So much Learning. :)

Various thoughts on the Pile Of Options we've accumulated.

Genießt den Krieg - join the divisions entering Sylvania:
[1] Now that the land is cleared between Stirland proper and Nachthafen, spend some time in the court of the only Sylvanian noble to recognize and be recognized by the Empire, Countess Gabriella von Bundebad.
[2] If you're feeling nosy, Vanhaldenschlosse is apparently free of anything that would object to you poking around in what was once the proud ancestral home of the Van Hals.
[3] Something apparently quite similar to the Purge of the Haunted Hills is going on in Ostermark's southern regions; you could inspect goings-on up there yourself.
[4] Attach yourself to the general staff, so you can be present for anything interesting that might happen and keep a finger on the pulse of the war.
[5] Attach yourself to a specific regiment so you can spend some time in the thick of things.
1 looks interesting, there might be something to learn about Sylvania there. On the other hand, getting to know this noble is arguably lower priority than getting to know Detlef Schultz, Architect of Stirland, who is still relation:??? and we've been putting off him for six years.
2 seems like bait that risks annoying Van Hal, with the upside being mostly knowledge of his backstory.
3 and 5 seem like timesinks; we know how the war is going at this point and it's not near Drakenhof yet.
4 might do something, but I doubt it. We're not going to shape the war and it doesn't seem to need us. So all in all I'd cut this category down to two "finalists" for further consideration.

[1] Hang Out A Shingle: Spymasters don't advertise, but wizards sometimes do. Make an official announcement that there's a wizard in residence, and see who comes out of the woodwork.
[2] Formal Proposal: Your idea for an undead research team was received poorly, but Van Hal is still open to the idea in theory. Write in details: Name, who it is technically a part of (Watch, Witch Hunters, Military, College, none), and whether it reports directly to you (becomes a new Organization you command) or, if not, who it would report to.
[3] Gun Shopping: You're currently using a pistol that was a spare for the pistoliers. Visit Nuln to upgrade. (Choose: dueling pistols for accuracy and range, repeater pistols for weight of fire, dragons for hand shotguns. Choose: whether you will acquire and use two pistols at once or keep one hand free.)
[4] Write up a proposal for Wilhelmina to approve a short-term increase in Discretionary Income, for the duration of the crisis.
1 seems like a legacy option and a formality by now. We're known as Dämmerlichtreiter; the interesting people who would come out of the woodwork are probably aware of the wizard by now.
2 is not the time for this, both because money issues and halfway through campaign where it would have been relevant.
3 might be interesting, but we really don't need more martial capability at this point. Intrigue and Diplomacy are more of a priority, IMO.
4 is very unlikely to work with the Purge eating Stirland's money and Van Hal having encouraged us to be self-financing. So I'd ditch this entire set this turn.

Self-improvement options: Enchantment has been waiting in the corner forever.

Home Comfort Options: Likewise, and digging out the Palace-Shrine might gain us treasure.

Research options: The largest bloc that keeps calling to us.
[ ] Undead Research: You know the basics, now. Perhaps a great deal of effort will allow you to advance further.
[ ] Snooping: Van Hal gave you a key to his Study. It's been a while since he's been in Wurtbad; he probably forgot he did so, and won't remember until he returns. And he didn't specifically say not to poke around and see what you could find.
[ ] Shyish-kebabs: The Shyish swords are hideously dangerous as weapons, but fascinating as a subject of study. Try to reverse-engineer the lost enchantments woven into them.
[ ] Publish Or Perish, Part 3: You spent a month running into roadblocks; hopefully that means that you got them all and now there's nothing between you and actually writing the damn paper. (NEW)
[ ] Qhaysh Juice: Whatever it is, it's dripping out of the box at a steady rate. You've got several gallons of the stuff and it's still coming out. It's got to be good for something.
[ ] Qhaysh Skunkworks: It would take careful study to unlock the secrets of the liquid. It would take considerably less time to find out if it can be made to burn, or explode, or do something militarily useful.
[ ] As a Journeywoman, the path to Magister is marked by mastering more than the two shadow spells you already know. Send to the Grey Order for the basics and work on figuring out one of the others.
First two are probably lower priority, at least...

Influence options: Not now, I think.
Relations options: Not now, I think.

"Finalist" options to whittle down further:
[] Visit Countess Gabriella
[] Campaign with the General Staff
[] Work on our enchantment
[] Set up enchantment lab
[] Dig out Palace-Shrine
[] Shyish-kebabs
[] Magical Matrix paper publishing
[] Snake juice theory
[] Snake juice bombs
[] Learn new spell

...pick 2 of 10. We have so much to do.

No time. We still aren't ready with the Bound Spells paper, we don't want to put it off(as anyone writing a paper knows, putting it off for two months means you hardly remember what it was about).

At most we could set up the lab. But no time to experiment with the drippings of Weber's Box yet.
And leaving the steadily growing supplies of what is basically purified magic is better?

We're up to
[ ] Qhaysh Juice: Whatever it is, it's dripping out of the box at a steady rate. You've got several gallons of the stuff and it's still coming out. It's got to be good for something.
So I'd rather we deal with it before we wind up having to explain away why the castle is now flooded with it.

Mystical Matrix is good. We could add "Marvelous" but that could be going a bit too far.

This plan hits my strike points.

[X] [name] Dame Weber's Contextually Initiated Thaumoprocrastinatory Ulgulic Matrix
Definitely want Weber to be part of the name, and the number of adjectives makes up for the lack of alliteration.

Plus, it calls us Dame.

Shouldn't that be [ Plan ] etc?

And leaving the steadily growing supplies of what is basically purified magic is better?

We're up to

So I'd rather we deal with it before we wind up having to explain away why the castle is now flooded with it.
At the current rate we got time before it becomes a problem.
Plan Enchantrix has it in hand if you want that, since it would have everything lined up for the investigation.

I just figure after last turn we spent entirely on self improvement, we probably want to do our job and see if the local ruler knows anything(she almost certainly does, but the tricky part is getting it out of her)
Shouldn't that be [ Plan ] etc?
Thats a good way to muck up the tally because Nettally only recognizes Plan in the name, not in the tags. So we go with Action for the actions vote and Name for the name vote

Im fine with this. Though we are spoiled for choice when it comes to these. Maybe make a 'pledge' that in the near-ish future we will finally deal with that magic juice?

Also by this point our enchanter trait is basically a time sink we cant afford (lol).

I'm pretty sure enchantment is another multi-action set. Let's not commit to it just yet. Rainbow juice is a lower hanging fruit.

Speaking as someone who knows a person working on their thesis, if we stop working on it we'll never get it done. We gotta keep at it.
