I wonder if it is possible to gain rep with the Cult of Ranald, because having a god given artifact should probably count for something in that regard.
 
That was epic.

I am actually glad that we rolled a 4. That is because 5 and 6 smell of a Mary Sue. We already stopped a massive greenskin ritual, offed Skarsnik, etc. Adding an order god of magic or a greenskin civil war? That would be too much I think, for something with this little buildup.

Also Ranalds holy number, and that Coin is extremely useful. I very much hope that combined with doppelganger it will work in Skaven and Orc cities.
 
She can reach out in his general direction but there's a point where Mathilde's soul ends and Ranald's divinity begins, and there's a mind-boggling amount of divinity to go through before you reach whatever it is that one could say is actually Ranald unless he has reason to make it otherwise. The problem is that there's been effectively zero research into the point where the arcane meets the divine. The churches in general get very touchy about it, especially when wizards are the ones asking, and under the strictures of any other god it'd be a theological minefield. But in Mathilde's experience Ranald is difficult to offend and easy to amuse, and that allows for the possibility of investigating further. It would take a lot of effort just to have an idea of what the right questions are, but it could absolutely pay off in all sorts of unexpected ways.

@BoneyM, while there aren't any Lore of Life spells that remove fatigue yet, same as how a bunch of 4e spells haven't been invented yet as I understand it, it's my opinion that it should be possible to invent Life spells that remove fatigue. Reason I hold this opinion is that it's a spell characteristic for all Life spells in 4e when used on living creatures (undead creatures instead take bonus damage when you use Life spells on them).

A crit would probably be Mathilde not having any Waagh penalties (maybe she's reinvorgrated by the Waagh as a side effect of Mork instead of exhausted), I imagine a 100 might mean that some of the muscle-improving or skill-improving effects of the Waagh remained. So Mathilde is Orky-Fit instead of Human Warrior-fit. While useless for most wizards, Mathilde would probably appreciate mechanically a +1 Strength bonus. I also imagine digging out Greenskin buff spells and deciding one of them affects Mathilde for the next few or one hour, idk.

My thoughts anyway.

Never. Risk. Miscasting. Ever. Mathilde's done enough, and it seems like the Rangers were very successful with the boost from the poison. She might speed things up, but in her current state she might instead end up using her Seed's charges while being too tired to run away.
1: One Less God.

Looking at this again, I think 4 was actually the best result for Ranald. Sure, 5 would have been great in its own ways, but this result lets Ranald do more Ranald-y things for his followers all over. 5 would have been better for Mathilde personally but it wouldn't have been the general level-up Ranald got. 6... would have been "good" for us, not so much our patron.

Optimistically, rolling a one may have resulted in Mork dying, but as a consequence Mathilde would have become Enemy #1 for every Orc, everywhere.

I'd suggest a massive increase in physical strength without exponential muscle and magic resistance. With proper swording, we can turn Mathilde into a Saber-lite Grey Wizard!

That was the hope, at least. Kinda sad it's just a fantasy at this point.

When someone sits at the table and antes up their God, that natural 6 better have a hell of a kick to it.

But I agree with the dangers of granting too much, too easily. A 5 result would have come with a lot of work to be done to take that seed of potential greatness and grow it into something useful, and the problems of 6 speak for themselves. It's all very well to catapult your God into the biggest leagues of all, but there already very much is a Top Four and they don't appreciate competition.

If there seemed a reason for it to come up in the quest, I could see a spell for that coming from Life, or possibly from Gold or Fire or Beasts. But though it might be helpful in these exact circumstances, with Mathilde's Aethyric Armour mastery it doesn't seem like enough of a recurring problem for her to seek it out.

considering the Waagh exposure was Cunning, I would think it might provide a trait that boosts intrigue.

Dude, I made special care to use the word 'opinion' specifically to say I wasn't telling him to do anything. It's ok to tell the GM what you think about some part of his game. So long as you're respectful about it, you don't impose, and you understand completely that it's their decision in the end and that you should respect that, it's fine.
