[X] The enemy reaction is greater than expected. Make your way to join the imminent battle outside.
-[X]Carefully.

Whilst Mathilde is tired this attack is much worse than we ever thought could happen when we were planning things. We need all hands on deck.

Even if all Mathilde can contribute to the battle is one use of her fire Torc, that could still be a major thing. If we can cause fear in an enemy unit or bolster a failing unit on our defensive line that could be critical.

In deference to her tired state though she should go somewhat carefully.

[X] Keep to the original plan. Find the invasion force and join them as they fight their way through Karag Nar.

Ohthankgoditworked.

Just... lots of relief, there. Glad it worked.

Huh. Hey, @BoneyM what could picking some of the other options have resulted in?

I would have fleshed out an equivalent number of possibilities if any of the other options had won, but Dwarf option would have been doing harm to Gork and Mork and probably Karag Nar, Wizard option would have had a permanent effect (for good or ill) upon the local Winds, accepting Mork would have had all sorts of potential effects as you become at least slightly orky, and the human option would have avoided most of the 'better hope you don't roll 1' sorts of consequences.

So @BoneyM I shall ask this once again.

iirc

Bad and Dramatic: As per bad and all greenskins everywhere gain Hatred: Mathilde
Bad: Rogue Idol Of Only Gork wakes up about five feet away from Mathilde
Dramatic: Escalation, roll again except the results are even more so
Good and Dramatic: Global war between goblin and orc

Well, she overcame the difficulty with style it seems. I guess there was a risk of releasing Waagh or Ranald's Lore instead of Ulgu if we buggered the first roll @BoneyM ?

Or just a dry fart from being magically exhausted(side note, this probably is useful progress towards raising Magic, if insufficient on its own, IIRC one of the ways to raise Magic stat mentioned before the hiatus was pushing the limits on how much you can channel?)

Dry fart. She's punching below her weight at the moment.

@BoneyM think you meant yon instead of thon there?

Hither and yon got popularized by Shakespeare, but hither and thon is correct too, or at least no less so than hither and yon.

"Manling! What did you do!?"
The Grey Magister shrugged, tiredly.
"The Orc priests were in the middle of a rituals days in the casting, and years in the making. With so much power around... well. It turns out that with a lot of skill and bit of luck, when you catch the Gods when they are committed, even Gods can bleed."

Okay, remember the visions?
The ones pouring into Karag Rhyn should be responding to Skarsnik and his dudes suddenly losing his plot armor and dying.
The citadel is held by Only Mork black orcs if I'm not mistaken, and now that the Prophet of Only Mork is toast...they got the greenlight to smack down.
This keeps happening and the amount it annoys me makes me feel like an orc, but the black orcs support Gork, Mork is the sneaky one.

A Path Not Taken
A PATH NOT TAKEN

A single die tumbles....

and the die becomes cards and those cards are laid on the table- Straight Flush, Magister high.

In the Dark, a Mage took the Chance to play a fine Trick on the green gods to Protect others. Five factors, four of which aligned with the story of Ranald. You're not the best at understanding how gods work on the metaphysical level, but even you know that lining up with their narrative makes things more potent. Mork's attention had left you, but his power remained. With a careful strand of Ulgu you connected the power you could feel with the part of you that attracted cats like meat draws flies. And with a laugh of acceptance from Ranald, you experienced, for a short time, what it was like to be a drinking straw. As Mork looked away to his brother, Ranald pulled...
and pulled...
and pulled.

And you were the conduit, and the Mage, and the Worshipper, and you had deceived and prowled and protected and risked it all to pull it off-

And you saw him, behind a stand at the Altdorf Carnival when you were only nine, a barker performing card tricks, calling you yes, you, step right up and see if you can match my wits, clever lass, and you missed the trick and gambled away your five pence-
And you snuck up later and watched how he did it-
And you saw through the trick, he'd slipped it up his sleeve and lied to your face-
And you went to your other apprentices later and warned them what he did-

And in the past that man was Ranald in spirit, and in the present Ranald is him, and as Ranald pulled through you, he pulled a little bit of you, and you lost your five pence again and it became his, but you got yours in the end, didn't you? A little bit of you became him, but that means a part of him became you, didn't it? And you can see that the card was no longer slipped up the sleeves, but burned in your mind with the grey of Ulgu even as it vanished to mundane sight.

And as Mork and Gork howled in rage, Ranald the Magician laughed.

note: A bit incoherent but i have to go to work

Holy shit the Good and Dramatic result would have been insane.

-[X] Carefully.

Time to hang back and use the seed as much as possible.
Eh, we just need some more heists.
Let's see....
Tzeentch is an obvious target.
Technically, Hashut is also god of sorcery, is he not?
Elven gods probably have someone with such portfolio.
Are Khemri gods still alive?
Tzeentch is also number one bad touch god.
Hashut is a god of authoritarianism, bad match with Ranald.
The elves probably need that power more than Ranald does honestly.
The khemrian goddess Asaph is magic+justice/vengeance, but already has an immortal champion who very much embodies her in Queen Khalida. Plus, she hates vampires, and so is a good guy in our book.

I feel like getting to and being surrounded by friendlies is what Mathilde really needs to do right now.

I think we're spent so let's rest on a pile of gold and kill any greenskins that come up to us

Holy shit the Good and Dramatic result would have been insane.
Absence of big greenskin empires or/and ongoing Waaaghs in this time period would've made this a whole lot less dramatic than it could have been. Still, a global effect is a global effect.

On the bright side, we still managed plenty of harm. With just what we have here, main Greenskin Lord units - Grimgor and Skarsnik - got Mathilda'ed anyway, K8P as a major greenskin hold will soon cease to exist. This is a pretty big blow to the greenskins in the entire region.

Don't worry too much about the incoherence, because it kind of enhances the feeling of the story?

Also changing vote from guarding the Hoard.

Because having a Wizard guard something that doesn't seem important, probably means it's important?

I was mostly thinking about the general effect it would have for the forces of Order, since the Greenskins having a civil war like that would ease up on the pressure. Especially for the Dwarves.

I'd just like to take a moment to appreciate that Mathilde is still alive, sane, and (mostly) not mutated...

Apart from that, the Night Prowler aspect of the Coin could be enormously beneficial in combination with Doppleganger and Take No Heed if we stay at Karak Eight peaks. It would allow almost flawless infiltration of the surrounding skaven and Greenskin held holds, which should massively help with espionage.
