Oh, they brought their own weirwoods? If they practice the traditional version then I'm expecting to see Skagosi-like practices. I take it all men sentenced to die bleed before the Heart Trees?

Then again, if they actually have weirwoods, whoever happens to be the greenseer of this time should have a very, very long-distance connection to the continent.
No, they brought weirwood seeds, and quickened them with the blood of men. Yes, they still perform human sacrifice. Like I said, extremly awkward.

The way ASR works requires it to be used as a separate effect for each creature whose SR you wish to overcome. That would require it to be command activated.

It would cost 5,040 IM to create an item capable of using ASR at will. 3,023 IM would get you an item that functions 3/Day.

Do eternal wands use the caster level/hd of the user, or as if it were the main CL of the spell?

They are cool, but actually pretty niche. For their cost, with the existence of PoSK and Stars of Sallosh, there are few spells we might want with them.

Basically, utility spell you can see yourself casting every one or two days at the least - frequently enough that you want to keep the spellslot, but no more than twice a day. Google brought me this page, which has some unrelated stuff, but the spell suggestions should be looked at.

Best Spells for Eternal Wands

By the way @DragonParadox, does Varys have to be alive to make simulacrums of him? I wanted to get a few gallons of blood and maybe a limb or two as stockpiles. You never know when you need an expendible and powerful rogue.

If he wakes up he has to die. There's that one spell that lets you remember anything you've experienced in perfect clarity. We can't risk that.

If there's any hope for him staying alive, it'll be if he's unconscious. Otherwise simulacrum it is.
He's getting Simulacrum'd even if he doesn't wake up, IMO.

No, Eternal Wands cast at minimum spell level by default. We can probably increase that, but it would make them even more expensive, prohibitively so IMO.

Simulacrum creates a duplicate at half the original's level. It won't ever be powerful. It's only really useful as a Varys stand in.

Eh, well...
Yeah, this.
I'm fine with him being turned into a simulacrum. I was only pointing out to the people suggesting we let him live that him waking up here is an absolute death sentence.
It just has to be fresh. The Preserve organ cantrip will do to keep blood in that state.
Excellent.

@DragonParadox, three dozen gallons of preserved Varys parts please.

We're talking a level 7 or 8 rogue simulacrum. Even better, a disposable rogue.

That's plenty powerful for me.

The main question is, does Pycelle have any use or redeeming qualities that would make us inclined to keep him alive?

Simulacrum are high maintenance. Repairing damage, for instance, requires a great deal of time in a laboratory. Any place where you would actually want to use a Rogue of that level, you're going to end up having to repair some amount of damage.

And they can't level up or gain XP. It just seems like a lot of trouble and wasted time for relatively little effect.

I would rather train real PCs in this case.

The only thing I can think of -- we wouldn't have to worry about him being discovered as a simulacrum.

That's it.

There is no other reason to let him live.

That and his simulacrum would probably be genuinely incompetent now that I think about it... I don't trust it not to get discovered. Varys is the only one who could reasonably stay disguised as a simulacrum. We've literally seen proof of it.

Unlikely. And really, a few skill points here and there can be made up with Competence bonus items and our doppleVarys. Oh yeah, and Bloodraven.
