@BoneyM Will our wizards be hampered at all in their casting or counterspelling if we place them with the dwarfs? Will the dwarf's magic resistance be hampered if we place a wizard with them?

We're not allowed to directly combo spells like that.
Wasn't the example using light magic with shadow magic though? This would be two spells cast by the same wizard in the same wind so I doubt they'd be as much chance of negative reaction.

No, I'm reading the whole 'magic resistance goes away if the dwarves have a wizard' thing as wargame balance and not an actual in-universe phenomenon.

Correct, using Pall of Darkness to create the darkness necessary for Substance of Shadow is possible. The Pall doesn't last long in absolute terms, but in combat terms it'll last for long enough.

@WorldSlayer The vote tally is confused now due to both your old and new plans sharing exactly the same name and someone having voted for the former before you posted the latter.
Now anyone voting for your plan only by name gets logged in as voting for the old version. @buli-buli was the first victim to that.
Maybe you should make your first plan void by taking out all the X from the brackets. That way @No7sHere would default to your new plan as well though I think.

The vote tally looked OK when I checked. But just in case I've gone ahead and removed the x's from when I first put up the vote.

[X] Plan Wizard Hunter

Because Condrin's forces are dangerous to a wizard's health.

Trust, yes, but also ignorance. If you were a runepriest things would be different, but he hasn't the slightest clue how best to command manling wizards. Does he treat you like a particularly volatile siege weapon? Like a one-manling Ranger squad? Like a runic banner? Luckily he doesn't have to make that decision, because between your previous good deeds and your contributions to the campaign he's got no problem with allowing you to manage yourself and the journeymanlings.
Plus, if nothing else, we can just grab our sword and start slicing shit up, unlike most wizards.

[X] Plan Wizard Hunter

More because of it being the biggest vote with Mathilde assassining, rather than fearing for our journeymanlings.

How is "Striking at enemy lines wherever they seem most vulnerable", which is Mathilde's activity in two leading plans, is "fearing for our journeymanlings"?
They're separate reasons and have nothing to do with each other.

Basically Plan Wizard Hunter has two things about it that stand out from the other plans.

1) Mathidle attacks the flank
a) chosen because this implies an early insertion allowing for possible assassination and sabotage
b) chosen because we've been informed that the demigryph knights are already going to be striking at vulnerabilities in the enemy lines

2) Fear for Journeymanlings
a) chosen because having our wizards right next to the staunch traditionalists when their traditions include magic user killing isn't the most desirable idea
b) chosen because having our junior journeyman Max paired with his more experienced colleague seems like a good idea for what is likely his first major battle

Isn't there some sort of feud between the two gold journeymanlings? I am not sure if this battle is a good opportunity to test if they can put it aside when necessary.

Working with Panoramia (Jade Wizard who has previously been in large scale battle). Johann is the one he doesn't want to work with.

[] Plan Wizard Hunter

has them both working with Titus's skirmishers since Titus seems like a good guy, halflings are likely to avoid major battles and if they do then magic support could be crucial, and also having access to counter spelling would likely be handy for them.

The alternative would be the dwarf rangers but I expect with their heavier armor and weapons, natural magic resistance and probably various runic tricks will be less in need of support and more likely to face heavier fighting. Also dwarf rangers aren't all that respected by the rest of the dwarfs so there's unlikely to be a great deal of prestige offered for teaming up with them.

Where's my Thumbs Up rating when I need it?

The Golds are staying separate, the plan just calls for both independent wizards (Pan and Max) to go with what I consider a suboptimal unit rather than with the scared peasants and/or two different units.

Fighting with his Clan in the thick of things.

AHHHHH! It's happening again!

Hopefully these dice will be kinder to Belegor than they were to Van Hal. And I probably just jinxed us. Oh well, at least we're probably safe. As long as we don't get killed. Or captured. Because being able to come back from death does not mean we can't be knocked unconscious or taken prisoner. And uh...greenskin or skaven prisoners don't typically have hopeful futures.

@Zaratustra, @Prospalz and @ everyone who voted for one of the top two plans:
Is there any specific reason that you prefer Max to accompany Cordrin's human forces as opposed to one of the other two (either joining Panoramia or not)?
I feel like I can be more happy with the current tally if only I hear a couple of convincing arguments in favor of the only part that I'm currently iffy about.
