Well i loved that update and our little earth pony is absolutely right, we can be your greatest friends and stand by you through thick and thin or we can become your worst nightmare should you threaten our people. Also looking at the map and that distinct middle area that is not filled in i would wager that is where the Zebra are. And i almost want a war to happen to Equestria some time later so that they can call upon us and see the true might and heart of the Gryphins.

You know the stuff about us starting to grasp magic and Equestria's monopoly on it being temporary made me think that it's kind of inevitable that Hippogriffs will eventually become a pretty significant percentage of our population, possibly even the largest racial group one day, because afaik they're the only known result of interbreeding and there's at least four possible combinations that result in one, Griffon + Pony, Hippogriff + Hippogriff, Griffon + Hippogriff and Pony + Hippogriff

presumably there's will be chances of ponies and griffons being born from hippogriffs too, especially if only one of the parents is an hippogriff.

Generally speaking we can expect that long term we'll be tech assisted by magic, while Equestria will likely be magic assisted by tech.

There's things one can do that the other can't do as easily. Teleportation and weather control are obviously MUCH Easier with magic, for example, while there's things tech is better at, generally in regard to mass-production and infrastructure: roads, rails...

and then there's those things where they just synergize very well, with the combination working MUCH better than the two by themselves. Airships, for example, but I imagine combining earth-pony magic with modern agricultural practices (and controlled weather) would also give compounding benefits

now I'm imagining that at some point someone tries to mix magic with technology and ends up creating steampunk golems that then rebel for whatever and kicks off final fantasy Equestria. Starts off with the heroes having to fight the golems, then learns that the project was sabotaged by magic users who they then go after only to find out they're part of a chaos cult hellbent on freeing discord with the final boss being discord himself... Because it's a JTPG and those always end with you fighting some kind of god.

In light of the highlights about culture difference with Equestria I wonder how this might impact their response to the Changeling situation once they know about it.

I don't think they will have a problem with our end goal. We want to end a mass conspiracy to control a nation of ponies on their border with ideally little bloodshed as possible. We don't even really want to punish the changelings and will be very happy to have them as peacefully integrated citizens of the Empire and even are already working with one.

However, they might hesitant to resolve the situation by force without at least attempting diplomacy first which is difficult since we don't want to give up strategic surprise with the changelings. Maybe we can offer them terms once we are ready to go move if they say no but even that is hard. It should be a lot easier to get them to cooperate once we point out just how bad things will get if the Changelings find out people know while still in control and start a war or the secret gets out without outside powers intervening, not only is the main pillar of your society revealed to be a lie but the people to blame could be anyone you know? Recipe for mass hysteria and total chaos if I ever heard it. Plus they are the most likely culprits in the death of one monarch already even if the evidence is circumstantial. But cooperation might still require compromise in a tough situation.

On top of that it might just make their fears about our military even worse. Sure it is for the best that we found out about this before it lead to any problems but why were they looking into the people who they claim to be friendly with in the first place? Are they looking at us as well? And worst of all the instability going is threaten the state between them and us! If Canterbury collapses then suddenly that super powerful military you are already afraid of is now on your border as well. It is hard to say what will become of Canterbury given how chaotic the situation could get but either of us taking that territory might be a terrifying prospect.

Its a anti magic missile warhead.
Then, resource waste. The anti-magic resource is scarce. Being able to reuse the resource is important.

With a scarce resource, how much anti-magic ammunition can we make and recycle? Not everything. I think it would be cheaper to keep melee groups in circulation instead of let them go obsolete.
