I do hope the Zhufbar dwarves aren't too soured by the lack of dwarven treasure. You'd hope that a complete lack of casualties along with a nominal mission success would be enough.
I think we're being influenced by Mathilde's internal commentary. Boney has said that it's a success by any measure, just not one to be expected from Mathilde's reputation. Mathilde herself has also gotten caught up in it, because she's so used to ridiculous overachieving that she's worrying it might not be enough for the Dwarves.I do hope the Zhufbar dwarves aren't too soured by the lack of dwarven treasure. Practice our Grumbling?Well that's gnawing insecurity that we aren't doing enough to benefit the Karaz Ankor off of the dawi checklist, what do we have left?
Not to mention, because of his illnesses, he can be quite grumpy and down to earth for a high elf.Teclis is possibly the only Elf of Ulthuan that everyone involved would be at least willing to hear out if he were to Kramer in the door. He fought alongside High King Alriksson at the Battle at the Gates of Kislev, and like Queen Marrisith is of the Line of Aenarion, making them cousins.

No such thing. How about the gnawing guilt that we might be prioritising the needs of the Karaz Ankor over the needs of the Empire?
Depends on interpretation. Some Teclis interpretations are pretty unpleasant, although I'd probably assume Boney would be going for a more heroic version of Teclis than the "End justifies the means" version from End Times. I also hear the trilogy novel about him and Tyrion don't exactly paint him in the best light, but that's often inflated. Not to mention, because of his illnesses, he can be quite grumpy and down to earth for a high elf.
Thorek might even like him.

Ulthuan is puzzled at not being able to find the high loremaster.

Pretty sure only one Elf could be considered his friend, and that was Maliketh.Having lots and lots of Elf-friends, just like King Snorri Whitebeard.
I think the 'best' interpretation is the trilogy one: not a great person in thought, beliefs and private, a good person in action and public, A hero in legend and reputation.Depends on interpretation. The big problem with that is that nobody involved in the Laurelorn mess actually wants to see Nordland prosper. The Eonir came within a hairs breath of entering a war of extinction with Nordland, and if Nordland collapses then Middenland will benefit greatly. Propping up Nordland through trade only benefits Nordland, and many will question why we are helping them, rather than those who were affected by Nordland's unjust actions.
Strictly speaking it would be Kislev ore that just has to pass by the Nordland coast and the village of Leihafen to get downriver. If they can't get it from Middenland and they don't want to trade with Marienburg then Erengrad is the next best option. The Nordlanders are still going to get something from that trade, even if they don't get port fees or the like the ships will at least be buying supplies, but not as much.

What does "holograph" mean in this context?I can't help but notice

But Ranald is a trickster god!
I don't think Mathilde actually feels any sort of guilt over that. I think she values the Colleges directly and humanity in the abstract, and supporting the Karaz Ankor is of general benefit to humanity. How about the gnawing guilt that we might be prioritising the needs of the Karaz Ankor over the needs of the Empire?
