We Are the Gods of a New World Order [Warhammer 50K ~ Warp God Simulator]

Oh my. We have Eldar. That's unexpected. I hope the little tykes will get to grow up in peace now. At any rate, we have our heavy infantry, our MEQs have ranged firepower, we have frigging Eldar, albeit little ones, and we we have a big tank. Guess it's go time. Also laughing at the Inquisition. Always fun.

Sap the walls and attack is the name of the game - the only question is how we split our focus between those two objectives.

As a rough draft, we could do something like:

Here We Stand
- Domains: Death, Connection, Endurance, Harvest
- Horatio
- Dana
- Layla
- 3x Manpower

Sapping the Walls
Domain: Connection
- Niamh

Wait, this again? Layla cannot do Infiltration actions at all. This has been gone over and over again. Instead, using the new Hero Unit for that is probably the best bet.
arrgh, my bad I keep assuming the pirate can stealth somewhat. Oops. Niamh seems the better bet then, as I really want Horatio on the assault.

Who could possibly say a mean thing about them?
Well this particular bunch, not too many. Eldar in general are a very different story.
Hey now, they've got to justify the resources they keep getting.
Now I've got to write a scene of a Magos Biologis who is investigating the creations of the Cult grumbling about all the illogical misinformation that the Ordos spews out and how 3/4ers of his report back to the Forgeworld is going to be 'Ordos say A, reality is B'.

So I think I speak for us all when I say that we don't need to spend any resources on Expanding Further.
IF we knew we had time it'd be a very good idea to do that before attacking... But in the worst case scenario the Spess Mehreens arrive at the end of this turn.

So... Waaaaaaaagh! (Sod off Gork and Mork, we are greener than you!)

Two Miracles this turn!
YAY!

Okay, just something that Alectai revealed just now on Discord which I got permission to share. It is interesting for future turn plans, at least in future Chapters.

Namely, that we had 2 other Heroes we could have recruited this Chapter. The Greycliff one just never turned up because the rolls were thoroughly mediocre, but what are you going to do? It's the second one that's interesting. Because we would have gotten them if we'd taking the Spreading to Lambert action, no matter of success or failure. As it is, we still might but they need to have survived the Governor suppressing things in the Capital. So yeah, how Alectai is running things taking actions at all can give rewards, even if you fail to achieve the aim of the action.

So failing High DC actions aren't always the horror story they can be in other quests.

So, this seems like a pretty simple turn. Our only real choice is if we do wall sapping or not (and associated domain removal)

Here's what I think the basic plan for moderately boosted wall sapping is. We could do more (add Horatio) or less (remove the domain), or just not bother trying to sap at all. Still, this seems like the simplest most effective plan. Dana's forced into cult expansion for lack of anything else to do with her time.

[] Plan Basic Sapping
-[] Expanding Further (DC 40+)
--[] Dana
-[] Sapping the Walls (DC 65)
--[] Niamh
--[] Connection
-[] Here we Stand (Requires 2 Manpower, Dana)
--[] 3 Manpower, Dana, Layla, Horatio
--[] Connection, Endurance, Harvest, Weaving

Clarification edit: I'm skipping the Death domain because we both want to minimize death and it was noted to be extreme overkill last time we engaged, and used that for Wall's Connection boost.

This seems right to me.

Connection+Endurance+Harvest really need to be in the assault, since Connection gives Reliability, Harvest gives Lifedrain, and Endurance gives Toughness. We didn't need the Toughness last combat interlude, but we'll be facing heavier weight of fire this time, especially if we don't successfully sap the walls. So the question is Death vs Weaving for the last slot, assuming we want to boost the Sapping action (which I think we do), and I think Weaving is better. Death would give us the Lifebane rule, but our firepower should be more than sufficient against organics; it's mechanized units that might cause us trouble, and Death doesn't help with that. Weaving, on the other hand, provides flexibility: maybe we can use it for battlefield alterations? healing? some other stuff we haven't foreseen? And I think that flexibility is more useful than raw DPS when we're already so strong on the offense.

What part of Layla's everything makes you think she's capable of stealth? She seems to be about as suited for it as Monkey D. Luffy.

Well, Dana has an unused action, so we could do an Expand further action.
Could also plop Dana twice on Here We Stand.

I am not sure it makes a significant difference, but we could have her do it.

Given all the tech we extracted from the flayer ship I think migration is looking more and more like the way to go. Just build a living void ship and fly off into no man's land leaving the Imperium and the inquisition with an empty planet and a mystery.

Is there a post where all our heroes are described?
Because I must admit I am also sometimes unsure which actions can be supported by which heroes.

Considering they recieved a distress beacon claiming a planet-wide Chaos threat I don't think the Imperium will find it much of a mystery.

Checked with Alectai, can't double-commit heroes.

No, you have to go to the individual updates where we got them. Layla is the least flexible of our Heroes: she boosts Charity and Kinetic actions, but can't even be assigned to Preaching or Infiltration ones.

Ah yes the true horror of the 51st millenium.

Bureaucracy

Maybe the report needs to slip in somewhere that the Ordos Malleus inquisitor and Ordos Xenos inquisitor are fighting over whether this is technically a Daemonic or Xenos threat and who is truly in charge. Along with not-to-subtly implying that they each believe that the other is secretly in league with us an is preparing to strike the traitor first.

Well if you're going by the memetic interpretation of the Inquisition. We could end up with a relatively competent crop of Inquisitors that end up calling the big guns to crush us, like say a Deathwatch-Grey Knight combo?

If we do well enough in the battle we could pull off a right proppa (excuse my ork) mystery on the Imperium's hands. The case of the disappearing cult. They'd be so paranoid. Well, more than usual. Or the records could just get lost in administratum paperwork which is equally likely.

Here's a rundown of our Heroes, their levels, and their bonuses:
Dana Magistrix

Special Effect: Sincerity (A widely beloved woman on her homeworld, Dana holds an honest and pure sort of charisma that ensures she puts her best foot forward at all times. Cannot be dedicated to Infiltration Missions, Special Bonus at Preaching and Charity Missions)
Current Blessings: None
Loyalty Rating: Celebrant
Horatio Mills

Special Effect: Valor (A seasoned expert of a dozen campaigns, very little surprises the Marshal--provides a bonus to Kinetic and Infiltration actions, cannot take Preaching actions.)

Current Blessings: None

Loyalty Rating: Dedicate
Layla Current

Special Effect: Prudence (A combination of unsanctioned technical skills and sheer bravado have led this dimunitive captain a master of sailing craft when 'Sailing' can be defined in a distressing number of ways. Provides a bonus to Charity and Kinetic actions, cannot take Infiltration or Preaching actions.)

Current Blessings: None

Loyalty Rating: Dedicate
Niamh

Special Ability: Sagacious (Bonus on Preaching and Infiltration Actions)
Niamh's loyalty isn't listed, but Alectai confirmed on the Discord that she's a Dedicate. The really interesting thing is that she's the most flexible hero we have: she can help with any sort of action, even if she only gives a bonus to Preaching and Infiltration. None of our other heroes can do that.
