Not this quest. Only interactions the quest has had with Araby is that one Arabyan magician attended Mathilde's lecture on Waaagh magic, and Cython spent some time there a millennia ago.Yeah, kislev probably has some interesting stuff. Learning about their gods if nothing else. As for bretonnia... well, there's probably some trashy Arthurian romances Mathilde can add to her collection.
Maybe we should take a trip to araby some time. They probably have more nehekara stuff than the empire if nothing else.
Was it this quest that had some maybe-a-tomb-king dude ruling over some arabyan city states and getting in a war with Settra?
Hard to remember what it was from since it was just a one off rumor sort of thing. Hm.Not this quest. Only interactions the quest has had with Araby is that one Arabyan magician attended Mathilde's lecture on Waaagh magic, and Cython spent some time there a millennia ago.
the fortress of Black Rock is outside its walls. Maybe it was named for the presence of a literal, and particularly impressive, black rock?
there's a castle in the southern Skaag Hills that's just called 'The Horn', and I can't find any record as to why. Could be it was built on something horn-shaped

Important addition to Max's character sheet: collects knickknacks. This chapter had a lot of little bits that I loved
Considering humanity? A valid approach.

I think the external action may be by elves form Ulthuan who are visiting as delegates to counter the druichi.
Yeah, it feels like it's time for the high elves to start to weigh in—if not this turn, then probably within the next 3-5, if not sooner.
Yeah, I wouldn't put it past Boney to have planned this a turn or two ago. We've been speculating multiple times that next turn's title is probably '...Like an Avalanche', and Ulthuan sending diplomats would be enough to warrant that, let alone all the progress we've been having on the waystones, or the AV/Liminal Realm/oh hey theres a Lord of Change telling us we could be an Everchosen developments. If we think Asur diplomats may show up soon, it's even more urgent to talk to the Druichi now, so we have a better hand when talking to the former.

For the Asurs, the Colleges are a bunch of cute puppies playing around with forces they barely understand. I think we should take every advantage we can.Speaking of Ulthuan, what are people's thoughts on getting Asur diplomacy lessons before negotiating with them for leyline passwords (regardless of how many turns in the future it may be)? Is it worth having every advantage possible, or just overkill when we could use The Gambler to give us a greater shot at it?
Grand Prince is the title, but yes.
I expect that if the Asur are coming, (and that's a big if) it's not because of Mathy and her project, but as a counter to the Druchii Diplomats.
They probably did not even know we where here until they arrived. And that we are an unexpected (and frankly unwanted) compilation to their mission.
High Elve Dip quest probably throw a fit at the curve ball of arriving in the city to find a human lead magic research outpost, and is now spending one of their AP to figure out 'what the hell is going on?'
I really doubt it. Boney has made it clear that the Asur would not like the project and would try to pressure the empire to stop it. That might not have been successful but we definitely would have heard of it.I wouldn't be sure of that. The Asur have an embassy in Altdorf, and I don't think the Waystone Project is that secret, given the level of investment.
Just as we have friends amongst the dwarves, other Magisters or members of the Imperial Court may have friends at Ulthuan's Embassy.
The Asur could well have received an in-depth briefing on who we and the other Collegiate members of the Waystone Project are, along with copies of some of our less sensitive publications.
