Guys i honestly think if we want a chance we should see if the Orichalcum can help us here we dont know the properties of it and it just might help us against magic should GM be merciful or we can just make better everything at the very least.

I feel like we should just bloackade the mountain passes to the (chaos wastes) crystal empire and just turtle the crap until we find a way to defeat the big bad who I bet was not originally supposed to be.

He has complete control of his people. So yeah he will force them to breed. Also this is the army he has pressed into service. He will still have millions of people back in his territory. We as an example have about 2-3 million people in our Empire. Sombra would have a similar ratio to us because he still needs a support base for his Empire and Army.
Actually, are we sure about that? Because that is the ratio for us to support an armed force this large, he has mass mind control to control every single citizen and even seems be making them different with his magic based on the fact the frost can't affect them.

It's possible that this is a much larger section of the crystal pony population then otherwise militarized because of his abilities. Hell, its possible that he only has 100,000 crystal ponies at all and has impressed every last one fighting since he doesn't need a logistic train.

Hey, you guys chose hard mode remember? In the post-Discord Era, the time where warlords like Sombra are a dime-a-dozen? You thought this would be easy? I told you I was inspired by A Dynasty of Dynamic Alcoholism. If it was easy it wouldn't be worth doing!
Just bear in mind that part of the reason DoDA was so difficult was because the QM didn't judge the effects of dice rolls properly, causing (for example) a single crit fail to undo the benefits of multiple prior crit successes, and similar. I would hope you don't repeat the same mistake.

He still needs to make weapons and armor and even if they don't give care about pain and cold there bodies require food to survive and move and he is not Exactly a necromancer (yet) so it's reasonable to assume he still has plenty at home.

Man would it be funny that if we manage to beat him and he goes and does his lich soul jar thing only to be immediately defeated and sealed by Celestia and Luna, they be claiming the victory for years before first contact with us where we have a detailed run down of how we beat him at his strongest.

Ah yes turns out at his true power he could of bitch slapped the two princess into oblivion but he was weakened by us and they took him out when he was already close to death and claimed victory.

We should go full Dwarf Fortress on him! With Mushroom "Magma" and Heavy Artillery!

Long story short: abominations in the shape of ponies are a Frankenstein assemblage of Crystal ponies, empowered crystals and Raw Umbrum matter, and the eldritch beings pulling his carraige are the "perfected" results of his experiments to create "docile, controllable" Umbrums.
i knew umbrums must have been involved somehow, but damn.

This Sombra is hardcore.

If i remember right comic Sombra was actually redeemed at some point, but i think we can assume this one is beyond it.

I'm curious to see what happened to Radiant Hope in this quest (Sombra's childhood friend/love interest for those who don't know it, with a very rare talent in (if i remember right) healing magic). IF we're very lucky she might come to us with some intel to share to stop him (as she did in comic canon warning Celestia and Luna right after Sombra killed turned princess Amore into crystals and then broke her into many tiny pieces .

As we had a nat 1 she's probably his trusted advisor/second in command. Or the strongest of these frankenstein abominations

he probably has less than that. Crystal Empire was, after all, just one city (if a pretty big one)

they're probably a much larger percentage of his population than our army is, but i doubt they're his ENTIRE population. Even mind controlled slaves should need food. Ponies at home might actually NOT be mindcontrolled. We don't know if he'd be able to control them even while busy in a war, but they'd be so scared of him they'd probably obey whatever order he gave them (especially if, say, Radiant Hope stayed behind to rule in his place)

Makes one think just how great the journal of the first emperor of the gryphons is in terms of historical material. Just going by how itd look so far, its gotta be pretty enjoyable.

Day after day of merchant logs followed by sudden kingship, sudden rise to power, some talk of war, some good happy marrige life feels and then, bam, the invasion of not-sauron

Although, whether that journal ends in our victory, our son running off to neighpon, rising as a warlord, and coming back for his people, or the gryphons listening to the idea of one genius diamond dog and taking the gryphon empire and pushing it somewhere else remains to be seen.

Honestly I'm all for just blowing up the fucking mountains and burying these assholes. It's probably not going to work, but hey, a man can dream.

Oh and before I forget.

[X] All of them

It's a genocide party and everyone's been drafted invited.

Fighting Sombra in the mountain pass may well make the difference between victory and defeat here. In the pass he can't use his numerical superiority, has to directly assault a fortified position defended by Yaks and artillery through a trapped approach. All the while our Gryphons can use their flight to pick off isolated parts of his army at their leisure.

If we pull this ambush off well we should have a good chance of conventional victory.

Remember he can summon FUCKING blizzards and there already is one and this ain't cannon sombra this is OP daemon prince sombra so I imagine flight would be suicide that close to him.

True, your probably right to a degree. Still very probable has a significantly lessened logistical burden though given his ability to raise such a large force.

you know that reminds me... this is going to be off topic but how crap is equestrian history teachings? As in just how bad is history taught in equestria? Because from what I remember from the show everything from where luna was sent to the moon and before seems to have been forgotten by pretty much everyone and while yes it was 1000 years, we (as in actual us not the griffons) still remember things in detail that happened in the BC time period. I mean twilight was the one who figured out luna was coming back and it seemed no one else even remember that Celestia even had a sister, discord seemed to be more of a fairy tale then history, and while they at least remembered that once upon a time the three pony tribes warred with each other, when a entire audience was told this fact they seemed surprise, like they've never heard about it before then. I mean this doesn't really add anything to the "how do we deal with Sombra" problem that's going on right now but I can't help but feel that Celestia started to edit some of the equestrian history books after her sister was banished either because she couldn't stand the reminders of anything reminding her of her sister (such as past deeds where the fought together) or because she was planning ahead and knew her sister would be coming back and didn't want her ponies to still fear and hate her so she erased her from the history books and anything involving her so when she did come back (and was redeemed) she'd come back as a blank slate with no pre-existing prejudices against her.

I think it is because most ponys are peaceful, happy, simple people living in the moment. They are very much like hobbits. There are probably experts and scholars who know these sorts of things, but the average pony doesn't exactly have access to google.
