[X] Plan Finishing it
[X] Leave a garrison; it is now de facto Stirland, not just de jure.
-[X] Medium Garrison - 6k men, 20 cannon.
[X] Execute him publicly, in the traditional way. Burn him at the stake. (+morale)
[X] Nothing has changed. We have cannon, we have dragon. Castle Drakenhof falls.

They kinda disappeared in the tunnels under city with their maybe-dead leader, so they may very well die before filing that report.

And it seems that our greatswords borrowed a page or two from Slayers' book.

Oh, @Omegahugger had an excellent thought. @BoneyM , Kasmir failed with Van Hal, but can he heal us? We are de-facto commander and only wizard, that wound penalty has to go.
I kinda hope Kasmir is able to heal us (no matter how bitter that would feel...), so we're healthy enough to take part of the battle.

I want to personally plunge the Orc Hewer into the bongo that is the so-called Elector Countess!
Kasmir had a -20 doubt penalty BEFORE his god refused to give him the even a drop of healing when he spent 30 minutes trying to heal a loyal sigmarite UNDER GUNPOINT, with neither Van Hal's lifetime of service nor the threat of his own death being enough to make Sigmar bother. I would not be surprised if that penalty was at least doubled by now.

Divine magic is a lot safer than arcane, but if there was ever an ideal situation for the daemonic interference critfail, it's this.

It looks like this campaign's success is relying mostly on Asarnil and his dragon at this point. Granted, he's the reason we thought this was even possible, but losing Hexensohn and Co. is going to hurt if we run into any heavy magical resistance.

the mage girl should apologize to Kashmir for even thinking of killing him, and mend any broken bridges.

Did the artillery wipeout the greatswords?

Generally speaking, how flammable is a vampire castle? Would dragon fire work on vampire enchament if any?

I do have to remind everyone that the shadow mage girl, does not deserve revenge, she and the count invaded first, they are technically in the wrong, and the undead just defended themselves.
When we started this quest, on day 1, Isabella's"the elector countess"'s berserker assassins were already within our castle walls. She started this, by a wide margin. Not to mention the vast array of crimes against men, gods, and nature that she has committed.
EDIT-no, boney never did name her

[X] Nothing good can grow in such tainted soil. Burn it to the ground.
[X] Execute him at once, before he awakens. (+1 dead necromancer, 0 risks)

Goddamn all the spellcasters involved in this campaign are incompetent. Jori blew himself up, Kasmir failed to heal Van Hal repeatedly, the necromancer was so terrible at spellcasting that even Mathilde got impatient and thought the he should go ahead and get done with it, and finally the Amethyst Patriarch managed to kill himself doing stuff unrelated to the campaign. Mathilde only avoided the curse of ineptitude due to picking up a sword and not actually casting spells.

No wonder the dwarves have been so impressive this battle, they don't use magic.

Looks like i might have been mixed up. I remembered she was pretending to be a Von Carstein and thought she was going straight for the top in regards to fake names.
EDIT-yeah that's def not her name, i think we were just talking about isabella and her at the same time.

With this impressive death toll, incompetent glory hound would be scared off; but this means the new count would bring in fresh competent people to replace the dead.

Is there a way to counteract bad luck or bad rolls. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense for luck to determine everything, when compared to skills.

Did the mage girl fired on her own soldiers causing the greatswordsmen to be wipe out in friendly fire?

Mathilde, was heavily stressed by the thought of Abelhelm dying. As was Kasmir. Plus, you know, the whole war going on outside. Now isn't the time for apologies. Especially not when one or both of us could possibly die in the next couple of turns. Maybe after this.

As for the Greatswords, they died to the enemy, time and again. Finally, Markus led a suicide charge into the Townhouse. That we still bombarded it says that he died trying to take it, not to the shelling.

@BoneyM
Is "Have your army watchers interrogate more cooperative citizens about undead forces they've seen around" a valid write-in? We're going in blinded, we don't even know "countess" has some dark knights IC, only OOC. The identification forms should work just as good as a poll, I think. There's a question of who can compile it into a single report, though. We don't have time.

That we still bombarded it says that he died trying to take it, not to the shelling.
There are no reports of his death, though, and no body. I guess we'll still see him, in living flesh or otherwise.

Burn it down, nothing good can come of Drakenhof, just burn this shit until nothing but ashes remain.

The new count is in all probability going to be a young Van Hal with barely any life experience.

On one hand, young count means easy to manipulate professionally guide; but on the other it means lack of additional resources for the count and by extension the province.

Wonder what happened to the witchhunters, now their main local backer is dead.

At this point, I've come to the conclusion that Mathilde is the only competent wizard around. I mean, sure, actual competence has nothing to do with it, but the rolls have made wizards monumentally useless.

Well, both of our dead wizards were killed off-screen by critfails. I mean, a natural one is bad, but not even a Patriarch gets the kind of plot armor that had Van Hal take several bad rolls to die from. At this point, if the Emperor ever shows up in Sylvania, I half-expect him to also roll a insta-kill natural one, too.

Yes, the Amethyst wizards were poking some kind of terribly dangerous artifact, which in that context a natural one is really bad. But this is the third time we've had natural ones leading to character death in such a short timespan, and that kind of precedent is worrying.

Did three experienced Amethyst Battle Wizards including the top dog of their entire order just die?

Those critfails are really hurting. The only reason there's even a semblance of a chance is the dragon.
