A Dragon working for us? I'm pretty sure that Dragons only care for there treasures.

Where does it say that we have a food shortage? But I do agree that we need to be self sufficient in case they stop trading with us.
Based on spike and some dragons from the show they seemed logcial enough to be willing to work for us for some kind of deal.

Look, it's clear King Brochard is building up a Navy, and we should investigate the smoky fires. However, I don't feel comfortable with additional expansion, either reclaiming old farmland or beefing up Navy, until we get the rest of our internal affairs in order. That means making sure that the Knights Lions don't die out protecting us, peek into the affairs of Nobility, and personal training with a weapon.

We can stave off certain things by trading with the City-States, and improve the base army with new equipment like weapons and metal armor. This also reminds Brochard that any sea invasion would trigger land attack, and if his Navy is like ours then it would take 2 turns, I.e 2 years minimum to be ready. We should turtle up this turn, and then we use the improvements for the future.

Spike is something of anomaly considering he lived steeped in Equestrian culture, but that doesn't stop the possibility of the use of bribes.

Well if we pay them in treasure just to protect their "territory" from intruders and those liable to be a lot less freindly then us then Im sure they could come around.

It would probably cost far too much to be reasonable at this stage of the game. What are you going to give a being that has an enormous amount of treasure, and that only values treasure? Maybe down the line, when our wallet is fatter and we have a need for a dragon.

Item four:
This is more long term speculation than anything, and may become moot, but if all goes to plan, then we're left with the only thing in between us and Griffonian hegemony being Feathersia. I think that there, divide and conquer would be best. Leverage our influence and split the alliance, promising power to one of the cities to gain their support.
Once we intergrate the other two, Integrating them is easy and likely won't require a war. As long as we offer them good terms and a measure of independence, they will likely join us willingly.

Huh, I must say I never expected a quest like this to pop up. I am very happy it has though, the MLP setting has a lot of potential for good questing to it and it looks like this one's off to a good start. The only thing I'm sad about is that there was no very hard difficulty where you could play as a dragon trying to forcibly uplift your brethren into an actual society. Though with how uniquely ... strange MLP dragons are, I suppose that could've been somewhat of a challenge to run as a game. (Nothing stopping @Questor from putting them in as a rival for us in the future though).

I wasn't really sure how to handle piety actions for this quest. If there's a lot of reader interest I'll try to make religion and spirituality a bigger aspect, but for now we're operating under separation of church and state.
Best way to deal with that as the magically-detached griffons would be having piety actions be centered around dealing with the various magical OCPs that are littered around the Equestrian world. Spirits like Windigos, the various magical creatures and the equally ritualistic countermeasures for them, ways to combat gods and spirits, which I imagine would be on a lot of people's minds in case Discord makes a comeback, etc. Ways to work with and counteract the supernatural, basically.

That's the best suggestion I can think of, anyhow. Only other avenue that would justify a whole other option set would be deliberately engineering and spreading monotheism as a tool to aid our conquests, but that has unfortunate paths it can go down.

I feel like piety would only really be useful to have if theres an actual diety and religion that were dealing with since magic to us is much more like science since we cant just fling it around willy nilly like unicorns can.

Yes it would be good to have piety so that we don't end up worshiping Celestia.

Unless things go really wrong or really weird, you won't wind up worshipping Celestia.
That's good.
Then it's magical theory for me. Even though it won't be useful to us right away it can be looked as long term investment so that one day we can hopefully merge it with tech, or develop anty magic weaponry.

Plan Securing the Shores Wins by a wide Margin. Give me some time to roll dice and write up results.

But that fits learning more then piety.

Though if we did piety we could totally try and become the griffin version of Sigmar.
