The Shaman nods, not at all taken aback by the warning. "May the Gods find your efforts entertaining."

Ranald: "Don't worry, I always do."

I wonder if Mathilde played these guys a bit too hard. We've played heavily into their assumption that we are a Norscan clan, maybe too heavily. They might feel cheated and angered if the assumed Norscans turn out to be Dwarves instead. And angry Chaos Barbarians tend to go on the attack.

Awww, Pan was softlocked in. Thought
we still had a chance for Cython. Seems like bookwyrm lost the battle (unless the thread goes for polyamory, but that is a huge AP sink and a risk with Pan)

Oh well, its a pity, but then's the breaks I guess.
We explicitly asked her out for a date and the date went well.
That means we've been dating for months now.
That's definitely past the point where you actually need to break up if you no longer want to date.

Alright. If attacking great metal monsters and a dragon will make them happy they are free to make that choice.

@BoneyM, would selecting the monogamy option lock us out of polyamory? I am open to another partner but I don't think now is the right time to bring it up with Panoramia. I'd rather the relationship with Pan become more established first.

Moratorium.

Yeah, I get it, I just figured the way last vote went that Cython would have one last chance. Again, as I said, fair is fair, I am not trying to complain to the QM or anything.

Thing is, if we were an unknown they might have left us unchallenged because we are a scary group indeed.

But now they might feel like their honor was slighted by our deception, leaving them no choice but to attack.

I dunno, it feels to me like this Passage agreement might backfire.

Ah, right, i don't always remember to check the time of updates, usually i'm hours late anyway (the amount of responses should have been a clue).

No, if you're going for poly, the time to bring that up is definitely early. Otherwise the unspoken assumption is monogamy and you're building a relationship under false pretences.

By that point they'll be looking at a bunch of armored steam wagons and a dragon which they've just carted a whole boatload of supplies close to and they haven't really rallied the tribes to raid against yet.
They could of course decide to reneg once it turns out that there's actually a sketchy probably Chaos Dwarf involved expedition going on and that they've been misled on its nature.

It'd be a risky decision to make though.
The Ulgu Shaman the expedition is running with might have been shadowing their supply delivery for days without anyone noticing before they ever spotted the steam wagons, you can't really get away from a dragon on the plains and whatever group of warriors the Kurgans brought to protect the supplies and payment probably isn't gonna do well in a straight up fight against something this far out of their expectations.
Rather than turning around and being run down by the expedition that wants their supplies, odds are they're best off delivering what they've promised to, hoping they get paid and when they actually do get paid it's kinda questionable whether they'd want to gather the tribes to mass for an attack against this kinda force they've already granted passage to.
At most I'd expect them demanding some extra compensation for us altering the terms of the deal, but the way we've altered the deal is by being way more heavily armed than they expected, so it's kinda difficult for them to make any additional demands.

800 mouths, 250 of which are dwarfs

Teclis stripped out all the 'without being shaped by them parts' to speed up the learning process, grasping that many humans would think that gradually becoming a living avatar of a single Wind is rad as hell, rather than a tragic failure.
Truly a master of cultural understanding

Who has to say they notice?
Let's look at our troops:

5 dwarven monitors,
250 dwarves,
100 demigryph riders,
?? wolf riders
6 Magisters
? Journeymanlings
1 Dragon
1 Elf

except for the dwarven monitors and dwarves our troops do look a lot like chaos troops.
Let the dwarves stay inside the monitors and if they ask claim the monitors themselves to be bought from the Chaos Dwarves.
Though more likely we'll just let them make the assumption than state it outright.
