@DragonParadox

Now that we have Theon and Asha on our side, mostly and for now, regarding the Drowned God, may I ask what Theon's problem during our talk with Relath was, were speaking against Drowny would have been a faux pas appearantly?

The fact that you would have been speaking against the only god he had ever worshiped on the strength of minutes acquaintance to someone in a emotionally vulnerable position.

Anyway vote closed.

Does Viscerys get experience from anything other than killing because while I do think we are going to be killing many things I am not sure if it takes into account anything else?

Sure.

And by the way, we now do have board meetings. :V

So far we have a administrative board, a mercantile board and now a military board.
I wanna fit in. :p But I have no idea of the mechanics of this quest just make sure and try to make the legion op I really want to get to conquering the slaver countries and adding the unsullied and other things into our armies and offering restoration of their dicks. I assume we will at least restore dicks to the higher placed slaves like commanders and the most elite of their warriors.

Okay, throwing together an Officer Class, its base is the Aristocrat NPC class, with a small handful of class features added (NPCs don't usually get any class features, so being sparse on purpose here).

Officer
Alignment: Any
Hit Die: d8
Class Skills: As Aristocrat
Skill Points at first level: (4 + INT modifier) x4
Skill Points at each additional level: 4 + INT modifier
BaB: Medium Progression
Fort Save: Poor
Reflex Save: Poor
Will Save: Good
Weapon Proficiency: The Officer is proficient in all types of simple and martial weapons, all armors, and all shields.

Class Features:
Battlecry (EX): At first level, gain the feat Battlecry, regardless of prerequisites. This uses one available feat gained at this level. If no feats are gained upon the character's first level of Officer, retrain one existing feat as battlecry.

Commander of Men (EX): At second level, and every third level thereafter, gain a bonus teamwork feat. The Officer may grant one teamwork feat that they know to men under their command as a free action, up to one unit if in mass combat, or up to 30' range otherwise.

Level Base Attack Bonus Fort Save Ref Save Will Save Special
1 +0 +0 +0 +2 Battlecry
2 +1 +0 +0 +3 Commander of Men, Teamwork feat
3 +2 +1 +1 +3
4 +3 +1 +1 +4
5 +3 +1 +1 +4 Teamwork Feat
6 +4 +2 +2 +5
7 +5 +2 +2 +5
8 +6/+1 +2 +2 +6 Teamwork Feat
9 +6/+1 +3 +3 +6
10 +7/+2 +3 +3 +7
11 +8/+3 +3 +3 +7 Teamwork Feat
12 +9/+4 +4 +4 +8
13 +9/+4 +4 +4 +8
14 +10/+5 +4 +4 +9 Teamwork Feat
15 +11/+6/+1 +5 +5 +9
16 +12/+7/+2 +5 +5 +10
17 +12/+7/+2 +5 +5 +10 Teamwork Feat
18 +13/+8/+3 +6 +6 +11
19 +14/+9/+4 +6 +6 +11
20 +15/+10/+5 +6 +6 +12 Teamwork Feat

Basically, the officer has battlecry without having to train Perform (Oratory) or limiting our officers to only level 5 Warriors, and also grants the effect of one teamwork feat to their men. In practice, this means most units have one extra teamwork feat, which I think represents the added coordination of having officers quite nicely, but the higher officers can move towards the front to add their coordination effects as well, representing commanding a particular area more closely in exchange for moving close to the front.

Thoughts?

@DragonParadox thoughts on this "NPC" class to help mechanically represent command and control?

Congratulations, by giving her a huge commission margin, her salary is now 4200 IM per year.

@DragonParadox If we haven't yet talked to Leila IC, I'd like a vote to remove this commission part that honestly, got snuck in during the night. Everyone had agreed to 600 IM. No seven times that.

A lot of people are disagreeing, and that's worrying. She is entirely correct, we need a clearly defined hierarchy for things to work.

Commission is a terrible idea both in setting precedent and managing for scale.

One thing to note is that she would never see the sums we throw at her to craft with, the use of her time without reagents provided would certainly not come close to her base salary (which is way too high) even if she was getting market rate profit.

Part MDCLXXV: A Message from Afar
A Message from Afar

Twenty-Eight Day of the Twelfth Month 292 AC

When considering the matter of the Baelus twins and the tentative show of interest from Bloodraven, you had expected to find them together. By reason of their peculiar power one is more inclined to think of them as a pair than not. Yet you find Reva alone, looking down from a secluded balcony on the courtyard bellow. That much at least makes perfect sense. Those of the dragon blood have ever had a liking to heights.

"Your grace," she greets you, the Westerosi courtesy sounding strangely in the tones of Volantis, only a little worn by her time in the Deep. "Liset is off to buy new paints for her next project. She can hear you through me now, though, and I'll pass along anything she wants to say... unless it is very silly in which case I promise to spare you." The smile upon her lips is a fleeting thing but no less true for it.

"I had thought you could only speak to each other as you others might aloud, not sharing each other's senses," you note.

"We only just learned it," the girl replies, frowning as she tries to recall or perhaps merely ask her sibling. "Twelve days ago it was."

"I'm glad to see you are improving," you offer encouragingly.

"Why?" she asks, light pink eyes gazing fearlessly into yours. "Do you think you will have a use for it?" The words might have sounded resentful, but she speaks them with perfect equanimity.

"I think I may call upon your services one day, yes," you reply truthfully.

Reva grimaces. "Services... you make us sound like merchants."

Seeing little point in launching into a lecture on the folly of disparaging trade, you instead reply, "Service is another word for allegiance or fealty."

"Fair enough... we do owe your house that and more besides, even our souls. You do not actually need them do you?" she asks in the same even tone.

"Of course n..." That is when you notice the glint of amusement in her eye. "You are a terrible little girl, you know," you say, shaking your head in amusement. Then you return to the matter at hand, explaining the chance to learn magic from the Old Gods as well as the guarantee of safety. You stress that this is in no way an obligation but instead an opportunity.

The pause while the sisters confer is so brief you might almost have missed it, then Reva says solemnly, "We would like to learn this magic, for it might be of great use to our House..." Another, longer pause follows. "Speaking of that, we would ask a small favor of you. We wish to send a letter to Volantis attesting that we are still alive and bearing the name Baelus. We have no interest in the wealth or position left behind, for father made it clear since before we learned to speak that we were not welcome to any of it. However, the name we were born to, and that we would keep, openly, not as thieves in the night."

While you understand and sympathize with the impulse, you cannot help but wince, thinking of the rumors that might spread about you in Volantis were it known you 'stole away' the twins as well as Hermetia.

What do you answer?

OOC: Yes, it is still possible for low level NPCs to bluff Viserys if he is not buffed and he rolls low while they roll high.

There's also one additional problem with paying her a commission; it makes enchanting at least ten times more profitable than any other magical profession. Every mage capable of even rudimentary cost-benefit analysis will take all crafting feats they have access to and enter a crafting related prestige classes if they can. It's simply safer and far more lucrative than, than for example, speccing for combat.

And thus the Artificer was borne ...

This Legion better later have a Martial Adapt and Blade Magic subdivision later or their will be fire and blood to pay:mad::anger::rage::mob:
D&D Kung Fu needs more love:cry:

We can always use specialist troops for the third line of shock troops. That said, I'm not sure how much ToB stuff kicks in at the levels we're playing around with (usually levels 3-5).

I'm trying to see a downside. Zherys probably already has enough ammo to attack us if he felt like it. A volantine noble sticking their neck out individually, and us stomping on it shouldn't cause issue with our agreement. I feel like I'm missing an angle here.

Started a private conversation to fine-tune the Legion as we come close to fulfilling our plans. Anyone wanna join?
Can I get an invite too?
Don't think I'll be able to offer anything useful, but after this little speech Viserys gave during Smelter's opening, I can no longer imagine our legions without this song playing in the background :D
