@Diomedon You can also have two tracks: Leader and Commander, split by aptitude. A Second Sergeant is promoted to First Sergent is promoted to Second Lt is promoted to First Lt.

A Vice-Commander is promoted to Commander is promoted to Vice-Captain is promoted to Captain.

The Vice and Second positions exist to mostly aid their superiors during their course of duty, but can be relied upon to follow orders if they need to split up, or take command for their fallen leader. This is all the neater as their build doesn't actually change, they maybe gain a level, if that.

Thus, we have a backup commander and comprehensive coverage of auras, even if the Lts and Captains don't count unless they join in the Commander/Serjeant position for the battle.

In tangential matters, for our General and Lt General, I think something sorta-crazy like Expert 5 and full of Skill Focuses would actually be the best.
I've just checked and it's actually just 30% of all weapons, though the sheer number oft them in close proximity should be enough to make sure there is light.

In my mind, the Magic Army results in blood-red, ghostly flames on the armor and weapons when cast by Viserys. Having them shed equally red light would be the icing on the intimidation cake.
However, it gets better in that each of them carries three weapons: thinblade and two javelins.

That this create adventurer-bait in that battle buddies will probably be promoted together is a nice bonus.

After all, if your Commander is getting the bump to Vice Captain, he will want his reliable buddy First Serjeant to keep serving as he has, leading from the front for him, so you can have your Second Serjeant Buddy dragged to the newly-opened position of First Serjeant, as to keep things smooth.

In the end, the power of Friendship shines through on every level :V

The glowing weapons would neatly solved the matter of a banner for the first legion: Upon a black field, from a vertical black thinblade, which is outlined in red, six beams of red streak outwards.

so what youre saying is, we have an army of Hawkeyes and Mustangs?

What level would a high ranking leader be expected to have in the legion? So do we plan to conquer yi ti someday?

I swear to god if people start calling themselves young masters and venerable elders while we aren't conquering them someone is getting their soul eaten by yss.

Someone is getting their soul eaten by Yss anyways, it only change who that someone is, we aren't going to stop feeding Vee's pet snake.

Ooh, just realized.
While they began, he pulled the most vital piece of the rite from his robes. A long dagger of what once wase purest, flawless white. The bone of an angel. Purity given form, yet even this had succumbed to decay. Now the material was cracked, splintered and foul. Green and black ran through the white and the smell of pus would cling to his hand for hours after handling it. That he could even touch it with his bare flesh was a sign of how much favor the lords had shown him.
Since Azel's omake is canon, that means this is part of the loot. It's going to make a wonderful sacrifice. :D

Stupid fucking cultist never learn I mean for ducks sakes
It's good for us that they never learn. They're endless fodder for both propaganda and sacrifices. A common enemy is useful to unite the masses. This is why I have a love-hate relationship with the Deep Ones. They're annoying as hell (downright infuriating, in fact, especially when they threatened to do a character assassination), but they also make great sacrifices and everyone can get behind the spirit of genociding them. The same principle applies to fiends and the Others. We get the chance to use existential threats to make everyone else fall in line.

True but they are just so stupid why couldn't our political enemies be more stupid.

Hm... I mostly included it as a prop, but I do have a few ideas what it could do...
I want to stockpile it among other artifacts to ease the Night's Watch into Blood Sacrifice.

Braavos and Mantarys can both provide their own sacrifice, the Night's Watch on the other hand needs help.

What ideas did you have for it?

Wow. These cultists are incompetent twits. Their spies even more so. They saw the disciplined, well armed and armored legionnaires and thought rabble? Although they could be double agents for Viserys.

Let me write something up.

Not really. They never bothered to gather intel on the Legion, thinking regular soldiers no threat to their hordes of undead and DR/5+ Daemons.

So the info they have is what the magisters have spread: "criminals, pirates and bloodthirsty slaves who will come to rape and pillage everything in sight"

No one wants to admit they're more fucked than they think they are. The idea that Viserys Targaryen has the best equipped (and trained) professional standing army in the hemisphere isn't something anyone wants to admit.

Nor do they have to, the fact that he can turn into a fire breathing dragon sort of sucks up everyone's attention.

Blights Triumph
Carved from the immaculate bone of an angel, this long dagger was irrevocably tainted by profane rites. The once pure material is no cracked and fading with veins of virulent pus cris-crossing through it. Despite it's broken appearance, it carves through flesh and bone with ease, leaving only blackened tissue behind and spreading decay to any who touch it.

Effects:
- Enhancement Bonus +1
- Caustic Weapon - Deals 1d6 of acid damage on a successful hit and 1 HP of acid damage to any who touch the blade with their bare flesh.
- Wounding - Deals 1 point of Constitution Damage on a successful hit.
- Keen - Doubled crit range.
- Infectous - On a confirmed critical hit, the hit person is subject to the spell Greater Contagion (CL 15). The wielder can sacrifice up to 20 HP to add a bonus of +1 per 2 HP sacrificed to the Caster Level Check to overcome Spell Resistance

Dagger: 1d4 + 1 + 1d6 (Acid) 17-20/x2

@DragonParadox, okay?
@Duesal, this is what I had in mind.

Very nice. I don't want to sacrifice it anymore, I want to see if there's a safe way for Garin to wield it. Imagine stabbing an enemy caster with this thing and having them double over from the Black Plague in the middle of the fight.

I guess we can go with the tried-and-tested ask our allied gods to subvert it for us? In the omake you made a note of how it's unsafe for normal people to even touch it, so that definitely needs to be fixed.

I want it either sacrificed or purified in some way, the artifact is vile, using that kind of thing, is the kind of actions that can lead to strife with our Archon allies.

Not particularly. All of its effects can be healed with powerful enough magic. Killing our enemies via disease isn't much worse than the various death effects we employ.

Anyone else see the potential for this spell?

It's a longer lasting, but weaker version of Suspension which @Deliste found. The longer duration is a plus, but the best aspect of this spell is that it also turns the stone Invisible. There are all sorts of interesting ways to use them both for offensive or defensive purposes.

Both spells are vulnerable to being Dispelled, so building semi-permanent structures wouldn't be ideal, but what if the stone itself is the structure? At 13th level, Stone Trap can levitate up to 2,600 pounds. Lya or Viserys could easily Fabricate small stone structures weighing 2,000 pounds, with 600 pounds left over for an occupant and supplies. We could put up Invisible watch posts wherever we wanted, hidden guard stations, etc.

I'm gonna have to think about the best way to exploit these spells. Fortunately, I've got a long drive back to my hometown this morning, so I'll have time to think.

*blinks*

I should have expected this reaction when I made a hideously disgusting Daemon artifact, but I honestly didn't.

@Duesal, you are aware that this is made from archon bone and the concept of decay given physical form?
