[X] The vacuum must be filled. Step forward and take command. Fulfil Van Hal's final legacy in the manner that it begun.

[X] This is a secular matter; turn it over to the Patriarch of the Amethyst Order.

Punishing people is a waste of time. We need to do something with the book and the Amethyst order is a reliable lot.

So, is there any reason not to do this?
Because our opponent is a half made vampire countess whereas using it would be noticed by all the other necromancers, and vampires lurking in the shadow. This is a magical tome potent enough that it would allow the more notable individuals among them to conquer the Empire, or at least require great sacrifice to stop.

Where do you guys think this quest is going to go after this?

I'm not sure I can see weber just moving on to the next count.

It reveals to everyone that we have (at least a copy of, possibly the genuine) the Liber Mortis. Wars have been fought for less. Nations have fallen for less. We cannot protect it, save by secrecy and deception.

Further, we reveal ourselves to the world as someone who has read the Liber Mortis. To say that such makes us worthy of assassination in the eyes of ninety-nine out of every hundred people is to laughably understate the severity of the world's reaction to us moving forward after that. We will be considered one of the most dangerous necromancers alive at best; we lack the credibility of the Grand Theogonist to claim righteousness after making use of even the smallest fraction of such power.

.......Oh God. Fucking. Damn it.

I respect you Boney for writing this but I also Fucking HATE you for it.

It will a red day indeed. Rally the army, crush the castle, see what the fuck the 4th wave was doing, and hide the blasted book.

Well the next count is going to be one of Van Hal's hidden relatives, with Anton as regent.
EDIT- at least i assume. we know he has hidden kids from his widow, but politics might say no

So, is there any chance of we being appointed as the next Elector if we manage to win this.

We shall honor his memory in the only way one can for those who have fallen for the Empire of Sigmar.

Well, I think the statement is misleading. It seems to be some severe rationalization and the precedent is actually terrible for us.

The precedent is that the Grand Theologian can speak the spell of unmaking in response to an Empire-wide threat.

We are not the Grand Theologian and this isn't an Empire-wide threat. I don't see it going well for us if we choose this option honestly.

For those who don't know the source material.

The Liber Mortis is the best source on Necromancy available to the scholars of the Old World. It was written by the Necromancer Frederick van Hel, better known to later generations as Vanhel. The one complete surviving copy of the book is kept under lock and key in the vaults of the Great Cathedral of Sigmar in Altdorf and can only be studied by the purest-hearted scholars, and even then only after special dispensation from the Grand Theogonist himself. Vanhel was a Necromancer at the time of the Great Plague and compiled his masterpiece from translations of the Books of Nagash. It is this book and its copies that have caused so much horror and death in the lands of the Old World.[1a]

A COPY has all that protection on it and we're holding the genuine article right now. Something written by copying portions of THE BOOKS OF NAGASH.

So yeah you REALLY, REALLY, don't want to read this book. ESPECIALLY when your emotional compromised.
