I don't understand why you wouldn't at least watch the attack play out. It's not likely to take very long, would be low risk, and provide some very instructive observations about the capabilities of Skaven hero units.

The main reason to poke Eshin was to ensure Mors would win, and stop eshin leaking intel, thats not viable any more. Mors is basically finished and trying to plug the intel leak is not viable.

Yes, but I'm pretty sure Redshirt meant Alkaline because it sounds like the Necrarch's name and Basic does not, though we can say that he was, in fact, a basic bitch.
Do we know if the Eshin know that Mors has been wiped out outside Yar?
We do not know whether they know. The document the Sorcerer gave the Agent might tell us what Eshin knows. My prediction is that they either know because they've been doing their own stealthy scouting or they believe that Mors's imminent extinction at the hands of the dwarves is very likely.

I can be convinced to leave, but I have no idea why we couldn't at least watch it play out.

And if the Sorcerer survives, our original vote to kill him should go back into effect.

Eshin > Dragon >> Mors means it's very plausible that not just a small force of survivors but a legitimate fraction of their leadership are in position to get away, assuming that they know an underground way out of Yar. After we finish this assassination what we are currently doing, do we want to try to finish off the surviving skaven, if that mean a fight against multiple Assassins and probably a Master Asssassin? Or do we let them get away and hope that it was the Sorcerer who had all of the relevant intel on his person (since he's the one handing a document over to the Council)?

Obviously stuff depends on how the assassination shapes up (I imagine Mathilde will take a quick look at this document the sorcerer was delivering), but I figured we should start thinking in terms of "how much K8P life are we willing to pay to eradicate Eshin, if Mors and Sparklebutt don't do a very convincing job".

EDIT: Because apparently people are misreading this, let me be explicit: I am talking about sending in our army, not a Mathilde solo mission.
I think we should wait and see what happens in the next update, Mors has been badly wounded, but they are hardly dead yet and they can still turn the situation around...

Then we can decide if we want to keep hunting down Eshin heroes, if we want to come back to our army and clean the survivors o to have a last Loot roll before returning.

I would prefer to hunt down the Master Assasin next turn, mainly because Skaven are even more vulnerable to decapitation strikes than Greenskins and killing him will probably turn the tables around for Mors, which is good for us.

But also because I want to see a Fight to the Death between two the closest equivalent in the setting of two elite Jounins...

I'm not in a position to read through the thread right now, so can someone tell me what's the consensus on the Sorcerer's motives here?

Way i see it:

A) Sorcerer delivers a real message, but does not want it getting to the Seers, so he was prepared to attack unless the envoy brought overwhelming forces.

B) Sorcerer is delivering a false message, and is prepared to attack if the message is discovered, but will let the envoy leave if he believes it.

C) Sorcerer only delivered the message as a safeguard in case he fails to kill the envoy, delivering the message himself would be the preferred outcome. Have to be willing to die for this, or is very confident he can pull this off (secret master assassin nearby?).

So, possible messages:

1) Actual account of the events in K8P, not the best outcome for Eshin, but important info nonetheless.

2) False account of the events, doctored to make Eshin look better.

3) Information Eshin feels should get to the Seers, Dragon? New Dwarf tactics?

4) Just a letter confirming that Mors is effectively gone, no more info.

I feel we should at least try to understand what's going on before moving forward.
Does the letter need to be intercepted or do we gain by letting it get to it's destination? Is the letter to be trusted should we get it? Does the Sorcerer have backup nearby?

Why would an Eshin sorcerer wish to kill an envoy of the Seers if it's not for the letter? Maybe the information is correct, but he does not want the destruction of the Eshin Outpost known?

Reasoning unchanged. We're trying to prevent information from going out to the Skaven, and whatever report was delivered to the Council Agent is unlikely to be beneficial to us.
But no reason to take the risk when we can have the sorceror take the risk then kill the winner.

On the other hand, if the report was just that Mors is broken, then it might be useful to let them get away with that information so the Underempire has no reason to come back.

Council involvement can't be good, so denying them information and resources is in our favor generally.
Actually, a question -- if the Council Agent dies in Karak Eight Peaks, what's going to happen?

Aren't they going to investigate? I mean, would they just blame it on the battlefield and write it off? Or are they going to send somebody over to check it out?
