I'm curious to see what Questor does give us for options when we do die since it will have to be something big and there will be at least a year of mourning. If not more.
A year of mourning at the very least. A monarch death has a big impact on society. Been too long to remember clearly but the death of a family member of the British Royal Family caused some big economic turmoil. Heck if the Queen dies, I heard it would be the most disruptive event that Britain would have experience for a long time.

I'd rather have the tomb ready before we die that way we can be entombed (possibly in crystal) before we start to rot.
I imagine it will be something that Questor will give us eventually especially now that we've been talking about it. And we are getting up there in age now. Though we are only 49 so barring any unforeseen event we got a good 30 years at minimum I would hope.

Right we better get our son ready to rule the Empire once we deal with the Slavers to the south and perhaps we should start making our Will.

Especially for the Diamond Dogs and the Crystal Ponies.
Not so much for the dogs I feel as the Griffons and Crystal Ponies. They will mourn certainly, and they will grieve. But their loyalty is to the Tribe and Pack. They will survive and continue for the whole.
...

Is it considered an Upgrade if you never had it to begin with?🤔
i mean.... magic counts?
Probably a good idea.
Agreed. I'm thinking consul ship of the army durning the war when it comes, plus ruling one of the provinces or a major hand on the council eventually

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Let's Upgrade our Empire's Healthcare so FUCKING MUCH that Garrick&Co live to a Century Or Longer! X3
Technically we already have.

He asked the "Average lifespan of rulers in medieval times". That was usually around 60.

I give us 65-75 with the healthcare reforms. With the identification of diseases and their causes it will make death by disease much less likely.

The main issue we have to worry about is wounds getting infected (even small cuts can kill if an infection set in in those days), internal injuries, toxic "cures", and normal items being actually very deadly (an example is make up in medieval times was very toxic along with asbestos usage being another big one).

Those were the other main causes of death aside from flat out disease.

Personally i am expecting us to die to an infected wound or an internal injury finally killing us (they lacked a way to diagnose some internal injuries that kill slowly or only become dangerous with tine).

There are many points where we can get a cut that gets infected (training, playing with our kids, on pur mountain of paperwork, etc) and with the number of battles we have been in an internal injury of some form is very plausible.

Well, in that scenario I would imagine it would be more like "Hey you guys should worship me, but if you don't, I'm not going to kill you, add a nonbeliever tax or give you any other legal punishment for not doing so (except in the afterlife)."

Also there were the Pharaohs who were considered gods incarnate. I also feel that would be the closest to our Imperial-family cult, considering that Garrick will die eventually and everyone after him who gains the title will probably be considered the next god-emperor (probably as long as they have a traceable Gold-Feather line and they don't gain the title because they ran out of Golden-Feathers to put on the throne).

and there is no chance that the descendant will not abuse their god-like status for the sake of power
the entire concept of ''normal being with absolute power'' is asking for problems ,maybe not now but eventually

Dude, we are already in that situation as the HIGHEST AND ABSOLUTE AUTHORITY IN THE EMPIRE.

Kind of to late to avoid that.

The Emperor may not be a true god. But he does have a dysfunctional hivemind of voices in his head that give him great foresight and dictate his every major action in life. If not anything else he could be the God of RNG Luck.

I'm joking of course

Fool. You have no idea what you have unleashed on the earth.
You're right. Considering the amount of technological progress we did in little over two decades. We have done more than a century worth of innovation due to the glory that is hindsight. I can only shudder to imagine how much we'll continue to grow in a century. Let alone to modern MLP Times.

For in the grim, distant future.

Harmony is still overrated.

Is anyone worried on what would happen once our Golden Age ends?
Of course, as per the rules of any civilization. Everything must eventually decline or fall from from grace. When we include RNG than it's only a matter of time we get a streak of bad rolls.

Speaking of RNG

A joke idea I had for a shrine of the 'God of Luck' is that we take the entombed in crystal idea and surround him with statues of dice that holds special magic. That if a devout follower comes to his shrine and tell a good story, doesn't matter if it's real or not. If his spirit enjoy the story told, he'll grant his follower a special 'boon' with the dice to increase the chance of any decision they may make to yield good results.

By that point I fully expect that we will be a super high tech society and either rule the world or have left to colonize other worlds.

Oh I am. My main worry is that, eventually, someone from our line will be stupid, crazy, or incompetent and ruin much of our progress.

If we do a time skip we should at least roll for events that occur during it so as to avoid it just suddenly going to hell in a handbasket without player intervention and there will at least be an understandable "RNG screwed you over" reason for it if it happens.

Also depending on events there may be an event over a timeskip that prevents many innovations from going through.

Either way I think we have established griffons to be the Scientific and Technological masters of the known world for the next few centuries at least if only due to the legacy we (and Archimedes) left behind. After all he has shaped up to be the Starswirl of Technology

Eh, seems a bit to OP to be let through. Maybe add some limitations and rules so it doesn't unbalance the game.

Also from our achievements I doubt we will be remembered for being "Lucky" so much as being a just and fair ruler with compassion for all races.

Hardbeak is probably going to be remembered for his incredible Honor and combat prowess.

Personally I am hoping the Binding Event (AKA when starswirl bound the pony of shadows) happens in hardbeak's lifetime so he can represent a OC element. Specifically Duty. This if it happens would be refined by the tree of harmony into probably something along the lines of Honor or Chivalry.

Archimedes could easily represent Logic or Intelligence which could be refined into, respectively, Knowledge and Wisdom.

Those are just some ideas that have been bouncing around in my head for a while and I am really hoping we make contact with Equestria at some point before the binding (which in turn was about a hundred years before nightmare moon).

EDIT: Also, if I remember correctly, the binding took place a decent number of years after the petrification of discord (Starswirl was a grown adult during the petrification with a black beard that was a bit shorter and when he bound the pony of shadows he was getting on in years with a light grey beard that was noticeably longer and more wrinkles.)

Of course, given the joke idea entirely relies on the hive mind being an actual force. Funny enough you're correct that it's somewhat OP as I now realize it reflects how In the early months of this quest (Or a different quest actually) the effect of omakes was so profound and abundant that they had to be nerf a bit. Because people can just make a lot of them to get many boosts.

And huh, I've never knew that about Starswirl. I always did wonder about the chronology during that time period but I stopped watching MLP a long while ago. Anyhow I'm on the same boat of wanting to meet Equestria as well.

I would have to disagree there I say the place for the burial should be griffinstone i think that's the name. The center of the empire where we formed the new empire and where the old was formed. Or maybe next to the memorial burial where all the dead are remember. Which I think is also at the center town.
I considered that, but I decided that it isn't good enough. We really haven't been putting any symbolic importance in to Griffonstone at all - which I even pointed out when I arrived in this thread when asking about why there was never an available decision to start a project for rebuilding and resettling Griffonstone (before the memorial revived it naturally). That, plus the fact that this empire is different in both creed and technically in dynasty by way of how house lines work, makes me desire to start fresh from the chains of the past. We are a different Gryphonian Empire. A new empire for a new age.
I would rather do one major royal catacomb or necropolis. It would not only make for an incredible landmark and symbol for the people it would also create a centralized area for those who wish to pay their respects to the rulers of the past.
I wasn't saying not to do one royal catacomb. I was saying IF we don't have a Royal Catacombs. Look back at my post.
Is anyone worried on what would happen once our Golden Age ends?
To be honest, no. Struggle and decline make for very interesting settings to read about. For me, I prefer them over rising empires - especially when you consider that quests typically have relentless rise.

Any timeskip should probably be handled in the same way Paths of Civilization handled it's lightning rounds that went from the Early Iron Age to the year 1800.
