And finally we have knights of all species! that HAS to be good for morale!
[ ] Gisa Eagleclaw: Gisa Eagleclaw has spent much of the last decade negotiating with foreign cultures, a fact that makes a great deal of sense once one considers her education as an interpreter and linguist. The young hen made a name for herself establishing relations with the numerous Yak clans and assisting with their modernization efforts, facilitating communication between the local population and Imperial experts. Gisa is an idealist who believes that military force should be used only when all other options have failed. Having seen the benefits that the integration of the Diamond Dogs and Crystal Ponies have wrought, she makes no secret of her desire to encourage much closer relationships with neighboring powers in hopes of creating an Empire that encompasses multiple nations, though she admits that this is likely little more than a pipe dream.
It's a dream worth striving for, as long as we don't put it above the lives of the people.
We already have the crystal protectorate under our aegis, and it's not yet impossible to bring the yaks closer to us. Our years of fair dealings and aid to them give us a good amount of goodwill, we have a decent chance (and if we want to go that route she's clearly the best suited to that. Also, less idealistically, we want their oricalchum).
Our ties with Neighpon will likely get closer with time, especially once we start the immigration campaign.
It's still too sooon to know what will happen with Canterbury and (after the slaver thing is over) Maretonia, but an alliance/federation/empire covering the whole continent it's not impossible, though very unlikely to be completed under Garrick's rule. Still we can work towards it as much as we can, and Gawain will complete his father's work
Rail Line connecting Central Gryphus and the Crystal City constructed. +200 Tax Income, New Actions Unlocked.
And we have our first rail line! yay! I'm curious to see what we unlocked
Hundreds of tons of steel are painstakingly shaped into the metal rails that will carry dozens of steam engines and hundreds of train cars as entire forests are leveled for the lumber needed to hold the rails together.
...maybe that lumberjack action isn't that unnecessary. Turns out, we DO need the lumber
interesting. I wonder though: the crystal heart was capable of relocating to the tallest spire. If we were to build similar ones in close cities, would it be able to move itself there if needed?
Also we definitely are not able to replicate it, but maybe,
just maybe, we could in the future be able to communicate with it, or maybe even partially reprogram it/add functions to it (though the last one would be a hard sell to the crystal ponies).
-Arming the Abolitionists:
shadow war is best war. Maretonian slavers suffer, our people rejoice, the abolitionists are gratefull... everyone wins! (well...everyone that matter

[ ] Geology: Pearl has taken a somewhat unusual interest in minerals, mining and associated objects and activities, often taking the opportunity to talk to any Diamond Dogs willing to share their considerable expertise in the subject. It may be a tad odd, but if she has a passion for it, why not cultivate it?
so we have the crystal pony princess having an interest in crystals? I wonder what we should choose
.
We should definitely try and have her interact with the heart in a few years. or even better, try to have the whole imperial family (maybe + Ivory Rook and the crystal knights' grandmaster) in its presence. If he's somewhat sentient maybe it can feel that we're a focus of adoration/veneration/respect from all the crystal ponies, and react in some way to it. (....maybe triggering an ascension? I still have hope! If not Garrick, we might still get an ascended Gleaming Pearl as eternal princess of the crystal protectorate, in a similar way as how Gwyndlyn is the designated regent.)
(I'm now imagining all our children ascending: Gawain for eternal emperor, Gwin as regent, advisor and protector, Pearl as alicorn princess for the protectorate, Gilda...ok, i don't know. immortal ambassador to the other kingdoms?)
..Actually, wouldn't it be fitting if the faith council was held in the presence of the crystal heart? I think that could cause something
interesting to happen.
I know the last two comments in this line of thought are jokes, yet I would like to express my opinion on this. Can we be a mortal emperor? That would be so much more epic. In a world of divines, gods, and immortals, a mortal being is able to keep up and be on par with them.
If ascending is possible for us, wouldn't an emperor who started mortal but ascended on its own merit be even more epic?
In the end I'm fine with both scenarios, but I don't think Garrick (or one or more of our children) becoming immortal would cheapen the story, if it's done the right way.
I think its time we finally got started on those airships next turn. I means its the first step, but having a floating aircraft carrier would be pretty good.
I agree, though we need to see what actions we have next turn. Both aircraft carriers and bombers (and maybe a flying hospital?) would be nice additions to have.
