...How is Crystal Agriculture "already paid" though? It's a new action and therefore not paid yet? (Unless I've misread something in the new chapter turn?)

You are right...I somehow fucked up notifications there

It should be like this:

[x] Plan "That´s what Heroes do" But with Scholars

- [x] Appeal to the Praetorians (Cost - 500)
- [x] International Relief Effort (Cost - 1200)
- [x] Aggressive Agricultural Expansion (Cost - 1000 ALREADY PAID!)
- [x] Crystal Agriculture (Cost - 800)

] Crystal Agriculture: Cost: 800. Time: Two Years. Reward: Crystal Protectorate gains a substantial agricultural base and is no longer dependent upon food imports from the Griffonlands. Increased Agricultural Income.

You know, last turn I was voting for this Agriculture option to help weather the strain Maretonian refugees will put on our economy, but I was overruled in favor for the centralised option for very nebolous reasons by more short-sighted people. Let´s make things better this time, yes?

Come on, don't be all passive aggressive. It didn't make that much of a difference, and in the end it was mostly a matter of which would be done first.
] Trust but Verify: Cost: 400. Time: One Year. Reward: Intel on Canterbury and its people. Chance of Success: 60%.

We nee that one thanks to what we know/suspect regarding Mareias murder, guys.

..you know, I'm starting to wonder... What would we even do if we discovered it was her?

It was possibly a shortsighted move, but I don't think many of us exactly disapprove, or at least not enough to really act upon it.
[ ] The Frame-Up Job: Cost: 600. Time: One Year. Reward: Pegicles framed for Queen Mareia's murder. Chance of Success: 35%

NO

Seriously, guys: that one is a bad idea if I ever saw one. Not only is its success chance about as bad as the one for "Cold Case" (which even after accounting for stats boni and cramming the maximum of omakes into it almost failed, you know?), but the fallout would be disastrous if it failed - to say nothing of the sheer immorality of us using knowledge that might have been fabricated anyway to get rid of some opposition (as loathsome as Pegicles undoubtably is, admittedly), but then again some voters have shown a rather amoral interpretation of statesmanship, so I am not surprised that it´s even on the table right now.

I agree that it's not worth the risk with those odds, but I disagree with the immorality of the action. It's a pretty convenient way of dealing with an enemy while minimizing civilian casualties by turning every faction against him.

I doubt the people he killed and those he left homeless would care about it at least.
[ ] Imperial Priority:

To be honest, I never got the benefit of that option, so I tend to ignore it.
It's basically a second year of action on top of the first one. Two years of results (and two years of cost) in one year.

Come on, don't be all passive aggressive. It didn't make that much of a difference, and in the end it was mostly a matter of which would be done first.

It´s starting to make a differeence right now, because doing the Crystal option first would have meant, that it´d be half-done at this moment where the the refugee crisis everyone knew about already is starting to really pick up steam (admittedly, nobody could have guessed before that Pegicles would find a way to break the stalemate in such a drastic fashion, but the point still stands that any Maretonians fleeing the warzone their nation has become would hit the Protectorate first and therefore its infrastructure/economy would have to be strenghtened.

..you know, I'm starting to wonder... What would we even do if we discovered it was her?

It was possibly a shortsighted move, but I don't think many of us exactly disapprove, or at least not enough to really act upon it.

That honestly depends on WHY she did it.

I agree that it's not worth the risk with those odds, but I disagree with the immorality of the action. It's a pretty convenient way of dealing with an enemy while minimizing civilian casualties by turning every faction against him.

I doubt the people he killed and those he left homeless would care about it at least.

The problem here is that if he wasn´t the one responsible (which is stastistically speaking very likely), someone else did it and by framing him for it, we are playing right into Xs hands by destabilising things even more for some short-sighted gains.

It's basically a second year of action on top of the first one. Two years of results (and two years of cost) in one year.

So basically an overclocking of other options? Dunno what to think about that.

@Questor

Shouldnt these count as omakes?

Against the Dragon King

Hardbeak and the Dragon King had traded blows for several hours prior, hardbeak's blows having no effect on the mighty scales of the dragon even as the dragon's breath had burnt and melted much of his black steel armor.

As hardbeak stood there, ash in the air drifting around him the dragon laughs.

"Give it up bird, you cannot harm me and it is only a matter of time before your armor fails you or you slow down and die. Surrender now and I shall make your death a quick one." The dragon says to which hardbeak grins.

"My blows have no effect?" He says with a chuckle "Who decided that?" He asks before he flashes forward with incredible speed outpacing his previous speed several times over leaving a massive gash on the dragon's skin as the scales in the area shatter.

"It seems I am getting old, a few years ago that would have cut you in two." He says with a small bow "I apologize for my weakness in ending you cleanly." The dragon is reeling in shock.

"HOW?!! HOW CAN YOU PENETRATE MY SCALES!!" He screams in shock and terror. "With great ease now that they have been weakened." Hardbeak says as his muscles bulge and an aura reminiscent of an unsheethed blade fills the air making the dragon roar in fear and deviance "NO, I AM FAFNIR THE DRAGON KING, HE OF THE INVINCIBLE SCALES!!" He roars as he stands tall even as his eyes scan for a way to escape "I CAN NOT BE DEFEATED!!" He roars before hardbeak vanishes from sight and with a click of his blade returning to his sheath the dragon feels a sharp pain on his neck. "Im...Poss...ib...le" he manages to get out as the head slides down and the last thing the Dragon King, who ruled through Greed and Brute Force saw was a knight in black armor looking down upon him with dissapointment.

Just a random thing that popped into my head
I think he would stagnate in power level due to him continuelly compensating for his weakening body with greater and greater skill.

That gives me a rather epic idea.

In his final battle, the ancient griffon has a spell cast on him that will return him to his peak of youth for a full minute before causing him to die.

In that one minute with the strength of his youth and the skill he had hones to maintain his combat prowess even into his twilight years... He slaughtered the whole army singlehandedly. As he stood atop the mountain of corpses he looked to the sky and grinned. His last words being "My duty is complete, my final battle is won. It is time for the greatest journey of them all. Goodbye Gryphonia, may you endure for millennia more." Before his body turns to dust and is scattered to the winds just as the sun sets.

The day is declared one of mourning the passage of one of the greatest heroes of the Empire and a memorial is erected at the site of the battle with his final words inscribed upon it with his likeness cast in bronze (Bronze is the longest surviving metal and can endure weather conditions for a ridiculous amount of time compared to stone).

"Here this monument stands as both a memorial and a symbol to the Greatest Knight the Empire has ever known. On these fields Hardbeak fought a full 100,000 enemies of the empire and not only stopped their advanced but slayed them that they may never threaten the empire again. It is here he sacrificed his life through the usage of a powerful ritual to restore him to his prime at the cost of his life and is here he was scattered to the winds. We shall never forget his heroism nor his sacrifice."

The statue being him standing tall with his house words inscribed upon the sigil on his chest plate. "Duty, Honor, Virtue"

A very slight difference though. After all we're not facing a famine yet, or facing any kind of mechanical malus yet. And once this turn is over we'll be in the clear, with even more slack in a couple of turns once the crystal agriculture is complete too.

So basically an overclocking of other options? Dunno what to think about that.
Basically an overtime for multi-years actions.

As I thought, my idea are being left in the dust completly again...Not really surprised
Please don't.

Sorry for that guys...I just tend to take "sestbacks" rather personal/bad.

Anyone is of course free to vote either way (especially since I don´t really have anything against the other vote itself), but I simply want to feel as if I am contributing something valuable.

I feel you. I don't like how I feel when I think people are ignoring my attempts to contribute either. I'm not really sure why everyone seems to be getting mad at you, but try and just ask people why they aren't voting for you next time, maybe? Sorry, I'm bad at this.

Yeah, I should have done that, but I never seem to be able to plead my case, so at times I just give up on even trying.

If I may what I've seen from you when you try to plead your case is you atleast in my opinion do come off as kinda condescending and almost making it sound like people are not intelligent for not picking your plan or a kinda of woe is me type of tone. I'm sure that's not what you intended to convene to others but it's what I get from it at times. For example your last one was a very woe is me kinda feeling.

I'd go with crossbows over grenades for now, but think talking to the scholars would be better then setting up magic education as the scholars could be useful in setting up our own education system.

It´s not really me thinking "others are stupid for disagreeing with me", but instead "others disagree because they think I am stupid"...which isn´t really all that better either, admittedly.
