Omake: Warm (Canon)
Omake: Warm

Warmth!

For a single, blessed moment warmth floods into your body, driving back the chill that had wormed its way to your very heart. The sudden rush of it, the sudden freedom from that soul killing chill, is almost painful.

In fact, there is no almost about it.
In fact, the warmth is more than a little painful.
You are, in fact, on fire.
It is more than a little agonizing, truth be told.

But oh the joy of being able to warm your bones by the fire, even in spite of the fuel of said fire.
I.E., you.

You appear to have lost a leg. Well, lost might be the wrong word: you're actually a bit spoiled for choice when it comes to the field of severed, charred, limbs to choose from, but none of them are attached to you is the point.
You also appear to be being trampled. A rather unpleasant sensation truth be told.

But oh the warmth. Its all worth it for the warmth.

A pity that Clear Voice wasn't here with you. She could have enjoyed the warmth too.
As your mind fades a final though echos:
Perhaps she's died in the breeding pens. Maybe you'll be able to find each other in the warm place.

@Questor
+10 to a roll.

[x] Write-In: wait until more of the enemies have crossed the avalanche zone (no more than 10.000) before blowing the charges. Send the knight to help deal with them quickly. THEN retreat.
-[x]IF Sombra deploys his abominations immediately blow the charges, trying to bury them in the avalanche. Same if he advances himself.
-[x]IF we exhaust any of our ammunitions (cannonballs, gunpowder, liquid fire, arrows...) or lose more than 20% of our soldiers immediately blow up the pass and proceed like established above.

As much as I hate giving up a good position this is a reasonable compromise to it.

  • [X] Hold Your Ground!: You've slain tens of thousands of the enemy and taken comparatively few losses yourself. You've yet to commit the Knights, and there is still plenty of ammo and fuel left. This is your best chance to halt the enemy, here and now. You won't get a better set of circumstances. Continue to hold.
-[x] Cycle some front line units to the back and bring forward fresh ones. This is a fight of endurance, let them rest if you can.

[X] Pull Back!: Blow the charges, trigger the avalanche, and use the opportunity to retreat. You've done well thus far, but it's only a matter of time until the other feather drops. You've used up your traps, and the sinkhole has been filled in with the bodies of the dead. You'll lose more soldiers if you stay. The nearby city of Lanner has been preparing for a siege for weeks. It's stone walls are strong, and it's storehouses full. You shall make your final stand there.

Recently started reading the comics... and I wonder what happened to Radiant Hope? She's the one that sicked Celestia and Luna onto Sombra... we might get Equestrian support if that still happened.

Alternatively they might arrive with her to bring salvation only to find we've already dealt with Sombra.. and pretty much the entire Crystal Empire.

You want your Omake Bonus to help Sombra?

I'm a monster.

Or, less glibly, it feels almost viscerally wrong to me to apply a bonus from a horror omake to make that horror easier to deal with. Had the same problem with Cold.
It also feels wrong to willfully the screw the rest of the questers over.

Thus, the coinflip, whose outcome I'm going to stick with.

So yeah, Sombra gets a +10.

Applying to the first roll involving the abominations.
On a 1, goes to us.
On a 2, goes to Sombra.

Yeah, NO.

@Questor please ignore the obvious troll, even if it means destroying the omake "bonus".

so we've taken down around 30% of his army. Can't help but wonder if Sombra is impressed or annoyed as I doubt he'll really start getting upset until he's lost around 50 to 60%?
"Not bad. They'll make good slaves"

So if all goes to plan we'll have dealt with 35 to 50% of his army before the siege even starts. And up until now we lost...

Imperial Army of Gryphus
100 Warriors
250 Polearms
50 Diamond Dogs

Mercenaries
The War Wolves
5 Diamond Dogs
The Wood Stalkers
10 Warriors
The Black Pikes
50 Pikes
The Crimson Company
25 Gryphon Berserkers

Auxiliaries/Allies
50 Imperial Militia
20 Yak Chargers

Keep it for the normal turns then. That's fair.

Yeah unless she comes around in a few generations we're not going to have beaten Sombra or the Empire by that time around. Again we have no real way to kill or stop him. all we can do is kill as Iron Man force him to go back to gear up for round two later on.

We can win we just killed a 3rd or so of his army. But he will be back even if we kill this army. Just at a later time once he has built a new army.
