I wanna set up Maretonia as a stable and nominally friendly state without being too overbearing on them. I don't want another protectorate, don't want to make everyone else nervous about Gryphus.

In this turn I am interested in Knight's of the Frontier and She can see the future.

We need to build that area considering many of the beast from Canterbury may flee there.

For the future one it's because there is still a lot we don't know about the Changeling Queen and seeing what she tell us will let us know what she wants. Trouble in this country? She want us to take care of this country which trouble her. Many year of peace in the future? She is planning something and want us to stay put.

So the security runes are a must.
And I want those war airships.

The Summit is pretty necessary, and I kinda feel bad for ignoring the dogs for so long but I want pirates! Libertallian pirates.

Frida has done good work, let's reward her with Griffonstone. She can solidify her place in history. Let's just hope she doesn't add too big of a statue of herself.

I want those cargo airships!
And it'd be nice to supplement them with better booze, but that ursa blood might go bad so that's more urgent. Could help with the security runes.

We definitely need to spy on the changelings.
And capitalize on Maretonia.

Piety is haaaaard.
It'd be nice to finally put up the sea shrines, but I want to expand our own religion, but the crystal heart just got cooler!

Rune sword gift paired with Dragon daughter going abroad would be nice!

I MUST HAVE PROPOSAL!!!!

We have mobilized massively and can stand to demobilize a little and stabilize.

I mean that we have so many volunteers for the Maretonia Campaign, that some jobs are probably not being filled.

I for one am in favor of encouraging another Protectorate. If nothing else, pretending to focus on it will help divert the changelings' attention.

I also kind of want to explore the far east, because there might be the zebras, with potion magic we could potentially industrialize, and they're probably the Africa to our Europe.

Our aerial technology and magic defenses should absolutely take priority though.

"Much less clear. The Royal Guard have always been conservative, but after Pegicles slaughtered most of them and burned Roam I dare say they'll be considering taking a more active role in things going forward. What exactly that role will be remains to be seen. While it's not as apparent or dramatic as it is among the Abolitionists, they're also rather divided as to what their next course of action should be. Most are in favor of reuniting Maretonia and reforming the Monarchy, though there is a small but vocal faction calling for the establishment of an independent, militarized government after the 'failure' of the previous system."

"On the subject of the Monarchy, Countess Copper Top is the most viable candidate for the throne with the most legitimate claim, but considering how the war began and the still existing tensions she's been reluctant to press that claim. Her people would be fully behind her should she attempt to do so, but the reactions of the other two groups would likely decide whether such a bid would be successful."

"And the Abolitionists are split several ways. Some, particularly the few nobles and wealthy merchants amongst them, seek a return to the status quo of a Monarchy, but many of the recently liberated have been advocating for a separation from the rest of the Kingdom and the establishment of a new nation entirely. But the separatist camp is itself divided between those who want full independence, and those who are actually advocating for an application to become a Protectorate of the Empire."
I have to say I'm kinda confused by all of this

Firstly the idea that the Royal Guard seem to genuinely believe they could enforce any of that stuff considering they're outnumbered and outgunned by literally every other faction and aren't exactly popular with any of them either

Secondly the thought that the very few remnants of House White Star could claim any form of legitimacy to the throne, that they really have any influence left considering the government that gave them that power is gone and all their lands are burnt or flooded, the thought that the Abolitionists wouldn't laugh her out of court if she tried to claim the throne and that somehow they're more unified now than they ever were before

Thirdly that the only group of Abolitionists who are pro-Empire are also the ones who for some reason are specifically arguing for the secession of their territory from the rest of Maretonia meaning we are seemingly getting at best a fraction of the country

And fourthly the complete lack of any mention of the whole third of the country that was burned down by Pegicles

Also @Questor are the Gawain personal actions free like usual or do we have to spend actions in these ones

In this plan we will be finally getting that last knight order, also getting on top of making sure nobody uses our own Scry & Die strategy against us. The theme here is reminding our friends why we're such amazing pals to have, like reminding Libertalia who got them this far, also Gwyn deserves a little love and sending a kickass sword with her as a prezzie doesn't hurt either, which should work together with Seaside Shrines pretty well I hope (which could make up for the lack of hanging out with our broski Koryu in while). Support the faction that wants to join us from Maretonia then strike while the iron's hot in the Summit while checking out what the Buggy Queen's up to. Heck this plan even ends the year with a net positive income! Also, Gawain should get the gang back together before popping the question, he has time, don't neglect the other parts of your life like your pop sonny (i kid I kid, lololol).

But seriously, if these 2 options for Gawain ARE incompatible on a longer term scale however... Secret poly route Gawain/Sebastian/Isabelle/Ki-Seong?! QUESTOR TAKE MY MONEY! X3

EDIT: I have since made a updated v2 of this plan, this time w/ more Yaks (I thought about doing the Olenian Aid but figure that we should at least Make some money to save for a rainy day [*or another rushed superproject]) and letting the Maretonia situation simmer, though I am willing to do Emerald Isles trade instead of Yaks if that's more popular. Who Needs Harmony?: An MLP Empire Quest

Seems, like Diplo options will be taken up this year for important stuff. If nothing comes up, I wanna hammer out the Trade Agreements with the Emerald Dogs and Equestria next turn.

[] Plan: Flying High Into The Sunrise
-[] Flying Fortresses: With the development of a final design for a military airship now complete, you can finally begin to fulfill the once impossible dream of an airborne navy. It will require a great deal of work, time and funds to create the manufacturing and support facilities, as well as train an entirely new breed of sky sailor, but once completed your military will possess an edge no other nation in the world can match. Cost: 1500 Time: Two Years. Reward: First Squadron of Military Airships
-[] Security Runes: Cost: 1500. Time: Two Years. Reward: Strategic Fortifications reinforced with Anti-Scrying and Teleportation Runes.
-[] The Iron Steppe: Cost: 1500. Time: Three Years. Reward: Yak-Storm Border Fortified, Improved YakYakistani Relations. Will Finish This Year
-[] Post-War Summit: Cost: 300. Time: One Year. Reward: Maretonian Summit Interlude.

[] Griffonstone Revitalization, Part 1: Cost: 3000. Time: Two Years. Reward: First Stage of Griffonstone Revitalization.
-[] Airships-Commercial Refinement: The prototype Airship has proven itself a resounding success, and your engineers have learned a wealth of new information as they observe its performance. The test flights have generated quite a bit of attention as well, from both the common people and from the rich and influential. You've already had several nobles and business magnates inquire as to how or when they can get their talons on a sky ship of their own. As a former merchant, it's not hard for you to imagine the numerous commercial applications for the new technology. But Archimedes and Genevieve still think the design can be improved, turning the current testbed into a dedicated airborne cargo hauler. Have them prioritize that avenue of research. Cost: 1000. Time: One Year. Reward: Designs for Commercial Airships. New Options Unlocked.
-[] Bio-magical Samples: Cost: 200. Time: One Year. Reward: Possible Applications of Ursa blood and Dragon Remains.
-[] Amenable Abolitionists: Cost: 400. Time: One Year. Reward: Additional support for Successionist Faction of the Abolitionists. Chance of Success: 65%

-[] A Gesture of Friendship: Cost: 500. Time: One Year. Reward: Rune Sword gifted to Emperor Ryuō.
-[] The Land of the Rising Sun: Cost: 300. Time: One Year. Reward: Gwyndlyn visits Neighpon. Potential for rewards and other developments.
-[] The Prince and the Lady: It is obvious, to you and everyone else who sees the two of them together, that Gawain and Isabelle are desperately in love with each other. Though they've kept their relationship discrete (more for the sake of privacy on their dates than any desire to keep their love for each other hidden), at this point half the people in Gryphus Peak know about their nocturnal flights and romantic dinners in the subterranean dog town. It's gotten to the point where the palace staff have started placing bets on when the Prince will finally propose. Judging by his recent visit to a jewelers, it won't be much longer. Cost: 0. Time: One Year. Reward: Gawain asks Isabelle a Very Important Question. (Does not cost an action. Cannot be chosen in the same turn as Gotta get with my Friends)

That's... pretty much what I expected, actually, though it's gratifying to see that the abolitionists apparently like us enough to be 'split' on whether to form their own nation or request protectorate status. Still, it's looking like the situation is far from resolved, and we have quite a bit of diplomacy left ahead of us.

I don't know why we should try and support the Abolitionist Successionists. I would much rather see the nation become whole under a single banner than divide it up. If anyone can give me good reason as to why we should I would be happy to hear it out.

[] Plan: Prepare for a Triumph, Part 1
-[] Security Runes
-[] Flying Fortresses
-[] The Iron Steppe
-[] Post-War Summit
-[] Libertalian Defense Agreement
-[] Arcane College
-[] Griffonstone Revitalization, Part 1
-[] Airships-Commercial Refinement
-[] Bio-magical Samples
-[] Amenable Abolitionists
-[] Riddle of the Labyrinth
-[] Expanded Crystal Worship
-[] Rune-Sword of the Emperor
-[] The Land of the Rising Sun
-[] Gotta get with my Friends

We just beat Pegicles, killed an Ursa Major, and a flight of Dragons. Gryphus is riding high, and let's continue that wave by setting things up. I don't see a reason to start shaking the Canterbury tree quite yet, so let's find out what's Rotten in Minos.

Part 1= Settle down from the war, and get started on the long military projects. See if the rune-sword thing works out. Throw Gawain a secret bachelors party (ie., hanging with all his friends)

Part 2= Gawain pops the question, send out wedding invites to our fellow monarchs (including Olenia, so we can do a little mediating between the caribou and the Neighponese), build some Yak shrines, better breweries, maybe some overtime for seaside shrines & a rune-sword for our fellow emperor.

Part 3= Big imperial wedding with new security runes in place, declare a wedding tournament for Gilda, host all the monarchs and pass on some gifts, unveil the new Flying Fortresses and reveal that they are Gawain & Isabelle's transport & honor-guard for their honeymoon tour (ask them beforehand if they're cool with doing a world tour for their honeymoon). Gives Gryphus a chance to both honor neighbors and literally fly the flag of how awesome we are.

Once Gawain is back, see how he is about taking over day-to-day rulership of the Empire, then put together the Foreign Legion and head out to preemptively kick some Yeti ass, or whatever was discovered in the Minotaur Republics if they're a problem.

[ ] Plan: Rounding Up
-[ ] Knights of the Frontier
There has been concerns that with Canterbury cleaning up their forest we need to up Kestrella security. Beside we neglected this area enough already.
-[ ] Security Runes
This one just seems obvious. Doubt any plan would appear without this one in it.
-[ ] Post-War Summit
We need to be on haste with this. Enough is enough and if left alone they might go to war again.
-[ ] Libertalian Defense Agreement
We invest a lot in Libertalia and with them having no army this agreement makes them ours in all but name.
-[ ] Supplying a Demand
The next best option beside Griffonstone. Remaking that city needs to be at the right time considering it's deep rooted cultural value and post civil war intervention isn't it. I want to wait a few years for it and this is a good second choice.
-[ ] Paddle Steamers
With us taking in Libertalia we need to upgrade our Navy.
-[ ] Better Breweries
We spend far too long without any royal alcohol. There is a certain amount of unsaid prestige a nation will had if they have their own special limited brew.
-[ ] Amenable Abolitionists
I doubt anyone will not choose this.
-[ ] Etymological Studies
Something huge change and we need to know what. Activate the sleeper agents!
-[ ] Seaside Shrines
We had a lot of religion to balance about and this will be the first we ever supported it.
-[ ] Dynasty of Duelists
In accordance with Knights of the Frontier which is done in two year. In the middle of their knight training they can either spectate or join in on the tournament which will raise their spirit more.
-[ ] Gotta get with my Friends
I think it's more appropriate for Gawain to spend time with friends first.

This is largely the same as @Markala's plan but I disagree on some pretty major points:

A) It isn't in our best interests to push for a summit straight away, the more time we have to support the pro-Empire groups and the more time they have to realise how fucked their situation is the more likely it is that the summit goes well for us plus it gives the involved parties some time to calm down

B) We just finished an expensive war and are almost certainly about to spend a ton of money on helping to rebuild Maretonia, now is the time to focus on establishing more trade and expanding our economy and definitely not the time to start an expensive megaproject

C) We'll be doing enough this turn to make Neighpon happy without also having to do their Piety action and despite what some people would have you believe the cult has done absolutely nothing wrong and deserve representation

D) We just got out of a war, now is the perfect time for a royal engagement
I don't know why we should try and support the Abolitionist Successionists. I would much rather see the nation become whole under a single banner than divide it up. If anyone can give me good reason as to why we should I would be happy to hear it out.
Primarily because they're the only pro-Empire faction that we're aware of, I deeply dislike the fact that they're secessionists and find it an extremely strange decision on @Questor's part that kinda just feels like an attempt at stopping us from getting too much from the Maretonia situation but my hope is that if the action goes well enough the idea will gain enough support that they won't feel the need to secede for some strange reason

I say we build up the not!Vikings and head of the obvious war coming through trade. conduct scouting enforce as I don't trust them not to die like when we tried scouting Sombra otherwise. I would think working on the new knight order in the frontier for the inevitable war with the yeti and changlings. Lastly reviving the old capital to its former glory as a sort of middle finger to discord and moral booster

Same plan except I've realized that @jonasquinn has a point about waiting/putting off the Maretonian Summit, so I'm okay with letting it simmer for a bit (1 turn at least to see which way the wind is blowing, maybe even 2 if we really need to hammer it in and set everything up, waiting worked out with the Modernist Yak faction after all). In the meantime, in the spirit of friendship, hey King Rutherford! Wanna reach the next Friend Level!?

EDIT: Or Emerald Isles trade action, I'm not entirely sure which, Yak Pact vs Emerald Dogs Trade thoughts?

It does seem like a good idea to let them simmer for a year, it should allow us more leeway along with hammering in the knowledge that they are not top dog anymore. We also need to lockdown Libertalia so other do not jump on our investment.

Im curious on the whole setting up the airships, it be great to be able to move the whole army via air lift. Also includes cannons.
