[X] Clear the towers, force open the gates let the legions march on

Pageantry isn't as important as legendary deeds, and more coldly, blooding our men.

Yeah, the victory would have been more world-shaking if we hadn't participated actually.
Dragons winning wars is kinda expected. Unsullied losing a fair melee isn't!

@Artemis1992 maybe they're immune to fear?

I would rather not sit still and let towers of archers shoot at us.

Viserys always intended to shatter the Unsullied through overwhelming firepower; it just isn't practical to try to fight them hoping attrition will favor you. They'll fight to the last if you kill them slowly. You need an alpha strike to really reach their morale's breaking point.

If these had been mercenaries or peasant levies or similar, we could have let the Legion have their fun and they would have suffered minimal casualties still.

They're elite troops so they'll have some HD but Ser Richard was only level four when we met him and already a veteran, individually trained knight - they won't all be higher than that. I'd give a circumstance bonus for being in a big formation of likewise brainwashed battle brothers and maybe another for having someone in front who they can stab. Against dragon fear they'd need more than just a good will save for a 100% stand though.

I did not calculate that yet. They did not really do that much compared to the dragonfire and fireballs.
That's fine. Over the course of the rest of the battle as well as the cleanup efforts in the days after, they should get enough XP to level as a whole. Some might even jump by two levels. Are they making use of those nice double crossbows we had made for them?

So, imagining these guys as Fighter 6 due to pushing the envelop like Rhaella does, something like STR 16/DEX 13/CON 14/INT 10/WIS 12/CHA 8, use something that's essentially Reinforced Studded Leather and a buckler and a Mwk longspear, or perhaps a greatspear because why not go nuts, right?

Feats: 10 - WF (Greatspear), Weapon Spz, Power Attack, Shield and Pike, Shorten Haft, Shield Specialization, Shield Ward, Shield Wall, Improved Iron Will, Combat Reflexes

So around:
HP: 47
AC: 19
Atk: Greatspear +11/+6 (2d6+6/x3) (+9/+4 if striking adjacent opponent)

Saves:
Fort: +7
Ref: +3
Will: +7

With maybe an immunity to Fear. This is probably a very best-case build for them, which is actually pretty fearsome. Good AC, great striking power, all around high saves due their improved iron will and elite array. This is essentially a CR 6 melee PC with two flaws, while our guys are technically CR 1.5 NPCs.

And even then, they hit our dudes on 19-20 (or only Nat 20s if they are adjacent) for around 12 damage (out of 23). Our dudes hit on ~8+ for 18 damage (out of 47).

That is a pretty scary friggin' build. An army of PCs just doesn't seem fair.

If we pull a Dany and snatch several thousand Unsullied, I shudder to imagine what we could make of them.

@DragonParadox was this narrow street fighting? Or were there many thousand unsullied?

Because our breath weapon catches ~315 guys per use if we are flying overhead, same a Amrelath's, and a simple fireball catches ~50 people.

They are using fiery burst mostly because they figure the moral damage is greater then just more bolts in the air.

There were a few hundreds, patrols gathered in haste into a line formation. lesser soldiers would likely not even have manged to from up in time

@DragonParadox, what are your thoughtson these stats for the cultists blade from my omake?

Blights Triumph
Carved from the immaculate bone of an angel, this long dagger was irrevocably tainted by profane rites. The once pure material is no cracked and fading with veins of virulent pus cris-crossing through it. Despite it's broken appearance, it carves through flesh and bone with ease, leaving only blackened tissue behind and spreading decay to any who touch it.

Effects:
- Enhancement Bonus +1
- Caustic Weapon - Deals 1d6 of acid damage on a successful hit and 1 HP of acid damage to any who touch the blade with their bare flesh.
- Wounding - Deals 1 point of Constitution Damage on a successful hit.
- Keen - Doubled crit range.
- Infectous - On a confirmed critical hit, the hit person is subject to the spell Greater Contagion (CL 15). The wielder can sacrifice up to 20 HP to add a bonus of +1 per 2 HP sacrificed to the Caster Level Check to overcome Spell Resistance

Dagger: 1d4 + 1 + 1d6 (Acid) 17-20/x2

@DragonParadox, okay?
@Duesal, this is what I had in mind.

Everyone is going on about using this blade or sacarafing it. Why not get Yarel to advise us on how to redeem it? :).

(and if it's not worth the effort, it can freeze it)

@Goldfish Viserys notes that the results of the clash resulted in very few casualties ultimately.

Perhaps because we obliterated entire ranks of enemies.

It's a damn shame, there are so many great effects stuffed into the one artifact. :( One day I hope to get an artifact this powerful that people don't want to get rid of.

That said, sacrifice isn't a loss by any means. It could probably grow a Tier-3 Heart Tree all on its own, with a bonus reward. Four effects crammed onto a single blade? Yeah, that stuff is heavy.

I imagine they are level 6, but in a martial class a good deal worse than Fighter, same HD and even better Will-saves, but worse attack and feats, because while Unsullied are good, they aren't take on an equivalent amount of Knights good, so I imagine they have an absolutely atrocious custom class, and just have extremely high levels, due to how much and how hard training they go though.
