So this disgusts me, mass-tagging so many people... but we all want the same thing: recruiting Jinx. Collectively we have 15 votes, yet we're divided across 6 different plans because of slight differences.

We should collectively agree on something, since the current winning vote (Green Magical Woman) completely ignores Jinx. Someone who would be incredibly dangerous working for HIVE, but invaluable for us given her luck powers.

Roxanne + Rebecca + Carol works pretty well in my opinion, and we can't remove Lex since "Sue Galaxy" is pretty important. Personally I would want Cassandra on Pamela's ascension, purely so we boost her Coop with Pamela & Karl.

Nonetheless, securing Jinx is more important than where we assign Cass. Well, don't assign her on Plug Leaks, simply because I don't like the odds of us succeeding there and I don't want Katherine & Cass' Coop dropping.

Whatever the case, we should collectively agree on something instead of losing the vote just because we voted for slightly different plans.

And if we remove Cassie getting a pet from Jinx 2.0 would it have been better compared to the rest?
I am not a big fan of having Carol on a recruitment action. It feels soooo weird narratively but it isn't that bad if Rebecca in the action, too.

[] Plan Recruitment
-[] Sue Galaxy Communications > Luthor+Mercy+Mari
-[] Plug the leaks > Katherine + Cassandra
-[] Use the perfected human plant integration > Pamela + Karl
-[] The A.M.A.Z.O. project > Ivo
-[] Recruit Jinx > Rebecca+Roxanne
-[] Recruit competent assistants > Carol Ferris
-[] [Favor] Ask Ra to eliminate Intergang's leadership and their major allies
-[] [Jobs] Cange Karl's position to the Head of Medical Research

This plan puts Cassandra in a safe place where she can learn something, uses Carol in a sensible way improving our chances to get another hero from another source, hero which may be no less important than Jinx

Any rolls low enough to have those consequences would be that low regardless of who was with her.
Absolutely untrue. With Lex buying her a pet it is a guaranteed success. Other heroes give almost guaranteed success compensating Cassandra's minus and preventing that divide final roll by 2 thing. There is also a common sense.

You are subtracting quite a lot of point from the final roll from putting Cass there. She has negative learing score and negative coop score with Pamela.

Nonetheless, securing Jinx is more important than where we assign Cass. Well, don't assign her on Plug Leaks, simply because I don't like the odds of us succeeding there and I don't want Katherine & Cass' Coop dropping.
Unlike other actions here Cassandra can learn something, won't have a negative contribution and unlikely to face more severe consequences than Katherine and Cassandra's coop score going down.

Things I want from a plan:
a) Cassie to have an action with another hero. This, for me, is non-negotiable.
b) Getting Jinx
c) Getting Pamela into Poison Ivy.

The rest I don't really care about.

@Ukrainian Ranger: Recruit Competent Assistants is DC 35, so Carol would need a roll of 20 or higher to succeed. Seems better to put her on Recruit Jinx, so we're less likely to fail.

And without Carol we need roll of 35 or higher to succeed.

IMO, Putting heroes only on actions with guaranteed success is an overly cautious strategy.

B and C kinda compete with each other. Sure, we'll upgrade Pamela anyway but with a 3 hero team we'll get a more powerful Poison Ivy no matter what roll will be.
If it is your priorities I suggest you to vote for [] Plan Green Magic Woman and A Pink One Too because it has the best balance and doesn't sacrafice Poison Ivening evening if the "recruit Jinx team" is suboptimal

Nope. I like the scrambly nature of the current voting system. I like the fact that individuals have power (a lot of options were one or two votes away from shifting things.). I think that the ability for conflicting goals to win is a feature not a big since it requires you guys to communicate with one another as to how you want to proceed rather than rely on bandwagoning to win out. Right now that bit functions as intended and I have no interest of changing it.

Thanks for this. Admittedly, the current voting system can lead to messes like this turn. Because it was a mess. I still don't understand how not a single martial action passed the cut when we're in a literal urban war, or why voters are so obsessed with AMAZO that they won't allow taking advantage of Ivo for more other easier things when he's in a good mood. And come on, I'm one of those who wanted to recruit Jinx but it wasn't time sensitive and we shouldn't have done it when Rebecca has other things to do. At least we're leaving that trap that is Zambesi well enough alone.

Still, I'm happy with voting like this, because there are no bandwagons and each voter is free to vote what they truly like, and not what other other voters have decided is gonna win.

Voting for this as a compromise because the majority clearly want to invest in Jinx. This one keeps 3 heroes on Poison Ivy and that is very important for me. I think having Rebecca around during Pamela's transformation can give us interesting and useful subvotes.

Switching votes. I have to admit, I am not going at this optimally; I'm more interested in the people than in the rules.

But I love this quest!

@King crimson: Would Cassandra's communication penalty activate if assigned on Plug the Leaks? Besides that, would collect Intergang tech also suffer from her penalty?

Yes they would for both of them. Plug the leaks requires communications to be done effectively and without potentially causing bigger problems and collecting Intergang tech also requires a degree of communication with either the police (who have the weapons) or Cassandra herself (the weapons look like guns and Cassandra might decide to break them thinking she is playing the gun breaking game now which would defeat the whole purpose of getting the tech).

Leaving the voting aside for a second... can we please take action against Intergang next turn? We're cashing in on Ra's favor, but I think it won't be enough to remove them outright, so we will still need to do something about them.

... This getting so ridiculous. Honestly, I think we should just leave Cassandra unassigned at this point, since every action suffers if she's placed on it. We can't afford moving anyone either, so...

@King crimson: If we had Cass get herself a pet, would her penalty activate there as well? Hmm, maybe in the future you could make it clearer which winning options her penalty affects?

I don't really care at this point. I've made my decision and I'll stand by it. If the leading vote changes by the time the update comes out tomorrow or the day after, I'm fine with that.

I would like to second that motion, I would also suggest we teach Cass some form of communication her current debuff is really hurting us

It would activate there as well. If the action is not directly related to fighting or killing Cass is likely to have her debuff take effect. If the action doesn't require words at all or for Cassandra to listen to anything and its safe for her to figure out on her own then she can do it without the debuff.

Do we repeat the four actions that were slated for this turn, that is:

-Train up the police
-Donate to the police
-Give advanced weapons to our forces
-Combat robots

or should we change them? I think those four and hiring more troops are the best options at the moment, and are immediate.

Plug the leaks doesn't suffer from having Cassandra. Her intrigue contribution is still a positive value... but most likely +1 (lazy to do the math)

I think we'll need to do something like 8 martial\marial related actions next turn and I mean it. This area is neglected for far too long.

We might not have to. League should wipe them out. Also...just do Crush all Criminals. Wasting 4 actions is excessive.

Unless game mechanics have a flaw, there's no way a single action is gonna resolve our problem. 'Crush all criminals' will receive counter-rolls and doesn't prevent new criminal from moving in unless we train up the forces on our side. Or do you think no one would try to fill Intergang's place?

No, League isn't likely to wipe them out. We will be lucky if they'll halt them for a long enough period that us doing nothing defensive this turn won't cause huge trouble

Also, "wasting" is an unwise term to use. We need to develop our forces Intergang or not. Something we neglected for far too long. Oh, and we aren't really ready to destroy Intergang in one decisive action.

And thanks god we had no Crush all criminals. We are not very ready to do this.

Fine, I'm willing to risk it and I originally proposed this plan anyways...

Birthdays of Major Characters for Worldbuilding Reasons
So this is a fun post that I'm going to be doing (and it won't affect the quest too much beyond how kids age). I decided to try and figure out birthdays for most of the major characters. Other than Carmine and Alberto Falcone I can't think of any actual birthdates for DC characters so it was fun to try and give people birthdays. Within each date is a fun little easter egg and I'm curious to see if anyone can figure them all out. I'll probably add more to it over time but without further ado here is a bunch of brithdays.

  • Lex Luthor: January 4th
  • Orin Komarov: January 21st
  • Cassandra Luthor January 26th
  • Lisa Snart: February 5th
  • Rebecca Carstairs: February 8th
  • Mercy Graves: February 9th
  • Bruno Manneheim: February 14th
  • Clark Kent: March 3rd (not his actual birthday but it is when he celebrates it)
  • Emmylou Brown: March 13th
  • Ra's al Ghul: March 15th
  • Mari McCabe: March 17th
  • Helena Bertinelli: March 24th
  • Paige Monroe: March 25th
  • Enoch Brown: March 30th
  • Winslow Schott: April 7th
  • Leonard Snart: April 15th
  • Arthur Villain: April 20th
  • Marcus Aelius: April 21st (not his actual birthday just when he says it is)
  • Anthony Ives (Professor Ivo): April 26th
  • Rene Carpenter: May 6th
  • Zatanna Zatara: May 20th
  • Cerise Orielle: May 23rd (what her birth certificate lists her birth as)
  • Marie Louise Dahl: June 14th
  • Nathan Warbow: June 26th
  • Brittney Meld: July 3rd
  • Samuel Scudder: June 27th
  • Siobhan McDougall: July 6th
  • Beatriz Da Costa: July 16th
  • Roxanne Sutton: July 24th
  • Diana Prince: July 24th (not her actual birthday but when she celebrates it)
  • Rose Wilson: July 29th
  • Caitlin Snow: July 31st
  • Tobias Whale: August 1st
  • Carl Draper: August 11th
  • Carol Ferris: August 19th
  • Meena Dhawan: August 21st
  • Nathan Craig Jones: August 23rd
  • Volcana: August 27th
  • Dr. Moon: August 31st
  • Mick Rory: September 2nd
  • Vivian and Constance D'Aramis: September 17th
  • Lois Lane: September 18th
  • Pamela Isley: September 22nd
  • Mina Chaytan: September 27th
  • Felicity Smoak: October 10th
  • Lucy Lane: October 15th
  • Parasite: October 15th
  • Lana Lang: October 16th
  • Robert Frost: October 20th
  • Bruce Wayne: October 24th
  • Katherine Kane: October 26th
  • Edward Nygma: October 30th
  • Raven: October 30th
  • Catherine Devereaux: November 23rd
  • Tora Olafsdotter: December 3rd
  • Jinx: December 13th
  • Leslie Willis: December 14th
  • John Corben/Metallo: December 15th
  • Louise Lincoln: December 21st
  • Eve Eden: December 21st
  • Oswald Loomis: December 25th
  • Elaine Marsh Morton: December 31st
So yeah. Cassandra's birthday is technically this turn if you guys want to write omakes about that. I'll be updating her character sheet after the results so that incongruities (she is nine instead of eight) get resolved. I'll add more birthdays as time goes on and I'm interested how many of the easter eggs and references people will catch.
