[X] Fight aggressively, using her arts to defeat him proactively with her more direct arts.
-[x] Flavor: with our newfound mastery, cast all we behold into wintery night, ending our foe with our frozen serenade.
-[x] Echoes -> MotV to create darkness to boost GCD -> Go on offense with Hoarfrost + sword. Use CtE (non-touch) if sufficiently pressured. Defense priority: HRA > GCD > TRD; Deepwood only if there's a really big attack we need to block?). Sixiang spams dispels.

Huh... pretty sure being backed in a corner makes it easier for the Falcon to divebomb us, not harder. It limits the angle we can dodge in, more than the angles he can attack us in.
Not really. We can dodge forward to avoid an attack by the Falcon, but if the falcon misses us with a dive bomb and we are too close to the boundary, it will encounter the boundary and the boundary will be enforced by the Elder, whatever that means.

Additionally, the falcon would need more space to divebomb then the space we need to dodge.

You know what, I think I can't justify using MotV. The debuff to the defence seems non-relevant given our relative advantage to our own offence, and he seems to have prepared for perception filters. As such it's just a very long prep for a Darkness effect, when we have Twilight Beauty with our robe.

-[x] Echoes (use Twilight Beauty to decrease light levels) and hopefully tag him with our coherent Sword -> Go on offense with Hoarfrost + continue using our domain weapon. If Liang He is tagged with HR, maybe also tag his spirit beast. Use CtE (non-touch) if sufficiently pressured. Defense priority: HRA > GCD > TRD; Deepwood only if there's a really big attack we need to block?). Sixiang spams dispels.

Im fine with this aggresive plan.

Mmm yeah, part of the problem here is that we don't know how much Darkness increases GCD by really. Like, what if it makes it so we effectively have GCDx2?

There's definitely a solid case that it's not really worth it, yeah.

@yrsillar, couple of questions:
  • If Sixiang uses Passage of Rustling Breeze to buff our stealth, does this make FVM and PLR's perception tests more effective? Or does it only work if we actually enter stealth?
  • Any chance we could get an estimate of how much better Darkness makes GCD? Like, does it double its power? Less? More?

The thing is - swordboi did have his maybe-perseption talisman, but his bird didn't, so it's still worth it. And if swordboi tried to buff bird's perception then Six know what to do.

The main problem of MotV is that our p.Avoid is below his p.Hit. He will surely have a movement art that lets him get close, multi-attacker gives him effective A Hit (before active techs). Echoes and increased dodge can mitigate it, but what if he has active techs that give Hit too? If he really has a perception boost then the MotV action risks to be an effective 'do nothing'

Here is several maybe that can move scales in favor of MotV:
1.Does Sixiang count us add combatant? Sure he/she incorporeal, but still can meaningfully contribute to battle, so does it count? If does then swordboi didn't have advantage here.
Moreover our Sword does count as + combatant. So even in worst scenario we have 3v2 not 2v1.
2.If the Techs that give him Hit work as buffs, then Six can dispel them.
3.We don't really know if his Peception boost from talisman would be enough to ignore MotV, but we do know that Echoes can give 1 rank Hit boost to MotV, so even if it's Perception debuff wouldn't be enough it will still stuck if LQ decide for some reason use PLR or other FVM Techs.
4.Boosted by Echoes MotV will have S Hit, more than enough to debuff his bird, who (hopefully) didn't have Perception talisman.

Yeah, I think this is just a bad fight for FVM. Robe dimness is actionless right? Just seems more efficient for our purposes today.

In a fight with multiple combatants, each opponent attacking a single target receives stacking bonus of 5 to hit and penetration per individual

Multiattacker doesnt cancel itself out. 3 vs 2 means just that he gets +10 hit and pen while we get +5. i think this can get very odd results in group vs group combat, but maybe it is there to promote aggressive strategies?

-[X] Fill the entire fight arena with mists to frustrate the prying eyes of the audience, then neutralize his defensive talismans by using OwS to exit his shadow within his billowy robes.

Victory goes to the bold, but prudence pays.

Edit: think about it tho. The elder will stop things from exiting the fight arena, so it'd just be this big rectangular prism full of mists. Hilarious.

Not until next rank.
Rank H = 4 ranks down
Rank G= 2 ranks down
Rank F = 1 rank down
Rank E &up= No ranks down

Domain weapons do not count as additional combatants for determining multiattacker bonuses until domain rank 3.
Correct me if i am wrong, but our Domain is Rank 3. At first it was just Sp. Def. to our allies with SL 4 and higher, than it start giving + Composure and Resolve and this Turn it evolved into something useful. Moreover our Sword is Rank F, (H-G-F-E) third of them and it can't evolve without advancing Domain.
So i say that our Sword did count for multiattacker bonus.

Nah, it's rank 2. Domain started at 0.

Old system terminology confusion.

Ling Qi straightened up, having politely delivered her challenge to the young man as he exited the sealed training field she had tracked him too. Letting out a breath she prepared herself for his response. When she met his grey eyes however, she did not find what she expected there.

He smiled earnestly as he bowed in return, clasping his hands in front of his chest. "It would be my honor to test my blade against you Lady Ling. I am certain you have only grown stronger since your display of prowess in the tournament. I only hope that this humble swordsman does not disappoint."

Ling Qi tried to ignore the way her cheeks heated at the praise…

Stop embellishing Sixiang, Ling Qi thought sternly, keeping her expression even as she scolded the muse.

"Oh c'mon, he's cute, and shaped just the way you like too," Sixiang complained.

How do you even know that, he was wearing those billowy robes yesterday too, Ling Qi thought in exasperation.

Sixiang scoffed silently. "Like that'll stop me. The wind gets everywhere you know?"

Through a great effort of will Ling Qi prevented her eyebrow from twitching. She almost felt her cheeks catch on fire as the Elder shot her a knowing look out of the corner of his eye.

Elder: "Thats gonna be a funny at the watercooler later"

Not many votes for this one. I guess there is either not much fear, or the bad timing of the update dropping when SV was crapping out didn't help.

I guess it's more the latter, because 'not much fear' votes still get more than this.

-[X] use the HR -> CtE combo as the main offense (use the distance CtE version at Very Close (40 meter) or closer range), SES to prevent dipels, TRF (mainly HRA) if we need to defend, Sixiang for dispels (offensive and defensive ones); try to win fast to minimize the drawback of fighting him + spirit beast

-[X] Layer her arts one on top of the other, establishing dominion over the battlefield. There is no rush to deal damage or drain Qi; instead, work to stack the fight in her favor, avoiding attacks that would cripple, dispelling effects that would debilitate, and all the while laying down her own arts.
