...I get the feeling pegciclesis expecting either of the top two options, and not expecting a full on assault, considering we *Should* have taken far more losses from that Ursa. Of course a full on assault would still be a bloody affair especially since there is no reason to not fortify it to hell and back just incase...

Could we do manipulate the weather enough to force the city to the ground? Or just get the weather bad enough that they lose enough morale to surrender or sally out?

@Questor

Three questions.

1, Is the Ursa Blood available as a resource for Merlin to make use of? If so, what would he broadly be able to do with it, how would it benefit his magic?

2, If we create a significantly sized pocket of cold below Mare-A-Thon, will that alter the pressure systems enough to lower the city into cannon range, or have the potential to do so?

3, rather than Burning down the Countryside, if we go for the Dig In option would we be able to send out troops to make contact with the countryside and ask for a peaceful surrender? A bit of increased risk of harm, but the optics look much better.

So Prancious is trapped in a heavily fortified, isolated fortress. if it wasn't flying I would say we pull an Alesia, build a wall around the fort and just nibble at them… unless some of the Pegasi in our ranks can build some cloud forts surrounding mare-a-thon.

Yea thats what I mean. Use the remaining blood as a reagent for powerful magic on that scale. After all Ursa's are associated with space so it might work.
we don't KNOW if the blood is magical. or useful.

For all we know it's just a poison, or waste.

I HOPE it's useful, in which case I expect our mages to point it out and start gathering it by the barrel, but we haven't been told anything about it yet.

@Questor could you confirm if the Ursa blood has any value and it's worth gathering, and if so what it can be used for?

20 denominations of local currency that someone in our army drank a gallon of Ursa Major blood already on a bet.

I don't think anyone would bet against this.

maybe, JUST MAYBE, the imperial soldiers held back through discipline (though I don't expect it to)

But at the very least there's certainly an abolitionist soldier who tried it.

And in any case, there's probably a few soldiers who accidentally drank some while spilling it from the Ursa anyway

I specifically meant an Imperial actually.

The Maretonians and Abolitionists are all herbivorous equines and such so have a natural aversion to consuming blood.

Meanwhile our army has the more carnivorous gryphons and dogs and such.
Though that probably just makes it more likely one of them bet an equine to do it.

Just saying that consuming unprepared blood will poison you like crazy - to say nothing of the likely type incompatibilities in case someone got an open wound.
