If I had to decide who I thought was more competent on diplomatic matters out of the Grey College's hypothetical Dwarf expert and us voters, I'd pick that hypothetical expert every time. Assuming that we, a bunch of randos idling away our time playing games on the internet, match or beat the expertise of in-universe diplomatic hero units, when Mathilde's own diplomacy is completely insufficient to serve as a crutch for us, is the height of arrogance.

This is a very disengaging argument. Mathilde Weber is not 'a bunch of randos on the internet' she is a person who is responsibile for the words she says and the secrets she shares and she cannon unsay them

In the interest of keeping any other dawi diplomats from making a blunder, i feel it might be a valid course to mention the rift, but downplay it massively.

Portray it as minor disagreement that Thorgrim and Belegar would rather not be reminded of each other for the time being.

Instead of the potentially KA shattering issue it could become.

We didn't bring the boy prince a gift?! How uncouth of us. Also I love Matty being a low-key competitive parent.
Nothing low key about that competition there. Though that just might be exactly what the Queen needs.

A rivalry over something might be just the thing to keep her hands from getting TOO ichy.

He cannot do said job if he is dead, eventually that information is going to get out of his hands to people he never met and could not have vetted. I repeat do we trust the Imperial court in perpetuity with this information?
I think that's kind of unrealistic?

The dwarven political situation isn't static. We saw these kinds of things play out in real time.

I also think he can probably keep sensitive stuff on the DL. At least a bit.

There's also a non zero chance he get assassinated or something and the information is simply... lost. Like I assume a lot of information about dwarven diplomacy has been since sigmars time.

ok, for romance, I think these two are the best, because Mathy only knows romance from books, and these are the type of things they do in dates in books.

so it must always be like this? right?

The dwarfs political situation is indeed not static, but it evolves very slowly by human standards. the current high king has bene in power for two hundred years, crowned competently with Magnus the Pious.

I was leaning toward option 3, but I was convinced to go for this one by dint of the simple fact that we've seen way too many examples of secrets being kept that manage to poison relationships because it causes actions to be taken under flawed assumptions. That being said, I would like to tell Belegar about this conversation at first opportunity (private chat after the council meeting?) and come clean about it, so that he knows that the Empire knows. @BoneyM, would something like this be possible?

(Furthermore, the fact that Boney has revealed that the Empire only sends diplomats to KaK shows a blind spot in the Empire's understanding of dwarf politics. Giving more information about that should help the understanding that the Holds are not monolithic, pun 100% intended, and aid Imperial-Dwarf relations.)

Dog park!!! I don't ship this ship, but I understand that one of the big draws for it is "we go on wacky adventures together." What better way to get on the right foot than by bonding over the fruits of one of those wacky adventures? Remember, he got the wolf-rats from our under-Karagril raid.

Since I've seen some good arguments for it, and I think I'd really like to see a scene where they talk about faith.

[X] Though you rarely think of those days, you did grow up on a farm and know something of the soil. Spend time with her as she goes about her work.
If you want someone to feel appreciated, spend time with them admiring them doing the thing they're good at. I don't particularly ship this ship either, but I think that its best shot would come from Mathilde appreciating that Panoramia has grown into a competent wizard in her own right, which means time spent on her turf appreciating her skills. Also, the fact that we have family history with farming means that we might open up about that and share some degree of emotional vulnerability, which is necessary for healthy relationships.

Yes, current plan is to have a vote for that next update.

A couple of questions @BoneyM

I suppose that getting a magic item with Eyes of Truth or Breach the Unknown would cause the same effect that one with Speed of Light (Dhar burning inside o Mathilde's cranium) or it would be possible to put the enchantment in something external that Mathilde can look into to activate the spell (like a mirror, some specs, or a magnifying glass) without boiling her brain?

IIRC you said that the consequences fir Mathilde to use an talisman with Birona's Timewarp would be much worse than using Speed Of Light... How much worse can it be than melting the brain or blowing up the head?

How are things going with our Spider Silk, how long until K8P can start selling it to the rest of the world?

The Empire's experts in Diplomacy, and even the experts in Dwarven Diplomacy, are more capable of deciding what to do with this information than Mathilde is, and I don't consider it a "betrayal" besides. Meanwhile Sharing nothing but what the Dwarves would already tell them would strongly signal to the Empire that our loyalty is to the Dwarves, not them.

The Empire expects that the High King would go through the Emperor rather than deal directly with individual Elector Counts, so they return the courtesy.
I can't really help to feel that it's a bit like expecting... Kislev diplomats to go through the Emperor in order to communicate with the KA.

Let's not push Panormia to expand her house just yet, especially since we've been ignoring her desire for help with Magister exams. I'm pretty sure wizard progression goes Journeyman> Magister > Tower Owner > Lord Magister. So normal date behaviour it is.

I don't even like Johann as a romantic prospect (the relationship seems more like a close friend to me) but this seems like it would be fun.

I would prefer not to share sensitive geopolitical information that is going to be acted upon, implicating the most likely suspect. Even sending so much as a diplomat to K8P would tip them off.

[X] Do not speak of explicit dwarven secrets; and concerning matters that are "just" sensitive, limit your report to the observations that do not require personal confidence of high-positioned dwarven allies to infer.
I think i'm cool either with the base vote or with @vsh 's write in, so approval voting ho!

As for romance...

While i'm not on team Johann, and dogs (ok fine, wolves and wolf rats :p) are inferior to cats, pets are good...on which note, assuming the dinner date with panoramia goes well we must find out if she likes cats and if so then get her one as a gift :p

I was going to go for 'keep it secret, keep it safe', but this is a pretty big thing, and I guess that it would help more than it would hurt.
