don't understand why people are so obligated to go into debt just because it has no negatives it is still wrong from a IC perspective to try to go into debt when we don't even need to.
 
I kinda think that going into depth should have some consequences when there is no urgency like interest rates and some favours to the creditors because to make this realistic we shouldn't be able to create money out of thin air, or we will have inflation .
 
Honestly it just seems people are being impatient. They wanted to get everything at once. I can understand that but it goes against the character we have been building. We have played Garrick as a pragmatic ruler who avoids overspending. Even in the beginning some of us at least figured out that it was possible to go into debt we just didn't do it because it was no reason to. Even now there's no reason to because we aren't in any major situation that the only other option is to die if we don't go into it.

It is not wrong, according to the QM the people don't care, so from an IC perspective it would be a completely valid strategy. As a merchant he's probably very familiar with the concept of borrowing to build your business.

Why would there be consequences, countries throughout history have gone into debt to their people, and as long as they pay it back there weren't issues. Stop hating on debt, there is nothing wrong with it.

Debt is not a good thing, just because nothing happens as long as we pay it back doesnt mean we should go into it just because we can.

Actually most of those debts were in the form of promises to pay back the money, there weren't favors traded, and interest on national debt is relatively new.

yes in irl debt can be a good thing but for this game here we have no reason to go into debt just because we can there is no rush no emergence for it and just seems kinda ridiculous we have time now to do things and keep a reserve for any emergence that might happen.

From my perspective I see benefits to starting certain options earlier and no downsides, while the other is just a standard plan, so as far as I'm concerned there's absolutely no reason not to go into dept whatsoever.

I always like to have a reserve of money in case of shit going sideways for one reason or another thats why im advocating for the other plan.
 
Ok, normally I don't like calling the vote when it's so close but I've already left this open longer than I usually do, so Plan Rebuild and Expand seems to have it.

We are in fact extremely secure and safe at the moment. the perfect time to let ourselves grow naturally and not trying to force growth by going into debt.

Also a lot of these voters seem to be people who just recently joined as well. Is another reason why I think we should have the no voting period. But despite many of us asking the QM to do it he's never responded to any of our request for one. if we had the no voting. We have legitimate discussions instead of a bunch of random plans being thrown up and then a bunch of random people coming in voting without thinking.
 
So next turn we should settle the lands, meet our neighbors to the east and upgrade our ships with cannons. And just to get it done and off the list already chop down the forest.

Also a lot of these voters seem to be people who just recently joined as well. Is another reason why I think we should have the no voting period. But despite many of us asking the QM to do it he's never responded to any of our request for one. if we had the no voting. We have legitimate discussions instead of a bunch of random plans being thrown up and then a bunch of random people coming in voting without thinking.
to be honest, due to the answer to the debt question coming in a bit late and given that was an important contributor to many peoples votes, I kind of want a redo of the vote. I doubt it would change anything, and the decisions already made (its the one I wanted, too), but it feels off to just accept it like this. But eh.

In the future though, I too would like to have a period of just planning without voting.

I do wonder if we keep the griffons to this rate of advancement we could maybe have zepplins soon maybe with helium used instead of hydrogen lol
Really make sure we always have air superiority. Hopefully with an expy of an abridged hellsing major but in charge.

but griffons I bet would be great fighter pilots and submarine captains because they are already instinctively prepared for 3D combat

On that note I wonder if we could make a science college to add even more actions or speed up certain longer actions

I think diamond dogs would be better suited for submarines since Griffins don't like enclosed places such as mines so I doubt they will like submarines.
 
Eventually we will develop some form of Zeppelin. And yeah we will definitely be using helium instead of hydrogen. Unlike some other nations we hopefully won't be in embargoed for helium. Though I think most of us are still hoping to get magitek developed. So we can shove it in the face of all the magical races that we can figure it out using pure science.
