It seems like a good time to examine where we are going and how we intend to get there.
Short term:
We need to go do our trials. We have three basic options as I see it.
1) Just go do the trials, relying on our existing knowledge and accomplishments.
2) Spend half a turn cramming spells into our head, overwork included, then do the exam.
3) Spend one turn doing a bit enchanting, a bit of spell study and a bit of other work. Then take the test next turn.
Off hand I favour 3 but I can see reasons for each.
Medium term:
I had wanted to keep working for the betterment of Stirland. However the EC, however polite she tried to be, dislikes us enough that she couldn't even be bothered to send us a 'No thank you.' message. Her sypmaster is likely to be just as bad as he is probably the one that taught her that opinion. Our fief is as unassuming as it first appeared and the loose end (the not openly hostile vampire) is gone.
So my plan would be to get the factory producing gunpowder then fold it into the EIC. Do a bit of work buffing the EIC. And otherwise just sink action after action into the research backlog. If Stirland needs us they can get in touch through Wilhelmina or Anton.
Long term:
It is entirely possible that the situation in Stirland will change. If so, if we are called then I am all in favour of answering. However it may not. It may be that when we finish our research the EC and her spymaster will still consider us 'surplus to requirements'. If that is the case then I say it will be time to move on.
I propose we go to Miragliano, the most northern of the Tilean cities. <snip>
