On that note, WS 5 (hopefully coming after some more fighting) is a fairly important milestone for us, as it means we only need 4+ to hit even the most skilled opponents.

Probably because that's where they farm their beer ingredients?

Honestly, things are very well handled now. My guess is that the spiders ate the squigs.

There are goblins and skaven to kill, and we have more than enough actions to fill our research with without picking up mysterious goblin mushrooms.

Yeah, we have enough to experiment and work on later. A good point.

I'd take Dawi approval and us furthering the reconquest of this place over some stuff we'd probably never get around to doing with things more viable and important to study and research.

Hmm I would have liked to stay here and played adviser to a young dwarf but needs must I suppose

Why stay here? Why attack? They don't need us here, while they might very well need us down in the Grand Avenue.

How are those mushrooms needs must? They're not our specialty, they're greenskin crap and thus potentially hazardous to our kind anyway so Pan isn't guaranteed to get anything from it, and we have enough we can study anyway.

Why are some people voting twice. This forum doesn't support approval voting does it?

Looks like it's mop-up operation, will take some time but it's contained. Let's check out if it's going ok down there.

Not quite. The dwarfs said:
"Normally what the greenskins grow is just varieties of the greenskin fungus, but they've been growing all sorts of other stuff down here. Some of it are edible ones that were probably growing in the Karak before it fell, but others none of us recognize at all. The Snotlings and Goblins are fighting hard to protect it and have a few redoubts, but we're giving better than we get."

Its regular fungi, some from before the greenskins took over. Legacy dwarf shrooms.

Its apparently some kind of strategic asset for the gobbos. A few samples may be valuable in the hands of Panoramia, considering how big an impact the black lotus had last time

Doesn't know for sure though, and some of it is unrecognizable, so given the pervasiveness of Greenskin fungi I'd rather not risk picking up something of theirs or contaminated by it.

@BoneyM Far as we can tell is Ulthar likely to take offense if we run off to a different part of the battlefield?

Well now... I had assumed the performance-enhancing mushroom thing was merely a silly joke.

It might not amount to anything, but if it goes badly, at least we'll be surrounded by goblins in need of walloping.
[...] but rare shrooms should be good for our Journeyfanling.
The nicknames keep getting better and better!

I suppose one could argue that given its just goblins and snotlings, our presence there might be key to finishing that part and allowing others to reinforce other sections.
