[X] Roar of the Lion: This is what the Knights were created to do, what they are trained and equipped to do. You're a merchant, an administrator, a ruler, but you're not a warrior, and you're certainly not as great a warrior as Brochard. Leave the task in the capable talons of Hardbeak and his Lions. You're not going to risk your life over some petty grudge.

So it looks like the battles coming to a close. i'm excited to how things will look after we unified.
First we must win the battle and honestly im kinda terrified of the dice in the next turn considering I highly doubt we will have that many omakes again to save us. Im hoping i get proved wrong by the wonderful omake writers we have here though.

Are you trying to make our son a fatherless chick, and our wife a widow. The Kingdom just got us as a King who does right by them and you want to throw it all away. We are the Merchant King not the Warrior King. We win by surviving and improving everything we can not by rushing in to fight a martial badass with a warhammer. Especially since we have a sword and the warhammer is designed to defeat even heavy plate.

If you didn't start off with the guilt tripping you would've had me. But I stopped caring any subject that starts with a guilt trip about 5 years ago.

Were they? If they were tame then why the cages? Or the fact these trolls stepped and crushed the Aquileian Griffins?

They might have been conditioned into fighting like living battering rams. The image of Lord of the Ring Armor doesn't help either.
Well tame ish they could have easily turned on his forces also this part is why I used the word tame.
You don't know how Brochard managed to find and cage so many trolls. You don't know how he managed to forge them armor. You don't know how he managed to train them to attack your forces while ignoring his own. All you know is that he did, and now they're killing your troops. For every second they rampage, dozens of your soldiers are killed.

Wow, I'm fairly certain that would make the Geneva Convention have to be updated.

Brochard can sign first. He just has to get the live troll blood himself for a signature without armor or a sword, then I'd be happy to sign it.

No, not from a dying or limbless or friendly troll, but a wild and lively one. And no using servants either.

Till then, it is 50 for a seasonal pass, Brochard. If you can afford a no-CB war that draws in a rival power, you can afford this.

Fair fights are for poor men who can't afford highly armored and well maintained knightly orders.

50 is way not enough, we gotta go all out here. $293.17 for the Imperial collection.

yeeeaaahhh, no. We are a merchant king here. We know it, our wife knows it, our subjects know it, Brochard and pretty much everyone in Griffonia knows it. Trying to fight the Warrior king in a death match is suicide. Better to leave this matter to more capable talons, like Hardbeak and his Lions.

Besides, THIS is their time to shine. Their Knightly order has just gotten a major revival since the time of Discord, with a brand-spanking new Citidel and scores of new recruits to swell their numbers. Now they got themselves a war where in they are perfectly justified to kick ass and take names.

For most of the battle, we have been keeping Hardbeak and his Lions in reserve as the battle rages on. Keeping them as our trump card and rapid response force in case anything happens in the battlefield. Hardbeak most probably knows this and approves but he and his fellow knights and squires are probably still itching to go on and join the fray and win some glory and remind everyone why He and his fellows are a badass knightly order in the first place. Thankfully, King Garrick's wisdom to keep them in reserve was vindicated and the Knightly order's patience are rewarded because here comes the rival warrior king Brochard himself and his personal guards coming into the battlefield. The knightly order is fresh and ready to go and they got the best possible opponent they can get to prove their badass credentials.

Best to leave them to it. They don't need us and our poor martial stat to drag them down. We would only hinder them in this fight.

[X] Precision Targeting: Well...you still have the Ballistae. And they are pretty accurate. But are they accurate enough to snipe a King in the middle of a crowded, shifting battlefield surrounded by hostile and friendly forces? Only one way to find out.

Hey, guys. I love saying I told you so.... so... I told you so. We should have gotten the flamethrowers.

[X] Duel of Kings: You've been largely separated from the fighting up till now. You haven't even bloodied your sword yet! What's the point of all this armor if you're not going to put yourself into harms way? Do you really want to be known as the King that stood by and let others fight for him? Are you going to just stand here as Brochard slaughters your subjects? Go engage your rival in single combat and settle this feud once and for all.

This is less a question of Victory, but one of Legacy. This is the moment that decides how we are seen as a King. Are we the meek merchant, hiding behind expensive trappings while the warriors we pay bleed for us, hiding behind the true blooded warriors of our wife and her family? Or are we the Griffin King, wielding our serfs wisely and striking down the would be Usurper with our own blade? Regardless of the risk to ourselves, this will decide how the Wingbardians and Featherosians perceive us going forward. How our wife and father-in-law view our actions. How our son will respect our actions.

We're very well established as a Wise ruler. Let's prove that we're a Strong one

Just thought of some griffon sayings.
------------------------------------------------------------
Commons sayings from the common griffs.
By Prof. Lucky Greens, Canterlot university

This book is incomplete. Due to Professor greens disappering during an Expedition in zebrica

"May the wind guide you to good fortune"
One of the more common sayings among griffons. It usually means exactly what it says.
....Lucky there's more to it than that. Did you do any actual reaserch beyond some random phrases?-Faithful oats.

"No better fortress than a mountain"
This phrase dates back to the pre-discord era, in which griffons using their ability to fly and slight preference for mountains have used mountains to blunt several invasions, and during one famous incident, a dragon attack. During which the Knights Lion managed to kill a dragon by flying to the peak of a mountain(said mountain is in dispute and the result of decades of debate) and cut off one of its wing's, thus making it plummet to death. though why they broutgt it to the top of a mountain is beyond me. why not fly at sufficient hei Lucky i'm removing the lined through parts because it sure as oats would not do your book any favors siding one way or another in that debate, Your friend and editor Faithful oats.

Gryphus peak is the center of the world

WHAT A PRETENSOUS LOAD OF POPPYCOCK! OBVIOUSLY CANTERLOT IS THE CENTER OF THE WORLD! GIVEN THAT OUR MOCARCHS RAISE THE SUN AND MOON! Lucky, no. You cant put that in- Faithful oats

"who needs magic when you have a good musket?"
This one I can actually trace it's origins to. It came into being because of a duel, between a unicorn noble of middling talent, one Maxes lunamoon and one Gulf greiffenhecks. During this duel maxes fierd several magical blast's, which Gulf expertly* dodged and weaved around. and when maxes stoped to catch his breath, gulf shot him.*
*keep in mind this is all myth and rumor
*Lucky, I had to rewrite this whole one because all you kept writing was nothing but rants. If you cant not insult just about every griffon out there then you should probably find something else to write about. -Faithful oats.

"None have ever reached the peak of Gryphus"
This one has its origins in the fact that in the entire history of the griffon race as we know it, nobody has ever managed to conquer the capital of the empire Gryphus peak. and the only one who has come close, was the legendary diamond dog, Clifford the mighty. Who made it to the base of the capital/mouantian and was promptly crushed by a rockslide. what a bunch of savages, all they would have needed to do was talk it out and Lucky, I don't think your the right pony to write this book-Faithful oats.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thats all I got so far, might do a part 2 at some point.

Edit: changed 'killed by cave trolls' to 'disappering during an Expedition in zebrica' i also added another one
Edit: if your wondering why this is so short its because i got a sudden burst of inspiration and wrote it without actually having much of an idea of what i was going to write.
Edit: added a bit more to the first phrase and a fourth phrase

Our legacy is building a prosperous kingdom for all of our people. It is establishing new forms of farming and mining. It is making peace with the Diamond Dogs and ending their raids. It is making a Navy that is uncontested and weapons and gunpowder. It is finding the dragon egg and hatching it then raising said dragon as a child. That is our legacy and it is far better than the other warrior king's legacy.
