them so far.
I would say thematically they are among the most likely to join us, they are Change and Transformation, accepting a different situation and acting accordingly should be closer to them than the Azure or Green.

[ ] Marauding the Mask
-[ ] A predominantly combat centric force expecting to cut through most obstacles in their way through the most expedient means, wasting little to no time on investigation barring what is necessary.
--[ ] x2 Black Champions + x2 Greater Blood Clot Molds, x5 Black Champions, x25 Black Wardens + x25 Necrotic Molds, x25 Black Wardens, x50 Black Knight, x100 Spitter Swarms
-[ ] Undead, generally for probing traps or killing wildlife being used as active deterrents. These are generally carried in a few Portable Holes to keep the group light and maybe avoid unnecessary conflict with anything that wouldn't otherwise attack a large group that wasn't trafficking with undead.
--[] x2 Verdant Phoenixes
--[ ] x5 Guardian Nagas
--[ ] x10 Advanced Sorcerer Creature Snapdragon Leshys, x10 Advanced Druid Creature Lotus Leshys
-[ ] Some basic casters lower-middle tier casters for any mass combat.
--[ ] x3 Vigilant Hunters
--[ ] x10 Vigilant Briars
--[ ] x9 Erinyes
-[ ] Good camp pickets and scouts, with some fair sneaking ability from the Hunters if needed. Erinyes for coordination.
--[ ] x2 Mighty Mind Dragons
--[ ] x2 Very Old Myrkdreki
-[ ] Mind Dragons for coordinating a very large force if for whatever absurd reason splitting the group is the only reasonable option. Myrkdreki for sneaking and generally wreaking havoc.
--[ ] x6 Heralds
--[ ] x10 Glass Golems
--[ ] x2 Heavy Warstriders, x5 Warstriders (access to improved wildfire munitions)
-[ ] Generally good for large, confusing combat where you don't want something to die instantly, or a more vulnerable character to be caught out where it's better to just sacrifice hardware as a piece of stubborn, magic resistant chaff.
--[ ] x2 Wild Hunt Archers, x1 Wild Hunt Scout, x1 Orphne Fey Lord
-[ ] Guides and pathfinders.
--[] Relath, Glyra, Ashin, Vargo, Sari, Liomond, Saenena, Alyssa, Danar, Sarell, Nirah
-[ ] Both Feywild groups will remain in contact via Telepathic relay linking, and with someone back home.

[ ] Visiting the Violet
-[ ] Essentially a lot of concentrated combat power, but no one essential to the functioning of the realm or its continued stability, or alternatively no one who wouldn't cause problems without Viserys' hand at the tiller who also couldn't afford to delegate their duties to a Companion at-need if away too long. This keeps the group light, fast and mobile. Worst case scenario, Viserys pops opens a Gate out of there (or to the other Group).
--[ ] Viserys, Richard, Zherys, Vee, Maelor, Amrelath, Mereth, Aife, x2 Myrkdreki, x2 Mighty Mind Dragons, x2 Vigilant Hunters, x12 Erinyes
-[ ] Both Feywild groups will remain in contact via Telepathic relay linking, and with someone back home.

[ ] Quizzing the Quickling
-[ ] Xor, the Misfits, Darkstar, Kennos, Thoros, Mors, Bonifer, Aradia, Nuri, Velen

Groups look good, dude. I do agree with @Artemis1992, however, that we might be going too hard at the Indigo Mask.

We could try to make contact with them first. The Mind Dragons have excellent social skills and can further bolster them with spells, so maybe have one group act as diplomats? A Mind Dragon, Myrdreki, the Orphne Lord, a Verdant Phoenix, and Saenena seems like a good representative bunch to make an overture of peace.
Can you just IMAGINE the bricks shat by the first group of incorporeal undead to try hippity-hoppity life = property versus a Legion and run into several thousand cracktroops all of whom have a +2 Ghost-touch Weapon?
That will make an impression.

It'll generally be a narrow one, but quite deep, somewhat like the blade of a wickedly sharp sword... 🤓

It's easier to throw together a group that's large and doesn't need concentrated power to both survive the trip and deter hostilities than it is to throw together a deathball that should be able to steamroll over most things.

Viserys and his group get away with that by having multiple Archmages present.

I'd rather not bring any more Companions into the Feywild than there are already, either, nor do I feel like making Viserys' group any lighter.

Show me an proposal for an alternate group. Light travel arrangements, lots of firepower for at least an escape if not outright massacring hostiles present, and with the ability to diplomance someone likely to be throwing Mythic powers around for confirmation bias reinforcing purposes.

@egoo, take note, I guess.

[ ] Meeting the Mask

I guess I just don't really care about recruiting Indigo. Or any more Fey.

In fact I would be fine with exterminating them and then never visiting the Feywild for any purpose again.

Bah! Being obsessed with next turn vote planning and not finishing anything leads to another Illyrio!

You really like that teamup with Illyrio and Dusk Dancer then?

You've been growing far too Chaotic lately.
This cannot be allowed to progress any further.

Your protest-votes end here.

The idea is to do general force allocation right now. Nobody suggested to ignore the courts.

@egoo fair enough on reversion. I figured that the muggles were already performing rituals in a monkey see monkey do sort of way so the weirdness of the fluff wouldn't matter as much, but it is more than a bit out there.

As replacement, how about Healthful Rest? It doubles natural HP recovery for 24 hours, and since it's a level one spell the casting time should be low enough to add to people's normal end of day abulations.

The Old Gods are the gods of Time. It's one of their domains. Could we have them steady the passage so to speak? We can pay for it.
Asked DP before, no can do "ensuring no time-dillation happens" without most of a God's attention and (a lot of) power turned to the select corner of the Feywild.

We:
A) don't know where exactly to turn their attention to, this isn't the mostly-static staging grounds used by CoS before, but Feywild wilderness.
B) Wouldn't really want to leave them to a counter by Others.

And no, we can't pay them for anything regardless, not at the moment.
Larder's empty, sacrificiable items too few for large-scale shit.

What DP allows us to do, technically, is to research a warning system for incoming time-dilation as an RA.
Which would come too far into the month even if we focus, to care about it.

And I think we also talked about emergency Feywild-ejection for Wyvern fliers or something...?
@Azel, @Crake, some halp plz, I remember discussion taking place around countering Feywild's time-dillation for Airship pilots of ours - but not the specifics of it.

So in essence we would need the roll the feywild time warp table. The lower the better correct?

Edit: Although it does note that a Wish spell can remove the time effect on, up to ten creatures.

Our anti-grav vessels got improved planar warding last turn, which negates the effects of highly morphic planes, unless something divine-grade is actively controlling such effects. The research action is to devise a detector to make it easier to spot such meddling.

So was one of the design team leads for that project named Gellar by the way? Cause our 40k theme might be getting a little too strong at this point. :V

Seriously though, it's good to hear that we already have that done. For some reason I thought that those upgrades were still on the to do list.

They got be done by Permanency, so it just takes some spell slots and a metric ton of money.

Once we are back down from active war operations, I'm also hoping to do some training exercises on morphic planes. Maybe the astral.

I think Limbo would be a good place to start. Doing the exercises there would give us an excuse to build up some local infrastructure to exploit the mailability of the plane in the future.

Materials would need to be imported, but I can't help but think that even the crude control allowed by Perinarch would make manufacturing things easier. Stuff like changing the basic layout of a factory line would be much easier if you could change everything outside of the actual machinery with a thought.

Interlude CML: A Bloody Warning
A Bloody Warning

Thirteenth Day of the Third Month 294 AC

Azema whipped the blood off her claws with a familiar lurch in her stomach, disgust. Once it would have been disgust at weakness, that these broken spirits had dared turn with thoughts of battle in their heart. Now it was disgust at the waste of life, potential and the beauty that came with it. They had been ordered to meet the remains of the Indigo Court in peace, but it had quickly become clear to their Wild Hunt guides that this particular corner of the Feywild had been shaped for darker purposes.

Thorn vines that coiled like snakes and blood red flowers that shed their petals like knives from on high, yawning pits that opened without warning. It was almost been enough to remind the alu demon of the realm of her birth, save only that the Feywild even at its worst was more a place of twisting dreams not nightmares black.

The wolf lord now lying dead among the ferns, his fangs biting nothing but dirt, would likely make an interesting trophy for the flesh smiths and their strange arts. That at least had not changed.

"Are you intact?" she asked the drow sorcerer still draped in his own blood though healed by the incarnate's magic. She was careful not to use a word that would imply weakness.

"Yes," he snapped. "No curse taints my flesh, tanar'ri."

Azema recoiled. She had honestly not even considered that aspect of their ambush. When a full pack of moon-touched wolves had poured over them she had just thought it the madness of grief for their fallen kin, an attempt to take some of their enemies with them into death. But if the spirit of savagery and hunger could be transited, could contaminate mortals...

"Be at ease, Daughter of Darkness, he speaks truth," the foremost of the Wild Huntsmen proclaimed, rising in his stirrups to observe the path ahead. "Still, I would judge an attack that almost killed two of our company is cause enough to assume that the Mask will not meet us in peace. His trail leads deeper still..."

"I was not near death," Azema bristled. True she had lost a wing to a sorcerer's conjured stone fist as it tore her from the air, but she had only been a bit dizzy from blood loss. She had suffered worse from taking the edge off a boring fete with lotus seeds and sweet wine.

"As you say, my lady," the green clad archer replied with an exaggerated tilt of his head. She made a personal note to avoid his ilk in the future. Arrogant little weed.

Before she could reply one of the corpses still on the ground wheezed: "What lies beyond the Mask of Sorrows, what Truths a Hollow Face may hold? You will all wish you ended he..." The words died in a bloody gurgle.

"What the Hells was that supposed to mean?" Nuri kicked at the corpse with a leather clad foot. "Can anyone here talk to the dead?" Her cheeks paled in an instant, all the more obvious against the blood still marking her face. "They wouldn't have...?"

It did not take the others long to follow her thoughts. Winter, the broken court, or some of them at least could have sought the 'succor' of the Lords of the Long Night.

Black winged Sarell was the first to speak, "What does he have to lose?"

  1. 1 Werewolf Lord (16 HD CR 14)
  2. 12 Werewolf Fighters 6 (7 HD CR 7)
  3. 8 Werewolf Druids 5 (6 HD CR 6)

Indigo Court Hostile, Hints that the Mask may be seeking an alliance with Winter

***

Alas, the divinations practiced in the Deep did not infirm their fears. As the Light Fey, the Fey of Summer broke, the Others reached out to their once kin. Though no divination could anticipate the Mask itself under wards and enchantments, one could at least for now take heart in the fact that most of his court remained untainted, if deeply bitter.

"Isn't it strange that those wolves warned us, put us on the trail after an attack that was doomed to fail for all it could have hurt us?" a devil asked a demon later that day in the privacy of Inquisition Headquarters. Both of them knew too well what it was to have to choose between one hatred and another, and what it was to wield that spite onto the ruin of one who supposedly wielded ultimate authority over one.

"The warning was planned," Azema concluded. Maybe the death and battle had not been wholly a waste.

What next?

Actually how difficult would spreading the "curse" of were bears to our troops. I think the legion could use the beast and were bears are nominally good so it wouldn't even result in random lashing outs.

Also I think that the transformation can be controlled so their solitary nature could probably be controlled on duty at least.

I think we should have it as an volunteer battalion at least. Like lesser pretorians as it were. See what I did there.

Oh it's not hard at all, just have that wereboar you rescued from the reach bite people or Alysande Mormont, the trouble is controlling said animalistic side.

Were bear. Those are nominally supposed to be good. And we have a lot of druid leshies so we should have a lot of good animal handlers to control them while the legion learns its paces. Is there any world building problem do you see here beside finding a werebears. It would also be a potential hook for that pseudo russian land you made.

I think it could be a viable supplement to keep our legion relevant. The were creatures get regeneration right.
