For many, most of I am to be honest, the name "death pass" alone is enough to conjure the edge of the world

taverns, I must break the news to then that they have traveled only the first third of their journey, and the safest third at that.

Such was not a place not fit for human homes, and I did almost pity the dwarves who I'd imagined would move in.

[X] Francesco Caravello, proud leader of the Undumgi and possible future Thane.
[X] Soizic, newly elevated to military leader of the Undumgi.
[X] Kragg, who's begun to be seen around the Karak once more, indicating he might be finishing his study of the rune-axe you and Johann found.
[X] Check in on your fief in Stirland.

[X] Yes, have one social interaction be initiated by someone other than Mathilde.

You know, if we take the time to finish off Cloak Activity at some point, we could theoretically get a +92 (+ 27 (Learning) + 25 (Tower) + 20 (Partial) + 20 (Gambler)) bonus to the roll. Anybody feel up for another instant spell mastery, complete with half a Gambler charge to boost w/e roll might be made to determine said mastery? :V
We really need to just get :V as its own rating at this point. It conveys a breadth of emotion that none of the others can.

@BoneyM I wonder, how powerful are Anton, Franzen and Wolfsbach compared to the other nobles in Stirland right now?

Easily over 9000, scouters are blowing up all over the place.

Then we roll a 1.
I'd rather exchange the man-with-a-slightly-bigger-goat-herd for all three.

Yea, fief winning out over those is making me a little sad, the cool things we could be reading about beaten out by a goat herder, I bet the scrub doesn't even go on to become a celestial mage apprentice and blow up a necromancy fortress.

We've interacted with both the other leaders, not much with Soizic

...we haven't, though? The only interaction we've had with Francesco was "we gave him the Torc in a scene that didn't have any dialogue" and the only interaction with Oswald was "his cat came to our shrine and we exchanged like one sentence."

Like, I agree with you that that's still more than Soizic has gotten, but any of these social actions increases the relevant character's onscreen presence by an order of magnitude.

"Powerful" has a lot of scales you can measure on.

How many troops can they command?
How rich are they?
How much land do they own?
How much of the Elector Count's ear/trust do they have?
How many feudal subordinates/feudal superiors do they have?
How many connections do they have to other important noble families?

I'd say those more or less over the ways you can measure the "power" of a noble.

Oh, I am aware. My question remains the same, though I don't need any details, approximate eyeballing by QM in one sentence would be a more than sufficient answer.

Sounds like a job for an anonymous or pseudonym paper.
Or rather, since we're Grey, an "officially anonymous" paper, since the leadership is going to figure out who wrote that paper before letting it out into the world
Author: Magister Grey. (no relation)
Omnidisciplinary magic pseudo science is technically a field right?

Excerpt from a nebulous point in time where Mathilde applies for a lecturers position at the Colleges:

"So Mathilde Weber what is your specialized field of study?"
Weird magical phenomena

"...Well yes, but specifically what kind?"
Yes

"...What?"
What?
Well, there is the theme that most of them involved stabbings, or things in close proximity to stabbings.
Also, Regimand may need to seek medical help from smugging too hard, as regards Mathilde's accomplishments.
Matrix only works on bio targets. You could enchant the bullets normally with it, but it's kind of at cross-purposes since the person who might cause chaos under the influence of Bewilder is also much less able to cause chaos because they've got a bullet in them.
Or, enchant with Sleep, because a bullet tends to make people fall down, and Sleep would double down on that. Even if they would wake up shortly after, a bullet with +knockdown is pretty good. Or, more so: Mockery of Death. Bullets of "even if I don't kill you, you act like it."

Votes (some of which don't have a chance, but I want them anyway!):
[X] Yes, have one social interaction be initiated by someone other than Mathilde.
Because I very much like the idea.

[X] Francesco Caravello, proud leader of the Undumgi and possible future Thane.
I want to see how he's doing with... everything.

[X] Prince Kazrik, as he builds on his relationship with Nuln.
He's only been interacting with Umgi for a couple years... and is now throwing money at them left and right. Also, Grey Wizarding at Nuln should be fun.

[X] Sir Ruprecht Wulfhart, as the new home of the Winter Wolves takes shape.
First, wolves. Second, interesting talks about recent things we've sworded.

[X] Oswald Oswaldson, newly-minted Chief Bombardier of the Undumgi.
I want to catch up to Corporal Snuggles, and I suppose her human too. :p

[X] Soizic, newly elevated to military leader of the Undumgi.
Lady-knight? Lady-knight. Also, a different perspective.

[X] Max, during the few breaks in the silence as the two of you worked on Queekish in the Room of Serenity.
Because a) Max headpats, and b) pillow-fort.

[X] Elder Hluodwica, as the Halflings prepare for their first proper harvest festival in this new home.
Pie! Also, we haven't have nearly enough halfling interaction.

[x] Wilhelmina, to see how she's going when she's not a terrifying financial juggernaut.
Because I'm not sure what this looks like, but I want to see it.

[x] Karak Hirn, to satisfy your curiousity about Prince Ulthar.
Because cats, like wizards, are curious.

Very unlikely to get spell mastery - they usually only come when casting in the field. Might result in fun shenanigans with testing it in other circumstances: "Why, no, I am certainly not walking away with forty just-baked halfling pies. After all, that would be four tens, and that would be just terrible!"

I like mystery boxes.

I like Max.
[Y] Qrech, because for all the intel you've gained, you don't know much about how Skaven live their lives.
I like the Dwarven Rat Boy. :V

[X] Investigate the aftermath of the Empire's campaigns against the Skaven in Nuln and Ubersreik.

...I really want to redeem/rehabilitate/whatever Qrech, because honestly, fuck the Horned Rat.

The term you want is flip. When you convert an enemy agent to your side you have flipped them.

And I'd see about getting a personal Shrine set up as well as converting the other site to a shrine of the Protector.

We want Ranald's influence to be strong here if you want to pick a fight with the Horned Rat, and "The Aspect Of Rebellion Against Tyranny" feels appropriate.

Fair enough on the motivation, he would still have to beat Mathilde's scrutiny and unlike her he is not an intrigue expert.

He was a counter-intrigue expert though, or about as close as a Martial spec tends to be for this type of thing.

He is a skaven who managed to get himself into a command position.

He is absolutely an intrigue expert, heve would not have his post otherwise.

He is not the best one, but he is one. Dealing with deceit is a survival skill for him.

He was good enough at his job he was reassigned to deal with the Mor issue.
Our Skaven is an expert. and the higher ranked they are, the more untrustworthy and clever they are.

Yeah, I would definitely like to flip him. And then, possibly, see if we can poke at divine magic/theurgy enough to figure out how to invite the Horned Rat to be the guest of honor at a divine boot party. I figure we can definitely invite the Ancestor Gods to attend...
Hey, we should aim high, right?
