Voted best in category in the Users' Choice awards.
If it has more of a chance of starting a fight or transforming someone into a Chaos Spawn than just standing here doing nothing, it's something that would need to be voted upon.

Well, a certain light magister already offered his body to science, I'm sure he would be happy to help with any experiment we devise.

One thing we could do is see if anyone we're with recognizes the banners out there, just to see if there any that are out of place.

Also seconding going through Boreks stuff like we're the 2018 Steelers raiding a former teammates locker.

If anyone has ideas for things Mathilde could check, test, or ask without venturing from the direct vicinity of the steam-wagons, suggest them now.
Most obviously would be checking what other members have heard Borek mumbling about to crosscheck what we know or don't know. Could also check to see if the Shadow Grave would react to some form of Wind usage, presumably a spell that could be aborted with hopefully little consequence. Another opportunity could be to check how the Light Boi's sense the area where Borek went, since there may be clues beyond the typical visual manifestation.

The really impressive thing is that, from the Council and co's perspective, Mathilde will have come up with that fifteen foot long scroll of conspiracy theories explaining "wut the fuk" in like, five minutes flat.

This is gonna be glorious.

Tbh, I kinda wanna see Hortstmann's take on this too, he's shown himself to be a thoughtful and rational fellow on a number of occasions. I like the cut of his jib!

... does... does anyone think that he might get on well with Cython?
'cuz I think that might be cute.

No magic, no launching projectiles at the Beastmen.
Could we ask the other Wizards, Asarnil, and Deathfang if they can perceive something with their windsight that we can't? Mathilde may have the best windsight in general but someone who's windsight manifests differently like Barbitus with his Visceral windsight may be more sensitive to certain things than Mathilde.

Honestly, barring any sudden revelations or deaths, I fully expect one of Mathilde's thoughts at the end of this will be "Well, Egrimm was fairly agreeable for being a Light Wizard, seemed practical and reasonable. I wouldn't mind working with him again."

Mathilde would hope they'd come forward if they spotted something interesting rather than needing to be sought out and explicitly asked.

Theoretically as a representative of a dwarf king if the dawi of Karak Dum knew she was here they would have to let her in. Or I may be wrong.

I think there is one really damning conclusion we have to accept. Borek loves his family, and if there was a single Dwarf to be rescued from Karak Dum, Borek would have stayed.

He didn't stay. Two hundred years of believing he could help the Karak ended when we crested that hill. Whatever he saw, when he saw the beastmen, told him it would be Mathilda delivering a report to the dwarves of the Old World.

I expect if Mathilde makes a report on him we'll mention the knowledge he's shown. If that isn't knowledge he should have access to then that would be flagged. But yeah he seems perfectly fine from what we've seen of him.

Could we use dwarven semiphore to try to communicate with dwarves maybe hiding somewhere out of sight from a distance? (Please tell me I remember correctly that that is a thing)

Not magic directly but the Light Wizards have these measuring devices from the Windfall, yes? Might show something Mathilde can't see with her naked soul.

How far from the wagons did Borek get before the time dilation thing started?
