In regards to the Empire naming conventions of the Crystal ponies, with the number of bodies sent our way I feel like the one lone city-state would be at odds with the numbers fielded. Could be that when the Dark King took over, there was at first a flourishing Empire of the crystal ponies that had many cities within it, the equivalent of Atlantis only for the snowy places, but then Sombra basically took over and had all other locations abandoned as he only needed certain supplies and more soldiers to continue to conquer. Could also be that the reason we never saw the rest of the empire in the intrigue actions is simply that the griffons flew/walked over the places. By the time they got there, the other cities were buried under the Wendigo influence.

Meanwhile, in some tavern somewhere....

"Thats a stupid idea and would never work."

"But what if.... Like.... We jush flew reaaaaally high?"

"The clouds would get in the way. You just cant see all of the dark kings territory like that."

"Nooo... But like, really, really, really high...? Like on the moooooon."

".... You know what? If you can fly to the moon, go for it buddy. Im sure you can map out the whole world from up there."

"Okay, okay, I gesh itsh... But... What if you put me in one of them... Cannonsh and shot me to the mooooon?"

"... Youre an idiot."

"Nooo, im a gryphooon."

Cough cough

Name: Garrick Golden-Feather

Age: 40

Titles: Emperor of Gryphus, King of Griffonia, Inheritor of the Imperial House of Gryphus, The Unifier, Great Winged Alpha

Description: Before your wife got her talons on you, you were a fairly typical example of the Griffon species. An unmistakably masculine build, a strong, prominent beak, feathers and fur that seem to be perpetually well-groomed, and a pair of piercing amber eyes hiding a fierce intelligence. Not anymore though. Oh, you still have all those qualities, they're just overshadowed by the massive amount of muscle you've put on since you started your wife's "enhanced training regimen". Your wings can lift dumbbells, and your legs are like tree-trunks supporting a barrel chest rippling with abdominal muscles. In short, you have the build of a person who has been lifting heavy objects his entire life.

Knightly Orders (Self Maintained): In the old Empire, Knightly Orders were typically made up of Griffons of noble birth who joined a fraternal militant organization dedicated to martial excellence, honor, and a number of various edicts of moral strength. These great warriors dedicated themselves to the Emperor and the protection of the common Gryph. Tragically, few of these brave souls survived the reign of Discord. Persons of Interest

???: A friendly and strangely casual Griffon female you met at your inaugural ball. Despite having a wonderful evening chatting with her, you never got her name.

Garibaldi Talonuelli: Formerly the Duke of Wingbardy, now the Archduke of Wingbardy, Talonuelli is a beloved public figure in his home province and an experienced administrator. After saving his city and people from Brochard's attempted invasion and negotiating his province's vassalage over a few drinks, you'd like to think you can count him among your friends.

Federico Montefeathertro: Duke of the (former) City-State of Urbirdo, and your Father-in Law. He might just be the friendliest of the former Feathersians, having agreed to back you and your kingdom without question or condition during the Brochard Crisis, and hiring a mercenary outfit as a belated wedding gift. You're reasonably certain he likes you, as much as In-Laws can like each other anyway.

You know, I've been thinking about the geography, and we being a flipped version of Europe makes even more sense now with the Yaks playing as Cossacks, which means, oh, well, I now know the theme of our eastern neighbors.

You know, I really feel like we need to restructure our army. I mentioned it in another post but now it feels prudent with what we're facing. The knight orders are great, but we really need to get around to making units specialized, such as artillery, communicatioms/logistics, specialized weaponry and warfare (flamethrowers seems to be it so far), a restructure of air, land, and sea based command, small, hyper competent, tactical units, field medics/battlefield aid, things like that.

Who do we know that are high and mighty, have a queen, and make terrible food...?
I wonder, do changelings like tea at all?

We are still very far from doing any of that. It will take time and experience before we do anything at the scales needed for such specialized units.

Oh, not all at once, no. For now, I was just hoping to get some of our army decent at using a flamethrower.
They are too expensive and dangerous to equip full units. The two we have cost a ridiculous amount we need to develop them more before we can start producing them in any sufficient number. At best we can probably make two or four more that's about it of what we can maintain.

Well, yeah. The flame thrower option from last turn only gives 4.

Hoping to get a bit more or refine them so theyre not so insanely expensive to operate

no, it didn't it gave us only 2 we got 4 cannons from our speed building.
The optiom gives us +4. Not that we took the option. I was responding to you saying they were too expensive and I was agreeing with you, since the option to make more only gave that many.

Rewording it since it seems my point didnt get across, Hoping to get a bit more [than that after we take that option], or refine them so theyre not as expensive.

[X] Arturia
Oh damn I see another man of culture!

On another note though, Gwyndlyn would be a good candidate for the position of being our countries Keeper of Knowledge and History. With her long lifespan, she could write about how we lived and the things that transpired in the time of the the First Emperor after the Discord Era. She would live on for thousands of years long after we die, and she would be a literal National Treasure with her knowledge of the past. I wonder how the future generations of Griffonia as well as other races in the world react to the unabridged version of the first Golden Feather Emperor, whose feats and achievements would make him a mythological figure breathed in the same tone as the Gods.

Gilda seems to have it. Thank you all for your input!

Alright so next then we should meet our eastern neighbor and make sure we repay the debt.
We should Also do the settlements action.

We already have the Yaks at 7 relationship. How much did the feathersian league have when we annexed them, 8?

They're already considering alternatives to their nomadic lifestyle and we had yak pilgrims visit the monument. If we could make a good impression on their shamans as well, maybe have some of their apprentices come see how our people live and vouch for alliance/joint empire..

Add the info on Sombra we got, the possibility of flying vehicles for them...I think we might start serious talks in a year or two.

EDIT

for diplomacy actions I'm kind of tempted on continuing with the yaks for a year or two more (the merchant caravans into this case).

We should get better ships before contacting the Qilin anyway, and I want to get the Yaks as soon as possible.

Also trade income

Well talk alot more when the turn comes out since i think questor is now going to implement the moritarium but we should get in contact with the eastern neighbors its been to long and the roll has already happened so we know its probably average since nothing has happened.

Yeah, it's just... They're isolationists, and a sea away. We might get a few elite squads of firebenders and some trade income to support us in the war, but they can't teach us their magic and i doubt they'll come full force to help us.

They didn't attack us, and their isolationist nature probably means they'll wait for us to take the initiative, so I don't think we're in a rush, while in the meantime the Yaks are so close to where I want them to be!

On the other hand I admit their knowledge of spirits might come in handy, they might know about both Windigos and Umbrums...

@Questor , we need a second diplo action! (Also intrigue, but especially diplo!)

Or..you said you didn't know what kind of personal actions to give us. Maybe you could let us exchange personal actions for others, or you could have us travel to the Yaks land to talk to their leaders in person.

P.s. about the daggers personal actions, At this point I'd wait until we can have Orichalcum weapons for all members of our families (AND the knights' leaders)

If our relations to the Yaks reach to the point of being best buds forever, then we should give them a small part of the fertile and green land near our borders in order to increase their population growth, and giving them a permanent and less cold area.

No giving our own land away. If you want to help them grow can we just have to help them introduce new farming techniques into their lifestyle. we have crops and stuff that grow that could grow on the steppes. the soil in ground isn't dead it's just they keep moving around and never settle down they don't need our land to grow.
